Working the holidays as a nurse is hard. It’s inevitable you work at least one major holiday when you are at the bedside! Last year I took Thanksgiving off because my family came to town + I hosted. I was all about fall and Thanksgiving decor! This year most of the fall season was spent wedding prepping, enjoying our wedding, and honeymooning. Since we have been back it has been nonstop work and school! Plus I work on Thanksgiving, so there is really no need to plan a big meal or go over the top with fall decor (though I still have quite a bit out because #holidaylover 😂). Anyways, working on Thanksgiving means I am off for Christmas this year! And I am SO excited!!! Went on a Target date with my husband today and picked up some adorable stuff! + we picked out our Christmas tree theme (we change it every year). I also picked up a hilariously inappropriate sweater yesterday for our festivities! 😂 What holiday do you get to celebrate this year?! 🎄✨ #itsthemostwonderfultimeoftheyear
These days it’s easy to find out which lullabies John Legend sings to his toddler, so I figured you might be interested in what I like to sing...Ok, I’m kidding... you do not want to hear me sing!
But what about a look into how I make sure to stay on track with my daily water intake. I know it sounds so simple, but it's something that I really struggle with, especially as the weather gets colder and drinking plain, cold water gives me the shivers!
The first step it to figure out how much you should be drinking, it differs for everyone. A great number to start with is half your body weight in ounces, here's an example
160 pounds = drink at least 80 ounces of water
The next step for me was to figure out how to track it an stay accountable. Some people pick a decent sized reusable water bottle and track how many times the finish it... and that didn't quite work for me! I took it a step further and checked out a bunch of water tracking apps, and finally found one that's been working for a couple of months. It's call Plant Nanny, and by tracking your water intake, you grow virtual plants. When you slack, your plant begins to perish (what happens to my plants in real life...). It also sends you notifications throughout the day to remind you to stay consistent with your water intake.
Now it's time for me to go drink some more water!
Q: What are your favorite books?
A: How do I just pick a few?! 😅
I read a mixture of: medical memoirs, nutrition resources, mindset shifters, and the occasional fiction novel. The ones pictured here are the ones that I’ll carry with me forever. They changed me, or rather my mindset, in some sort of way, and I’ll return to their lessons and insights over and over again.
What is your favorite book, or what’s a genre you enjoy to read most? #selfcareinhealthcare#bookshelves
Home health nurse life👩🏻⚕️ includes being able to chart from home. Everything is so technological these days! Today I’m super thankful for my job. As the holidays come near I’m reminded of a time when I was more upset than grateful about missing the holidays due to a job.🇺🇸🎄 I learned to accept the moment for what it is and fall in love with the journey.🚗 Not where I WANT to be but I’m ON MY WAY✊🏼 PS if I can wife, mom and work full time while running an online business, you can too. Let’s take DAILY action steps together to help us get where we want to be.💋
When your fridge is almost empty but you’re not quite motivated enough to head to the grocery store: bell pepper, strawberries, and edamame for lunch. Always with a side of Saunders NCLEX, because this book is life. ⚡️ #selfcareinhealthcare
Motion creates emotion. I may have not done my normal home workout, but you bet you booty we got a freaking work out in every single day along with 12,000 people! Every hour, we jumped, clapped, and shook our bodies, and changed our physiology, to be able to learn more and take massive action. Plus, we walked a TON between events and city exploring. Travel is never an excuse to stop being active!
If YOU want to make big changes in your life, your finances, your dreams, or even your emotions, it ALL begins with moving your body.
Stand up straighter. Go on a jog. Get a workout program as part of your daily routine. DO something. And you’ll FEEL better 🔥
Incorporating these tips I learned, and jumping back into my program when I get back home to good ole H-town ✌🏼

When people ask me why I’m obsessed with at-home workouts: the post-workout puppy snuggles, DUH! 💁🏼♀️
Last week, I finished my eight-week lifting and HIIT program, and this morning, I dove straight into my free HOLIDAY HUSTLE challenge!
For two weeks, my teammates and I are leading our challengers through a different workout each day, in order to provide them with an opportunity to try a large variety of the workouts offered by our platform. Because there are so many that I have yet to try, I am so excited to spice up my routine alongside of them!
I think that too often, we try to over complicate fitness. But the thing is, it’s really as simple as: move your booty, lift some things, and get a little sweaty. Do that 30 minutes a day, 5–6 times a week, and see how you feel! Spoiler alert: it’s gonna be good. ✨ #selfcareinhealthcare#doingthings#last90dayschallenge#last90days

I’ve been in business as a nutrition and fitness mentor since I found the courage to jump in and follow my dreams of helping others, and when I was getting started, Natalie was so generous with her wealth of knowledge and experience, I learned more about coaching inspirationally from her than I did from any other single source.
Thank you Nat, for literally everything.
The only reason I know this amazing human is because I took a chance to follow my dream of having an amazing life and helping others do the same. if you'd like more info and think you'd like to join us, like or comment below and I'll be in touch!!!
Here we are already. *sigh*…Another Sunday night. 🤦🏼♀️
LAST week was a legit S*$! Show. I was aboard a crazy train and could NOT get off. Work stress, kid stress, crazy schedules — you name it we were going through it.
As I sit back and actually review the week 1 thing was constant. My habit to continue to work on my health & fitness. I stayed true to that every day last week. •
I invite people all the time to my fitness & nutrition groups. Some say yes, some say no and some don’t even respond. But you know what? I keep asking….just like I do week after week because I KNOW what it has done for MY life. •
I was telling my husband Friday night that if I was the same person I was in 2010 I would be going down the same path that led me to self destruct and land in an eating disorder hospital. But I am different now. •
You know what saved me last week from going off the deep end? My groups. My fit tribe. The ladies who have my back day in/day out and offer support & keep me on track on a DAILY basis.
I owe it to myself to stay healthy. I owe to THEM too. I show up every dang day because it’s a habit now. Something I only learned by saying yes to joining a group such as this 2.5 years ago.
If you find yourself sitting here tonight on Sunday night regretting the choices you made with your food or even your lack of activity then let this be a sign for you. If you find yourself tired of the rat race of life and being so stressed out you don’t know what to do or where to start then let this be a sign for you too. There is a way out and an easy way to start. You just have to know which way to turn.
If you’re reading this post and feel like you need a little help to get through this season of life then just reach out and we can chat. I can explain what my group entails. It’s straight up NOT food deprivation or doing a bunch of burpees either. We work on life & mindset. •
No Excuse November. The price to start is the cheapest I have ever seen. •
Turkey Day is upon us in another week. People start to slide down the slippery slope and land on January 1st feeling disgusted with themselves. Don’t let that be you. 💕
