Hear a word from one of our Captain, Nicole Beasley!
Nicole was a very active sportswoman in her youth, she became one of the first "nippers" in Australia and went on to 10 years of lifesaving training, competition and patrolling at Noosa Surf Club. She has achieved numerous championships including 3 times Ladies Club Champion and Junior Club Champion. "Now that my kids have become independent I was looking for a way to give back and support other kids in the community to get out and have the great opportunities my kids have enjoyed.
And along came Aspirations4Kids – a great bunch of business & sports people getting together to raise funnds for kids to get Kids into Sport that may not have otherwise had the funds or the opportunity." As a Captain, Nicole is making a lot of positive impact on many students across Queensland, and she's hoping to do a lot more in the future! Come along to our next event to have a chat with Nicole and other Captains about how YOU can change lives in Queensland.

At Defib For Life, we continue our advocacy work within community, local, state and federal governments to ensure that sooner rather than later legislative change will occur and ultimately there will be lifesaving defibrillators in every sporting club, school, workplace and public venue across Australia! ❤️ We've been very busy contacting all State Parliamentarians requesting a meeting to discuss how Defib For Life would be ready to get to work with them to keep making a difference. We have had some encouraging response from some Ministers and we look forward to more 🤞
Our World Headquarters team had a great time taking a trip to see @edengardensjax, the home to our relief and development arm, GloDev Inc. It is also the future home of our administrative offices! To find out about aquaponics take a look at our Glodev highlights on our page!

JUNO & BRUTUS
Juno and Brutus grew up in care, along with 15 others the same age last season. Whilst never close in care, they formed a strong bond after soft-release and are often seen hanging out together, eating side by side, relaxing together. This photo was taken last week. Best friends forever. #bff
The second photo was taken this morning. Juno & Brutus, still hanging together as always, and seeking shelter from the very solid rain we’ve had all morning. It’s the first good rain in many months. #drownedrats
@that.chocolate.movement are an amazing example of ONE person making waves just from an IDEA. That Chocolate Movement are a social enterprise making mind-blowingly delicious but good-for-you chocolate and using the profits to feed kids in vulnerable communities.
One bar for you = one meal for a child living in poverty. This is the easiest and most delicious way for you to reach out and hold a little hand in need.

🎉 Happy National Social Workers Day 2018! 🎉
To acknowledge the hard work that our social workers engage in daily and the amazing jobs they do working with our more vulnerable families and communities across Auckland, ATWC organised a free breakfast for all our staff.
It was all fun and games with quizzes and spot prizes. It was also a blessing to host Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri and celebrate this day with their social workers.
It’s a work in progress but we are thrilled to have a new home in which to carefully sort and bundle all the lovely donations we receive and a place to welcome volunteers into. If you would like to donate or volunteer please follow the FB link in our bio or email email@example.com for more re info. #tasmaniancharity#tassiemums#charity#notforprofit
What's a daikon?
Daikon is a type of white, winter radish!. It is characterized by large, rapidly growing leaves and a long, white root which is rich in nutrients.
Daikon has many amazing benefits that include cancer prevention, stronger immune system, lower inflammation, and improved digestion. Further, it helps strengthen bones, detoxify the body, improve respiratory health, and stimulate weight loss.
Use daikon radishes any way you would use a carrot, and then some. Try them baked or boiled in stews and soups or in a stir fry. Also try them lightly steamed with olive oil, salt or lemon juice for flavour, pickle them or just at 'em raw!
The second beneficiary of the proceeds from our upcoming show will be to Safe Horizon. Check them out!

This week is Global Goals Week.
Global Goals Week calls for collective action, creativity, innovation, and commitment to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals for everyone, everywhere.
In 2020 we will be a third of the way through the SDGs. With only two years to go to that crucial milestone - now is the time to inspire people to take action and to press world leaders to achieve what the Goals set out: a rigorous plan to make us the first generation to end extreme poverty, the last generation to be threatened by climate change - and the generation most determined to end injustice and inequality.
Global Goals Week highlights that while positive progress is being made, it is not at sufficient speed to achieve the Goals by 2030.
The Goals recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and threats to biodiversity. The Goals demand that everyone must benefit and that no one must be left behind.
it’s about ... pressing pause! Sometimes you feel like you might want to disconnect. You may feel like being on your own. You may feel the need to just reflect and process. You may not feel like sharing or talking. Take some time to press pause... It may be going for a walk, it may be curling up and reading a book. It may be listening to your favourite music. It may be meditating. It may be, just being still. We all need to sometimes just press pause. You can get back to getting on with things a little later. 💛
🌳It is such a blessing to highlight @realoptionsforwomen as another one of our impressive 2018 Celebrating Life Luncheon Beneficiaries.
💞Serving Collin County and North Dallas for over 25 years, Real Options for Women is a pregnancy resource medical clinic whose mission is to empower women, men and students to make physical, emotional and spiritual choices that affirm life and health.
🧡Real Options is one of the few pregnancy clinics that has a thriving abstinence education program, 180 Degrees, that is offered free of charge to public schools, private schools, retreats and church youth groups.
💪🏼Real Options believes that this education empowers youth to make better choices concerning their sexual health which in turn reduces teen pregnancy incidents in the community.
💚Funds raised on Monday October 29th will be used for the one-year salary and training of a new educator for 180 Degrees to meet the additional growth of this program and to allow them to bring the truth of abstinence to thousands of additional students.

We love how #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season and celebrates community! Once again, your gift to APESF on November 27th will go extra lengths to benefit private school students. 110% of all revenue received by APESF on #GivingTuesday will be used for student scholarships.
This year, APESF is also #GivingBACKTuesday , so we can pay the generosity forward. On top of bumping up the payout percentage, we’re committed to dispersing $100,000 in SEED grants to students in need. SEED Grants are awarded to low-income and at-risk students who need help affording school fees above and beyond tuition. Visit apesf.org/givingtuesday for more information.
