"If we spend all our time and energy comparing ourselves to others, we have no energy left to truly embrace who we are. We miss out on the change to grow, to develop and to reach our full potential. Comparison brings forth unhappiness, unease and dis-ease. So remember, never compare yourself to anyone else. You are the only one of your kind in this whole entire universe and time. You are the most wondrous, powerful, beautiful and precious being. Your light, vibration and energy fill the whole universe with a unique quality that is never to be seen again, never to be emulated or repeated. You are the only one who can reach the dreams that are in your heart, the only one who can heal, love, rejoice, shine and vibrate in such a unique way as to never be paralleled or equaled ever again. You are infinitely precious, invaluable and eternal. You are light, you are love, you are vibration, you are energy, you are unique and perfectly imperfect and every moment your light shines, is a moment the whole universe rejoices. So share your light, do not despair, do not give up, do not compare"

So, I’m gonna rant for a brief moment here today bc this kind of thing breaks my heart. Today, I Overheard someone ask the annoyingly proverbial "If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be and why?" question to the friend they were having coffee with. And I feel as though this ridiculous mentality that we are all in need of "improvement"on a physical level is incredibly detrimental.
What is wrong with being exactly the way we were created? Why is it so incredibly imperative to change our appearance? Why must we subject ourselves to constant attacks on how we look and how much work we need to do to perfect our looks? Why is it that people find it important to know what it is about our bodies that we would change given the chance? Are we so blind and egocentric that we can not see the beauty in all of us? Is it truly so paramount that we all look like super stars and super models? Do we really want to spend our time comparing body shapes and trading body parts when what we really need is to connect on a deeper level and love one another? There are many things that we can and need to change in this world; and a single one of those things has anything to do with how much we can “change” our bodies in order to look a certain way. We need to stop hatred and jealousy and bigotry and cruelty and a billion other detrimental things and yet we spend our days and nights wishing we looked more like Jessica Biel?! NO MORE! Please! Take a moment each day to truly love every single part of your body. You don't need to improve or yearn for someone else's body or body parts. You don’t need to fit a mold. You are perfectly imperfect and worthy in every single way exactly as you are now. So, can we call a moratorium on this kind of toxic “chatter”? Can we let people know they are loved and invaluable as is?
True healing is a slow and steady process. It demands utter #vulnerability and presence from us and it cannot be achieved by rushing or running away from any part of it. Hang in there. Breathe and be with what is in the moment; you will heal.
Living beyond the present moment and letting attachment rob you of peace is not a ‘dream’ or a ‘fantasy’; it’s an illusion meant to kept you trapped and enslaved to things that can not be. We must learn to softly let go and fall into the grace of this present moment fully. #bepresent#nomudnolotus#mindfullness#wellnesswednesday
#restriction isn’t the magic “will-power” based cute we have been told it is for so long. No, in fact, in many ways it is a very powerful fuel to a fire that need not be extinguished but rather, observed, understood and utilized in an effigy and healthy manner. #nourishingpaths#healthandwellness#mondaythoughts
#thoughtfulthursday - One thing I believe is incredibly important to remember is that we are ALL different. Not a single one of us is created the same and so, it is crazy to expect all of us to react in the same manner to food, exercise, life, etc. What's more, our bodies are (as all things in the universe are) in a constant state of renewal, flux and regeneration; which means that what worked for me 10 years, a year or even a day ago may not necessarily work for me today. This is why it is so crucial for us to always be connected to our bodies, minds and spirits and not to put too much stock on trends, rigid guidelines or parameters that tell us if we only do x, y or z, we will look exactly like so and so. That’s just not how it works.

The resonating theme in my soul this week. - opening up to #grace is unparalleled as a #healing tool. It is also painful, terrifying and a very slow and #vulnerable process. It takes time and it demands surrender even when we wish to grip tighter than ever. But it’s time to let go. Time to submerge ourselves into the core of presence and grace so we may heal once again.
Sometimes we need a little reminder that #healing isn’t easy or pain-less. Sometimes we need someone to bring our attention to the fact that all that discomfort and pain is helping us grow. So here is a gentle reminder for you today. Don’t give up. It’ll all be worth it. #nourishingpaths#recovery#nomudnolotus#onedayatatime
One of the things that breaks my heart the most is our ability as women to put each other and our selves down. And further still; our need to practically compete with one another for the sole purpose of being the one who has the most amount of stuff “wrong” with them. You know, it’s the “oh, I’m so fat, just look at these fat rolls” and “you think those are fat rolls, look at these flabby arm” kind of conversations that I find most distressing and which we need to change most desperately with in our society so that we may all heal. So, how are you showing up for the other women in your life? Can you spot this negative chatter and transmute it into something creative instead? Can you see how changing these old patterns may be healing for you and others around d you? #healing#womenempowerment#changetheculture#fuckdietculture#recovery#bethechange
Everything in the #universe is fluid and ever-shifting. So, no; our #healing isn’t linear. It is a vast land of canyons and oceans and deserts and forests. It is a space of shifting energies and variant experiences. Not all of them pleasant, happy or easy; but all of them part of the process. Hang in there. You are still healing, even when you feel like the whole world is turning upside down. #healyourself#healyourlife#recovery#nomudnolotus
#healing is a process and a practice and as such takes time and patience and is not always fun or joy-filler. It’s ok to ebb and flow as you heal. Just keep breathing, keep moving through it. It’ll be ok. #healyourself#recovery#loveyourself
We live in a world filled to the brim with instant gratification. This immediacy has made us believe that anything at all we may want needs to be accessible to us as soon as we even think of it. The problem is that in truth, nothing worth having, nothing worthwhile, in fact, will ever come to us at the snap of our fingers. We have to work, to practice, to be dedicated and patient and to be ready to fail time and time again before we get there. Is this something our “I want it now” minds are accustomed to? Nope. But it is crucial. Especially when it comes to the process of #healing and #recovery as these lovely tools take time and #awareness not instantaneous development. So, it may take time to get used to the process, but it’ll be worth it. Just stay with it and be kind to yourself; I promise it gets better. #healingtakestime#bepresent#bekindtoyourself#healthandwellness#healthandwellnesscoach#healthylifestyle
One of the things our ego likes to do is view the world as very one dimensional. This allows it to further compartmentalized and story tell in order to create a world it perceives as safe or non-chaotic. The trouble with this is that everything in the #universe is made up of beautiful dualities and is never ever linear. So, yes, food has calories and we can use these as fuel but #food is way more than just calories. Food is a #healing connector of people and cultures. It is a #memory in the making. It is #adventure as you explore new and unexpected flavors, textures, colors, smells, tastes and even places. It is #art and inspiration to many and it is so lovey there’s a hundred shows dedicated to its refinement, the challenge of its utilization, the #creative ways in which it can be transformed and the unique way in which it unites us all. Food is a symphony, a fluid expression of awe-inducing life and it is decidedly not meant to be reduced to calories. #enjoyfood#enjoylife#bepresent#healthyfoodrelationship#nutrition#consultant#nutritioncoach#healthandwellnesscoach#healthylifestyle
We, as humans, are well-versed and practiced in the art of story-telling. But not the kind where we draw up creative worlds and characters to fill up the pages of books or the screens in our homes. No, we are adept at telling stories about self to which we have attached meaning based on false egoic evidence and then, we use these stories to cheat ourselves out of living a fulfilling life by believing them and creating whole systems of belief around them. Take our stories around #dietculture for example. At some point somewhere down the line, someone may have made a comment about our looks or what we were eating, and we may have chosen to assign meaning to this comment, such as “that person is right, I’m fat and the only way to be truly worthy is to be thin”. From then on, anytime a similar occurrence or comment is made, or if we pay attention to all the media, magazines, tv shows, etc around us - we keep making this particular story more and more important to us, until one day, with out our even noticing, our whole life revolves around this story. It becomes the thing we obsess over at night and the idol we pray to every minute of every day. - Can you relate to this truth? Can you see some of your own stories and how you have slowly made them matter over the years? Now that you see them, would you be brave enough to start healing and letting them go? #youmatter#loveyourself#healing#recovery#nutrition#consultant#healthyliving#healthandwellness#youareworthy#nomudnolotus#selfawareness#selfcare#nourishingpaths#nourish#heal#letgo#youareenough#value#selfworth
I absolutely had to #repost this truthful and powerful message via @nutritionwithchelsea because I really do think we put way too much pressure on ourselves to be “good enough” to deserve or earn our own #nourishment which is so crazy because we 💯 deserve it! And don’t have to earn it in any way, shape or form. That’s just one more way in which #dietculture has tricked us into believing our worth is external. Which it simply is not. ✨💕🙏Wise words of hope to be shared far and wide for sure. #nutrition#consultant#nourish
Loving this very clear and very accurate visual of the restricting/binge cycle originally shared by @healthyisthenewskinny #repost - - I myself have run through the cycle a few times in my life and I can feel the stress building in my entire body just remembering that inner struggle and the obsessive need to be smaller and get back “on track” or back “where I used to be”. I know a great many of us feel this way on a regular basis. And I know what a big role #dietculture can play in aggravating this thought pattern. But I also know that we are not bound to repeat this cycle over and over. We are actually meant to break free from it and enjoy the beautifully healing nature that comes from truly connecting to self and from being aware and present in every moment. This #mindfulness can help us heal so much, and it can allow us to remember and relearn how to trust our bodies again so we may know these cycles are only destroying our health and our joy. If we become aware and mindful, if we remember who we are and know we are enough and worthy; we can break the cycle and begin the #healing process anew. ✨🙏 #wellness#wellnesswednesday#healthylifestyle#healtandwellness#regram
As a whole, we have assigned really heavy meaning to measurements in our lives, thinking that if we hit that magic number or remain with in certain parameters, we will be joyful and fulfilled. But the truth is this could not be further from the truth. This need to measure and compare and remain with in these constraints we have created for ourselves actually engenders more dissatisfaction, shame and pain than we can imagine. Leaving us always in need of these parameters to feel “in control from” (another illusion that truly does not bare meaning or even reality) only serve to create more anxiety, angst and even comparison with in and amongst us. If we can remember to become aware and in tune with what we truly need and how we continuously and diversely #nourish ourselves; we will remember and relish in true contentment and #equanimity . #trustyourintuition#trustyourbody#shiftyourperspective#nondietapproach#intuitiveeating#healyoursoul#healthandwellness#healthandwellnesscoach#helathylifestyle#nourishingpaths
We have a tendency to believe things are meant to be all or nothing regarding pretty much every aspect of our lives. We also want to run away from our shadow so far and so fast that we never have to see it again. But the truth is, everything in the Universe is made up of beautiful dualities. With out light, there is no dark, but with out dark there is no light either. So, yes, we are all light workers, and we are all worthy of self-love and self-acceptance. Which also means that as we shine our light into aspects of shade with in, we will still have plenty of days in which that shadow self strengthens, stirs or reawakens in one form or another. But we have the ability to become aware of the shift, remember the lessons learned along the way and choose to shine even brighter and/or remain rooted in the knowledge that we are worthy, loved, safe and capable to break free. We also have a right to feel every emotion with in every moment exactly as it comes along, with out needing to be judged or suppressed. Be present, root yourself deeply into truth and remember, not every day can be shinny and bright, and that’s ok. 🙏 #bepresent#mindfulness#judgementfreejune#healyoursoul#intuitiveeating#healthcoach#healthyliving#heathandwellness#healthjourney
We put so much burdensome weight on our very souls when we believe that the only way we could ever matter in this world is by fitting a mold that was not meant for our uniquely wonderful selves and that ‘shrinking‘ automatically equals health, even though it decidedly doesn’t. - It’s time to let go of the old paradigms so that we may indeed feel lighter as our souls, hearts, minds and bodies finally drop the heavy and unnecessary shackles of #dietculture ✨We are worthy always, and we do not belong under oppression of any sort. ✨
