Look at this wasp and that crazy ovipositor!
This is a “stumpstabber” (Megarhyssa atrata) and they have an amazing ability to somehow locate the grub of horntail wasps within dead/rotting trees and lay their eggs directly on top of them which, unfortunately, become food for the stumpstabber larvae.
Their ovipositors can be over 5 inches long! It’s amazing to me that they can manage such a long, delicate looking organ.
P.S. the last photo shows the holes created by horntail wasps.
This caterpillar might look pretty cool, but he definitely doesn't feel pretty cool! This is a lo moth caterpillar and while he will turn into an absolutely beautiful & colorful moth, right now he's off limits for handling! My arm brushed against him while working in the garden and his bristles stabbed me, leaving stinging welts on my arm! It feels like a good number of bees stung me! 😞 Well, he is safe and sound in our butterfly habitat with all the comfrey leaves he can eat (he seems to love comfrey!) where no one can harm him and he can't harm anyone either! We are happy to watch him transform into a moth- from a distance!😂 #noticenature#gardenfinds
Good morning, Gin Fans! In this weeks #SustainabilitySunday were discussing ways we can reduce paper wastage. Did you know, if every person in the UK recycled just 10% more paper it would save around 5 million trees a year? Check out our blog to see how we're working towards cutting down our paper wastage at Warner Edwards. Https://tinyurl.com/y7cof4yk #NoticeNature#Reduce#Reuse#Recycle#FarmGin
This little speedy guy 🦎caught my eye and was gracious enough to come closer and stare at me while I fumbled for my camera. He is only about 2 inches long.
This week I’ve been trying to focus on nature when I find my thoughts strolling off down a dark path. I was all wound up over how hot and humid it was when I encountered him.
Very grateful he showed up and gave me the opportunity to stop for a moment and change the direction of my thoughts.
I would named him Zippy. I likely won’t ever see him again, but I won’t forget him :) #babylizard 🐊

Not everything is great at the moment but there is great in everything . IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEE IT . I can choose to look at the garden that needs weeding and planting and road that has litter and poop and cars or (scroll) I could look at the bigger picture. The view, the sun, the sky, the distance, live life!
I swear every time I go to the doctor, they always just tell me to drink more water. Here's me trying hah. But seriously! On such a nice day like today I love to be surrounded by nature! I'm always sure to stay hydrated tho! Especially when it's warm & I'm exercising lol Take a minute and enjoy mother earth today!!

Yep, and that’s just looking at the average levels of pollution - it’s even more impressive when you see the extremes 🚲. Data, taken from London Air and compared with the data from the cycling event on Sunday, has highlighted the effect that vehicles have on our air quality. We certainly don’t feel as happy or as healthy when we’re in a car or on a bus as we do when we’re actively travelling 😀
We hope you enjoy a walk or a cycle home this evening☀️
