8 miles at 8500 feet today. The first mile was a debacle and I thought about calling it early. Nothing felt right, but I stuck with it and just chugged along. When I turned around to head back to the car I started to feel better but not great. I decided to open things up for a bit and ran a sub-8 pace for the last mile. That felt good. One more run at altitude tomorrow and then rest and relaxation for the week. #rinnanrunning#sevenmoremiles#nowgogetit#wdyfty#westslopebestslope#mmstriders#keepgoing#keepshowingup
Who’s excited for @cirqueseries coming up? These races are rad and these training runs are a great reason to get together and enjoy the mountains. @on_running shoe demos are a go at these get togethers. Come join next time. #lovlife#blessed#livelikezac#neverneverland#pushpeaks
Early morning, long shadows. This morning's run was my final "Key Workout" and other than several mid-length runs at altitude this weekend, this marks the end of my train for #SJS50 .
Everything running related that I have done in 2018 has been to prepare for this run in 10 days. I put together one of my most complete training blocks over the last 8 weeks tallying over 340 miles and 36,000 feet of climbing. Hopefully this will give me a reasonable shot at finishing. #rinnanrunning#sevenmoremiles#nowgogetit#wdyfty#westslopebestslope#mmstriders#keepgoing#keepshowingup
Always and I mean always struggled with my weight. Either I wasn’t skinny enough for myself. Then I was too skinny. one day realized “skinny” isn’t what makes a person beautiful. For past few years regarding health issues I’ve lost over 20 pounds. I’ve done so much to keep it. So here’s to all and everyone who is struggling to find their “beauty”
Be healthy. That’s beautiful ❤️💜♥️ be the best healthy version of yourself. Be confident. That’s sexy (: it honesty took me years, two whole years to even enjoy taste of food. Now food is a challenge and it always will be. But it won’t overcome me. I want to teach my daughter the proper healthy way of loving each and every part of her body and soul ♥️ today and every day I decided to just live. Live and be healthier version each day. 🧚♀️Mind. Body and soul 🧚♀️✨✨✨✨✨✨✨#eathealthy#eat#eatingawareness#eatingdisorderrecovery#behealthier#yourenotalone#bestrong#behappy#foodcanbesobeautiful#foodcanbesogood#justlive#herestous#nowgogetit#bethebestyou#workhard#resultsstarthere#lifeisajourney
Fuck you to
“Go way you’re too skinny”
Fuck you to
“Lose weight and go work out”
Fuck anyone who thinks different and fuck the body shamers. People need to water their own grass (;
Always be on watch. It wasn't that we stood by and didn't fight back, but little is said about the "Stephen's" (ref Django character played by Sam Jackson). Envy and jealousy are real things... emotions that are natural but can easily become distorted. They can stifle growth and blind one of their very own potential if they aren't managed properly. And those who hold on to the trait do so in secret.... knowing it's wrong. It's ok to feel a way...its not always ok to act out upon it. In other words, take the time to deal with your shit. Figure out why it is you deal with these kinds of emotions and change them. There is enough love and success in this world for us all.
Happy Monday! 🌞🌞🌞 #nowgogetit#moneymakingmonday 💰💰💰 #bestdayoftheweek#noenvy#nojealousy#growup#faceyourshit 💩
So close your eyes, and embrace your memories
Leave your troubles and your worries far behind
Stop contemplating and start celebrating

After scouting the South Couloir route on Thompson Peak last week (wandering around in the woods, self-arresting and wading creeks) I went back today to put in a solid effort running the ~12 mile, ~4,200 ft route. I topped out in 1:54 and made it back to the car exactly an hour later with a 2:54 roundtrip.
Thompson is the highest peak in the Sawtooth Mountains and the South Couloir is a beautiful and diverse line. There is smooth singletrack, scrambly sidehilling, steep snow, loose talus, some quality 3rd class climbing and of course some sweet glissading on the route.
Idaho only has four FKTs that have been published on fastestknowntime.com, compared to four PAGES for Colorado. In pursuing some new FKTs this year I hope to help put Idaho on other runner's radar - it's rad!
How does one put into words a great adventure that won’t be understood unless you’ve done it? I think the best bet is to not even try. I’ll just say that mountains are incredible and great friends are irreplaceable. #lovelife#blessed#livelikezac#neverneverland
I like the way your brain works, I like the way you try
To run with the wolf pack when your legs are tired
I like the way you turn me inside and out
I like the way you turn
No wolf pack but tired legs for sure. Traded "running" up a mountain for the aspen lined forest service road at 8000+ feet of elevation...climbed to over 9000 feet for a brief time, but nothing like yesterday. Today was just long D-grade climbs.
Oh beautiful Haiti 🇭🇹, naturally beautiful from the land to the people 🇭🇹 🇭🇹🇭🇹 If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? Drop a comment below 👇🏾 @bellaworldwide capturing those angles
Squaw Peak 50 2018 in the books! One thing I’ve learned is we always have expectations going into races, and more often than not things play out much differently in one way or another. Went into the race unsure if my training was sufficient and ran a 10:57, a PR of almost an hour. I planned to go without a pacer until I saw my buddy Brian at the mile 26 aid station and he asked if I wanted a pacer to the finish. Let’s GO! We partied through the mountains and he cracked the whip and got me a sub 11 finish that I didn’t think was remotely in the cards. I’m so grateful for all the support from my people today- it truly was an awesome day that won’t be forgotten! 🏔❤️
After 8 months of looking at Mt. Lamborn daily, I finally went all the way to the top. 15 mile round trip with 5000 feet of climbing topping out over 11,000 feet.
I started just before 6 AM and summited just before 9AM. It was tough for sure, the last 2 miles were no joke and while I dealt well with the steepness it was the loose footing that made the last push tricky.
The views of the surrounding West Elk Range was unreal and I could see the San Juans to the south, foreshadowing my next adventure.
At the summit. I thanked the mountain for safe passage to the top and asked for a safe, speedy return trip. 3 hours up, 1:48 down.
Super cool way to start the day.
Squaw Peak 50. It was my first 50 miler back in 2016. It was the last time I ran with Zac Zimmerman in 2017. It has been a significant race for me for different reasons each year, and tomorrow will be no different. Reflecting on changes over the last year has reminded me that although my training hasn’t been great, tomorrow is part of a journey that I’m thankful for every single day. If you’re running, throw up some high fives tomorrow as we’re truly fortunate to have the opportunity to spend the day doing what we love. 📷: Greg McIff at SP50 last year. #livelikezac#alwaysforward
