Having a toast party this morning because it’s almost friday! One has PB, cashew butter, bananas, cinnamon, honey and hemp seeds. The other has mashed avo, red pepper flakes, hemp seeds and pink salt. Plus some pasture raised hard boiled eggs on the side.
As I was sitting on the train to Manhattan this morning, looking at the grey sky outside, listening to my “Tropical Vibes” playlist on Spotify, it suddenly hit me...⠀
For the first time in a long time, I feel like I am exactly where I need to be.⠀
I don’t feel the need to be planning my next trip to escape the cold. My bags are completely unpacked and stored away - and for the first time in over 7 years I have NO DESIRE to get them out. ⠀
And as I looked out the window, I couldn’t help but wonder: “Is this what it feels like to be “home”?⠀
Or does it mean I’m getting old?!” 😂⠀
I guess time will tell... for now, let’s appreciate the last hours of summer, take in these tropical toast vibes by @elysiansoul.blog and find a new fall playlist...⠀

I’m telling you, if you haven’t spent hands on time rubbing down your kale, you’re missing out. 💆🏼♀️
It COMPLETELY changes the texture and makes for a much more delicate leaf that still holds up well for meal prepping purposes. .
Key in this Rubbed Kale Salad with Roasted Veggies and a Lemon Tahini Dressing 🤤It’s a must!! Recipe below and continued in the comments section 😉😉
•1 head cauliflower, trimmed and cut into bite sized pieces
•2 bunches kale (preferably dinosaur kale, but I used curly and it was great as well), stemmed, and sliced
•1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
•1-1/2 tsp smoked paprika, divided
•1/2 tsp garlic powder
•pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
•1 red onion, sliced thin
•3 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil, divided
•1/2 bunch parsley, roughly chopped
•juice of 1/2 a lemon
Lemon Tahini Dressing
•4 tablespoons tahini
•1/4 cup water
•3-4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, about 1-2 good lemons
•1/2 tsp cumin
•1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
•2 cloves garlic
•salt and pepper to taste
1.Preheat the oven to 450 F. Prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
2.Cut the base of the cauliflower head off and cut the cauli into smaller florets. Slice the onion into thin strips. Place the cauliflower and onion into a large bowl, drizzle 1 tablespoon of the olive oil on top, mix so that the vegetables are evenly coated. Sprinkle 1 tsp of smoked paprika over the cauliflower and onion, season with salt and pepper. Separate the mixture onto the two prepared baking sheets. Roast the cauliflower and onion for 20-30 minutes or until browned and crispy, moving the vegetables around 1/2 way for even roasting.
3.While the vegetables are roasting, make the dressing. Blend all the dressing ingredients together in a blender or food processor until smooth. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Toastie lunch, again another leftover dinner dish + onion hummus and Barbeque sauce 👌😍
Little personal note about the pressure society has created on us to have the perfect healthy diet/perfect life/perfect this and perfect that.
So incase you didn't know I follow a PREDOMINANTLY Vegan diet.. okay so what does that mean? 🤔
It means for me sometimes when I have a few glasses of wine I may munch mindless on some cheese and onion crisps, a few hershie Milk chocolate. The odd time I may want to taste a bit of halumi cheese etc.
I used to feel guilty about this, promising myself I would from now on swear an oath to Veganism. But you know what guys I am so passed that. I enjoy healthy foods Most of the time because they make me Feel good + nourish me, I personally don't eat meat and Most of the time eat 'plant based' (that term makes me cringe lol)
But I also sometimes eat something containing dairy, I drink sometimes with friends and family because I enjoy it. I have days I eat crap because I'm stressed, feeling lazy or simply just because and you know what that is OKAY. .
Let stop with the extremes, the fad diets, the constant need to label yourself with a specific diet and let's just all eat what we know is good for us (fruits, veggies, lean meat, fish, eggs, whole grains, beans and pusles etc..) + Move our body as much as we can and just simply be kinder to ourselves and not be so hard on ourselves all the time ❤
If your still reading thank you for listening to my little rant 🙈
Have a lovely day everyone, Friday tomorrow wohoo 🤗🤗

g☀️☀️d morning from my papaya boat🛥💞 I think papayas are very hit or miss with people (aka you either love it or hate it!) I personally loveeee papayas for their antioxidants, aid in inflammation + the fact that they’re fiber-rich.
but mostly because they’re delicious 😛😻. paired with tahini, sliced almonds, strawberries 🍓, blueberries and fresh mint 🍃 as the PERFECT pre @barrysbootcamp FUEL 🤜🏽 #idontkaleiloveitt
Do we need supplements? Yes we do, most of our fresh food is mineral deficient & mineral deficiency is now believed to be the underlying cause of almost all health issues. Our cells require minerals to function without them our cells become sick. We can not get the same mineral content from our food anymore as our soils are mineral deficient too. Supplementing minerals is the only way for optimal cell function, combined with a multi and a probiotic. Theses are my key three for my families health & wellbeing plus a clean fresh food lifestyle doing the things we love with the people we love💚 #healthcoach#minerals#nourishyourbody
BODY APPRECIATION POST ✨ // I am so fortunate to be participating in @thebarrecode’s #BackToSweat2018 challenge right now with the @barrecode_metd and this morning I decided to take two classes in a row. Years ago when I suffered from #bingeeatingdisoder , any kind of back-to-back workouts were done at home / alone as a punishment for whatever I had binged on. Those workouts were filled with thoughts of negativity, self-hate and a resentment toward my body for not looking the way I wanted it to. .
Today, those workouts are so, so, so different. I am constantly in awe of how much my body can do and how it surprises me each time I ask a little more of it. The way my heart pounds strongly in my chest, the way my muscles support my every move, the way sweat cools me down, the way my breath gives me energy. I walked out of my two hours of “me time” feeling so strong, powerful, sweaty, happy, beautiful and in genuine appreciation and gratitude of all that my body carried me through early this morning. 🖤✨
In an (almost) empty but butter jar I mixed birthday cake protein with oats, topped with @artisanaorganics cashew butter & frozen 🍑. Let me tell you...there is a new flavor with EVERY bite I take! I’m so happy with how this turned out. Definitely will be having this combo again 💯
taking oats on the go this morning so I’m throwing back to this classic cozy bowl 🙌🏼☺️
warm stove top oats topped with all the berries, almond butter, @purely_elizabeth granola, and pecans. one of my go to combo’s
happy thursday! hope it’s a great one! 💕
I have the worst memory (which I've come to find out is a product of hashimotos) and while I have always set out to have healthy rituals,i always forget! So I have started using my phone to set alarms to remind me to take my supplements and this morning detox drink! .
I love starting my day with a shot of this metabolism boosting, digestion enhancing elixir! .
Pressed ginger, lemons and apple cider vinegar with a dash of cayenne pepper. Take a shot straight or add to some hot water. .
Great for thyroid, gut health, weightloss and energizes you even better than a cup of coffee! .

Let’s talk SUGAR!
Sugar (like many other health topics) can be controversial. Some people say there’s nothing wrong with it, others say moderation is the key. Someone else says it’s just plain bad for you.
I’m a huge proponent of balance. Sometimes I’m practicing clean, even vegan, eating. Other times I’m indulging in cookies, meat, or dairy! Sometimes I stay up late in a instagram hole or working on projects, and other times I’m waking up at 4am for meditation. Life happens. ✨
However, sometimes you may need a reset. Committing to a clean, mindful way of eating brings joy that’s greater than the rush you get from sugar or a junk food binge. Crowding out, making life naturally sweeter so we don’t turn to sugar or other harmful escapes.
So right now, I’m teaming up with my friends Nadia & Catherine for a weekend sugar detox; I’m looking to reinvigorate my health habits, and prepare my body for Winter/Spring. The word detox may get a bad reputation, but it’s actually a magical and frame thing to do for your body and mind. Our bodies naturally cleanse itself, but it can be hindered by all the chemicals and toxins found in modern society and sometimes our bodies need an extra nudge. ✨
The FREE 3-day sugar detox starts this Saturday 9/22! You will receive a 30-page ebook with 4 full days of delicious recipes, self-care rituals, and knowledge, as well as have the option to be in a private Facebook group to share your experience and ask questions along the way. ✨
Want to join us? Sign up for my newsletter or send me your email address to be added to the communication being sent out today ✨
Did you know that you can heal your hormones with food? 🍓🍐Or that eating certain foods like beets and flax seeds during various phases of your menstrual cycle can help with PMS symptoms, such as hormonal breakouts, breast tenderness, and anxiety? A while back I started to eating foods for my cycle according to the various phases of the moon, and to be honest I haven’t been as dedicated as I wanted to be (so much planning is involved, especially if you don’t have a meal plan prepared!). ••••••••••••••••••••
Things are about to change because Im so happy and grateful that I will be taking part in Madeline's @naturalhormonehealing course on Eating For Your Cycle (E4YC). Check out her feed/blog, she is the queen of hormonal health. and a wealth of knowledge!💫Madeline’s online course is based on functional nutrition, self care rituals, custom herbal protocols, and meal plans that cater to the 4 phases of your cycle: menstrual, follicular, ovulatory and luteal. I can’t wait to share my journey with you guys, I'll also be sharing this bits of what I'm learning from the E4YC course, so stay tuned!! •••••••••••••••••••••••••
SMOOTHIE DETAILS: Banana Berry Follicular Smoothie, featuring blueberries, spinach, and camu camu to help build blood and energy to power me through my workout and endless school work. Full smoothie details are in Madeline’s E4YC course. ••••••••••••••••••••••••

Do any of you base your diet around your cycle? Would love your thoughts, tips and experience!!
Back at it like: roasted Japanese sweet potato stuffed with garlicky kale and a fried egg. I love that sweet potatoes are a blank canvas / vessel that can stuff your goods. What do you add to your potato? Looking forward to hearing your combos below. And if you haven’t gotten on the sweet potato stuffing train (some of my 🚒 haven’t and I’m putting it on our yearly agenda, not kidding), let’s fix that on a THURSDAY ....
It astounds me now that when many of us were kids we were taught to respond to name calling by responding, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. Did any adult ever follow that up by explaining that that phrase may serve as a protective mechanism, but words actually CAN hurt? Did they ever talk to you about how our words can build us up or break us down? Not only do I believe in using loving, empowering words with our children, but also with ourselves. What do our children learn when we tell them they are beautiful and then look in the mirror and judge and criticize ourselves? They are learning how to self-criticize. Today, I invite you to choose words that uplift your children’s spirits ... and to offer yourself the same gift. 💖💖💖 #powerofwords#chooseyourwordswisely
I need to try this😍😍😋. #Repost @healthy_bree with @get_repost
Banana, Date, Blueberry and White Chocolate Cake 🤤 .
This cake not only looks totally amazing, it also tastes amazing and is so dense like a mud cake texture with all those delicious bananas. (SWIPE ACROSS for a video close up) The cake is dairy free, nut free and can be made gluten free too, Id actually like to try and make a vegan version as all you would need to do is use flax or chia eggs as a replacement, however I’ve never tried it so I don’t know. Perhaps I’ll put that on my list of things to make 🤔
120g pitted dates
115g white self raising flour
115g wholemeal self raising flour
40g coconut sugar
40g milk of choice (I used soy)
130g olive oil or coconut (I used a mix of both)
2 tbs honey
3/4 cup white choc chips. (Extra for decoration)
3/4 cup frozen blueberries (plus fresh for decoration) .
•Preheat oven to 170c grease and line a deep loaf pan with baking paper. •Place dates and banana into mixing bowl and chop 5-10 sec speed 8. Scrape bowl.
Add remaining ingredients (except choc chips) and mix 5 sec speed 3-4, scrape sides and mix for a further 5 sec sp3. •Add choc chips and mix reverse speed 3, 3 seconds. •Pour mixture into prepared loaf tin and bake 1 hour 1 hour 15 mins or until a skewer inserted comes out clean (keep an eye on it from 1 hour) You can loosely cover with foil halfway to prevent browning too. After 5 minutes transfer to a wire rack to cool. Once cooled melt some white chocolate over a double boiler, pour into a ziplock bag and snip the corner off. Drizzle over the cake and decorate with fresh blueberries. .
As requested by a few people today here is that Medicinal Mushroom Soup recipe I whipped up to combat my cold like symptoms.
Into a pot 1 tbs of olive oil. Add either two tbs of freshly grated tumeric and ginger. I used 2 tbs of @trueprotein tumeric powder instead and freshly * grated ginger. 1 tsp of @trueprotein cinnamon and two cloves of crushed garlic. Let fry for a minute or two till fragrant. Then pour 1ltr of of water in and bring to the boil. Reduce heat then stir a can of full fat coconut milk and stir. Once warmed (do not boil) add 1/4 cup of tamari, 200g of sliced mushrooms, 200g of cherry tomatoes halved, 150g of snow peas trimmed and cook for 3-5mins till vegetables soften. I also added a large sliced red chilli for some extra spice. Remove from heat, serve with a splash of lime juice and fresh basil. * I peel and freeze my garlic and ginger. Not only does it last longer but easier to grate into dishes.
Hey guys sadly Britain's glorious heatwave is set to come to an end. On the upside, it can only mean soup season is back on 😃 • warming bowls of soups and broths packed full of seasonal ingredients 🌿 • just so delicious, filling and easy to make •
I'm not sure about you, but I'm totally up for embracing all things autumnal 🍁 who's with me?
So this is the 1st soup of the season for me which I made yesterday and enjoyed some today too. So glad I spotted a post by @food_to_glow featuring her Mediterranean tumeric, lentil and lemon broth. The only change I made was the addition of shittake 🍄 for their ability to further boost the immune system and fresh red chilli, as opposed to dried red chilli.
It's sure packed full of anti inflammatory ingredients to keep the lurgy away. As Kellie says "it's delicious whether you are fighting a cold, feeling low in energy or just fancy a nourishing bowl of something tasty". Do be sure to hop on over to say hi to Kellie, check out the recipe and read all about the immune boosting ingredients used in her broth.
STAY PRESENT .
seriously. in today's world it seems something is always competing for our attention... the news, podcasts, social media, etc. something is always happening + wanting to be seen. but you know what... something has ALWAYS been happening. right? and the world kept turning.
with our upcoming cross-country move, the hubster + I sat down to take a look at some of the things we wanted to box up and take with us... some things we wanted to store... and other things we needed to either donate or trash.
but it made me think of other things we needed to either take with us... or trash. and that was our habits. how can WE be more present as a family. how can we focus on the NOW... before our Gillies, the twins, are packing up their own things to head out on their own.
a few habits we decided to take with us: + family dinners... unplugged
+ Saturday morning outings to the local farmer's market
+ Sunday church service
+ starting the day with meditation and prayer
+ weather permitting... going outside in nature for at least 10-20 minutes each day
+ taking a beat at the end of the day to say ONE thing we are all grateful for
+ each parent taking one kid on a "date" each month... and mama + dad going on a date as well ☺️
some habits we decided to trash... but, I'd love to hear. what's your favorite practice to staying in the NOW + being fully present with those you love?
Mid-week meal prep??? This isn’t happening in my world. Since I do most of my meal prep on Sundays, by Thursday I’m typically out of food. So today I’ve got breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and dessert😋covered thanks to @snapkitchen because sometimes you gotta let someone else do the work for you!

struggling to lose those last few pounds?? .
When we talk about losing weight, I always want to make sure that we are discussing it in a healthy manner, no crash diets, no diet pills, none of the craziness. Weight loss is more about what you are adding versus what you are restricting. Weight loss and a healthy diet really comes down to how are you fueling your body. Are you setting yourself up for success or destruction?

Autumn is a time for harvesting and this is my first experience of harvesting our very own produce here at The Quaives. We have a small apple orchard of these amazing mini trees which produce a few different varieties of apples. Can’t wait to taste them and share them with guests on our retreats! We try and create meals that are based mainly on English seasonal foods, local and organic. We do still get luxuries like nuts, beans and coconut products which are imported. But what a blessing to have something from our own gardens to contribute to the meals. Our dream is to have more and more of our own homegrown produce but it’s a long term plan, and we have much to learn. Just living and life itself is school and there is always more to learn. We were blessed with this small orchard when we bought the place, and it is one of the many things that we love about this place. What is your new thing that you are learning about at the moment?
Sending love and blessings from the garden, Satgur x
#swipeleft to see how truly simple this make-it-yourself dairy-free creamer is ☕️
Take it from someone who would not take her daily cup of joe without adding nearly 1/4 a cup of sugary creamer first. One-fourth of a cup of flavored creamer every morning is a problem.
Then I discovered this dairy-free creamer with ONLY THREE ingredients 🙀 It’s more nutty than sweet, so imagine my surprise when I tasted it and instantly realized I would probably never be able to go back to the level of sweet that came from my former brand.
I have a lot of goals. One of those goals is to cut as much sugar out of my daily intake as I can. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY grams of my added sugar intake EACH WEEK came from my store-bought coffee creamer alone. How ridiculous is that?! You guys. There are roughly 2 grams of sugar (per ounce) in this diy creamer. I could leave out the maple syrup altogether, but I’m just not there yet 🤷🏻♀️ Until I am, I will gladly take 18g less sugar each morning.
For your own, blend together~
> 2 cans Thai lite coconut milk
> 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
> 1 tablespoon vanilla
For my fellow YL/eo people, add a drop of Peppermint Vitality to your coffee along with this creamer. Lovely fresh start to my mornings 😌
Pay attention to the added sugar. Pay attention to the ingredient list. Limit where you can. This is one way I found I can limit my sugar intake. How can you limit yours?
Spaghetti Squash VS Whole Wheat Spaghetti 🍝
Both are totally healthy options. One of the biggest differences here is calories, you’ll notice that right away. The squash has only 40 while the whole wheat has 4.5x that. The squash is also lower in carb but the whole wheat wins when it comes to protein and fiber.
So, how do you choose between them? Well, lower calorie and carb is not always better. Your body needs them to function. I usually choose whole wheat when I’m more active, had a lighter day of eating and need the calories or I’ll choose it for dinner if I’m gearing up for a morning run. The squash is great for a lighter meal, such as when you maybe haven’t been super active, if you’ve eaten a good amount throughout the day, or if you had a slice of cake unexpectedly in the break room and have plenty of available energy.
Ultimately, choose what sounds best and what will satisfy you!
Which do you prefer: spaghetti squash or regular pasta?
When I think of the summer of 2018 I will remember the mixed emotions I felt. .
When I started The Food Remedy I really didn't know what I was doing. I had this fire inside my soul that was telling me “you cannot work 9-5” ... I had this FIRE in my heart and I knew I had to help women - I had to help women understand that they had been fed a load of lies and the diet industry was the one that was flawed not them.
I didn’t think about the money or freedom. I just KNEW I wanted to help the women that I saw struggling that they can do it, they are worthy and capable of anything they want. I wanted everyone to feel good enough. .
Back then I didn’t have any idea how hard it would be, i had absolutely no idea how overwhelming it would get.
You can have all the strategy, and formula.
Listen to all the podcasts and read all the self-help books... but nothing beats .
JUST DOING IT.
This journey had been full of - highs and lows
- tears tears and more tears - highs so high the lows a blown right out of your mind I mean that feeling of being on @thismorning was sensational - the most wonderful clients
- Sleepless nights - Mistakes
- People who have conned me - 16 hour work days
- Sometimes working 7 days a week for months on end
- People who don’t see my worth - People who tear me down and criticise everything
- TROLLS .
Yet HERE I AM.
STILL DOING IT.
Sometimes it feels like a blessing other times it feels like I’ve been given a curse - it’s in my blood this is passion through and through. I’ve tried to not do it, I tried to walk away but I can’t it.
And it’s all because I know first hand how shit it feels to feel absolutely worthless, confused at what to eat and stuck comparing yourself negatively to everyone else - thats my WHY. My purpose.
Imagine a world in which every girl born on this planet is born knowing her innate worth. A world in which throughout her entire life she never feels disconnected from the knowledge that she is loved, loveable and worthy. Instead of learning to measure and judge herself by the external images and standards that bombard her daily with the subconscious message “you are not enough”
Had to grab #lunch while being on tour again and chose this beautiful Italian salad bowl even though it contains two massive fears: mozzarella AND pesto! 🥗
But you now what? It was such a good feeling to eat this again... I really missed out on so much just because of restricting... it’s a pity...
Nevertheless I‘m happy and enjoyed my salad while sitting in a little park savoring the last warm rays of sunshine before autumn starts. ☀️🍂
Drove back to my hometown today and surprised my mom at work, it felt good to see her and she was so happy about me surprising her. 💕
Going to visit a friend now to give her a little present before she’s moving to Spain for a few month. I’m really going to miss her.. 👭💕
In the afternoon I‘m driving back to my current home town because of uni and have dinner out with my boyfriend. 😍
What are your plans for today lovelies? ☀️
Keep fighting 💕
🇬🇧 On my free days I like making something that I don't have the time and the energy for on a workday. Today's breakfast was oat pancakes (based on the recipe of @thehealthymaven ) with Belgian chocolate chips, cranberry-maple syrup and yummy figs from my parents' garden 🤤
🇭🇺 A szabadnapjaimon szeretek olyasmit készíteni, amire munka mellett nincs se időm, se erőm. A mai reggeli így zabpalacsinta volt belga csokipasztillákkal, vörösáfonyás juharsziruppal, és isteni fügével, ami a szüleim kertjében termett 🤤
Which diet is best? 🤷🏻♀️
➡️ First of all, let’s get the word diet out of there! I despise that word w/ a passion. We have too many negative associations with that word. Let’s call them eating styles…
🔵 And the answer? The one that works best for you! If you enjoy meals with various animal products and dairy products in it, do you think vegan would work best for you? No. If you enjoy other foods that are restricted in the eating style you follow, it is going to be exponentially harder for you to stay consistent 👎🏼
🔶 The best option is the one that works for your life and is maintainable long-term 🙌🏼 If you feel any restriction or inability to enjoy what you love because of your plan, it is not the right one for you, and you WILL fail 🔙
. ⬛️ Lastly, even if you do follow an eating style, I strongly encourage you not to put yourself in the box of “I am vegan”...“I am Paleo”...“I am gluten-free.” This only makes you feel restricted or unable to eat the “cheat foods” or things off plan. Instead, identify yourself as human. Honor your hunger and fullness cues, satisfaction and cravings, and enjoy the foods you love! 🍣🍕🥦🍉🍩
🙌🏻 Your eating styles should not make you feel stressed or anxious! Choose what makes you feel most at peace and free. (P.S. this does not pertain to those with dietary restrictions due to allergies or health conditions) 💛🧡
