What would you do?? I bought this caramel popcorn 🍿 in a fundraiser and managed to keep out of it (post #keto only). Was going to give to Dad, family etc, but the ingredients SUCK! 🤬I’m tempted to trash it and consider my $20 as a cash donation to the boy scouts. #sugarfreelife#notketo#notpaleo#jerf#notrealfood
So tonight I had a serious stern talk with my two boys (12 Levi & 10 Ezra). Levi gets irritated because his younger bro wants to be with him and do what he does. Ezra is overly dramatic but Levi tends to go into his own world because he’s at that age, I guess. You hear of so many families not close and siblings not talking. I told them I absolutely refuse for my family to be like that, I refuse to have any tension between brothers who are best friends. Kids lives are soooo different now. When I was a kid and In high school pagers weren’t even around (yeah go figure my age🤷🏼♀️). There was no outside world (social media) and yes I agree social media is useful and beneficial especially for business and staying in touch. But too much of it and video games are breaking families apart, once again I refuse that in my family. Sooo tonight I had a spur of the moment idea which goes TOTALLY against my “healthy” beliefs! I told everyone get in the car, we’re going to Longs (closest) and you have 5 min to grab whatever you want for $4 or less. You go over you get nothing. So of course they grab junk I don’t let them have! Swipe left to see!! CONTEST- guess what each person got. Here’s the names to match them- jodi, Ronnie, Levi, Ezra and Nahe (hint-2kids chose two things each) winner gets a free CBD oil roller and salve! Comment below to enter! After all they had fun and learned to work together. #lovewins#familyisforever#nohate#benice#bestfriends#Godfirst#fitfam#notsohealthychoices#fun forgive #notrealfood

Did you ever wonder how the meat sold in the grocery store always looks so fresh
Have you thought about how long it takes to get from a live animal to the slaughterhouse to the packer to the distributor to the grocery store to the meat case and finally to your dinner plate
⬇️ Two-thirds of the meat (beef and chicken) packaged for consumer use in the U.S. are prepared and packaged at a meat packing plant that then ships it case-ready for grocery stores. In the process, many packers inject carbon monoxide into the package that surrounds the meat to keep it looking–but not necessarily remaining–fresh
The carbon monoxide becomes infused in the meat and attaches itself to myoglobin (a kind of intercellular protein) in the meat and oxygen is thereby retained, keeping the meat looking fresh. No one will buy brown meat. The carbon monoxide creates a low-oxygen environment that inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause spoilage
Carbon monoxide (CO, one carbon atom plus one oxygen atom) is a colorless, odorless, flavorless gas that is lethal to humans in large amounts
When it is used in meat packaging, CO sticks to hemoglobin (the oxygen carrier in the blood) in the meat and stays there, ready for you to eat it
Consider this: Clostridium perfringens bacteria are one of the most common causes of food-borne illness. They thrive where there is little oxygen. Enter the meat (and imported fish) that has been treated with CO in the atmospheric packaging process. It’s estimated that about half of the meat sold in grocery stores contain this bacteria
This "meal" is *FIVE*YEARS*OLD* and is just sitting in a cabinet. 👀👀👀 Notice the lack of decay, mold, etc...because it is #notrealfood 🤢🤢🤢 Why would you #choose to put this in your body? I once heard a saying... "The longer the shelf life of a food, the shorter your life will be." This seems to have a *very*long* shelf life. If #mothernature doesn't want this, why should we??? 🤔🤔🤔 #nutrition#health#repost @coachpetertwist
Fast food once a week?
@tag a fast food lover
When I was traveling the country from LA to NY I was hitting up the quick and easy fast food spots thinking it wouldn’t have that great of an effect on me.
After traveling back from NY, on the road again I indulged in the fast food and occasional beer or two that I promised myself I wouldn’t. I was starting to gain too much fat and I looked very bloated. By the time I had landed back in LA I was 238lbs up from 205lbs 1 year earlier.
For some reason I still didn’t see the problem as I figured it was helping with my “gains” and I could lose fat in no time. I was regretfully wrong.
My mentality was “well I haven’t had fast food this week so it’s ok”. But I didn’t earn a “cheat meal”. I wasn’t working hard enough to deserve a cheat meal but for some reason I would eat one anyway. Thinking this weeks cheat meal is necessary if I want to stay big.
What a crock of shit!
I would have never realized that the effects of an unhealthy diet, traveling, eating on the go, and being lazy would result in a numbed, foggy, clouded mind that even my thinking was “in bad shape”. My mental state was meh. My goals didn’t matter as much, my routine wasn’t as disciplined, and my body and mind felt like an old beat up car struggling to accelerate. IT WAS MY DIET!
After discovering and researching the teachings and lifestyle suggestions of Ray Peat I could finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. My diet, lifestyle, and mindset have completely changed this past year and I’m finally seeing the results I’ve always wanted.
Give up the JUNK and eat for health and wellness because you only have one body and one life. Take care of them both!
Day 9 Post A Plate: new challenge!!! Post some of the "not so healthy foods" that creep onto your plates . Don't get me wrong, I love the seeing all the seasonal healthy food. It's mouthwatering! But, then there's the stuff we're not so quick to post. We all eat the junk from time to time. Who's willing to show off their not so healthy food! Thanks Deb Gustafson for the Krispy Kreme post and Anna Karlene for the brownies! We can all relate 👍 #eat2succeed#postaplate#allfoodsmatter#notrealfood#noveggieshere
When u get a motel room and they have fantastic reviews on their breakfast🤦♀️ not one vegetable in sight!!!I craved vegetables so bad I almost considered driving to the nearest grocery store which was a 10 min drive to get some..
I definitely have changed ALOT in that way! I mean tomatoes on buns once a week at a friend's for "faspa" counts tho right?🤷 I had to adjust to the vegetables and at first I hated it,they say try everything ten times before you say u don't like it so I did. And I love them now,in fact.. I CRAVE them! .
The motel had endless baked goodies to homemade waffles to a row of sugary cereals, heck even their fruit was in sweetened juice🤔 Now I'm not saying you will like all of the vegetables and some you might not be able to eat raw or sauteed/steamed or whatever cuz it gives off a different flavour but seriously challenge yourself to try something 10 times before you say you don't like it. .
Is there a vegetable you have tried at least 10 times and just cannot eat?
😱I love bringing truth to light💕💕
I am aware of what the government is doing to our food (which is why we eat the way we do) and you all need to be AWARE as well.. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU'RE EATING / Feeding your babies.. it's made to look like the real thing.. #questioneverything#notrealfood#salad#wakeup

YEP, THIS WAS MY DINNER.
I did not have the best eating day today.
I started off the day breaking my fast with the pieces of breakfast burritos that my kiddos left on their plate. Three of them did not finish it so I at about half a burritos’ worth.
Made awesome burgers for hubby but I only ate a patty because I was not too hungry.
Then again ate leftover pieces of the taquitos left on kids’ plates and equaled about a full taquito.
Was craving something sweet so bad so I made my cheesecake fluff dessert and devoured it.
Dinner came and I was not hungry. Well I was not hungry for real food to be honest and felt lazy to get started on what was in today’s menu which was Air fryer chicken thighs and bacon wrapped asparagus. That would have been delicious.
So this was my dinner. I am blaming this on pre shark week. 🤷🏽♀️💁🏽♀️ Tomorrow is a new day. I ate this pretty late so I will hope to break at least a 16 hour fast at 11:00AM.
