On October 14 I ran the Vancouver Girlfriends run for cancer with my girl @daniellesterba.  It was the first 5k I had done in a while. Up until this point I didn’t know when the next time I would be able to participate in an event like this would be and at so many point during this year it felt like I never would. I’m so excited to keep improving and healing and so thankful for my friends and family who are right there with me. (Particularly those who are down to sign up for a run with less than a months notice 😜) Here’s to keeping on moving forward.

You cannot see your Personal Trainer, or the Physio Therapist, or the Fascial Stretch Therapist once in a blue moon, and expect to be pain free, stronger, or fitter magically with a 21 day fix that is often marketed on instagram to snatch your money.🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ 🍋Does your boss offer you praise for coming into work once a week and doing a half ass job for 21 days?  No. You have to put in time, work, and yes, conviction, to get that promotion for a long TIME. Sometimes years! 🤯But were not talking about work- were talking about your vessel. Resisted Locomotion Workout👇🔥

This is a workout I did during the athlean-x program, try and complete the entire workout in 3 min and 30 seconds, you can also do this for another round if you’d like! 🤘
•
Use 4 plates of either 25, 35, or 45 lbs (dependent on your weight) so If you’re 135lbs and under = 25lb plate / 136-199 = 35lb plate / 200+ = 45lb plate
•
1. Grab one plate, hug it across 
your chest and run it down to the cone 30 yards away. Drop it and sprint back. Perform this 4 times before moving onto the next exercise. 
2. Grab 2 plates (one in each hand) and farmer's carry them down to the cone 30 yards away. Sprint back and repeat one more time with the remaining two plates before moving onto the next exercise
3. Grab one plate and run it down to the cone 30 yards away (carrying it overhead). Drop it and sprint back. Perform this 4 times to finish out this grueling race against the clock!

🚨⚠️🚨#tiptuesday alert featuring The Dumbbell Bench Pullover! !!
This movement focusses on using the The latissimus dorsi(lats), which is a large back muscle that fans out from your upper arm bone to your spine and then extends down to your hip bone. 
To begin this movement- hold the dumbbell between your hands in a lock position. Lower yourself to the bench where both the shoulder blades and head are resting on the edges, hips should be kept up and in alignment with the core keeping it engaged throughout the movement. While keeping your arms straight, lower the weight slowly in an arc behind your head while breathing in until you feel a stretch in your lats. Hold for a count of two and then return slow and controlled while exhaling to the starting position. Grow your wings team!

I still remember when starting this journey for the first time and not being able to do more than 3 burpees!! That’s not even close to the 10 that they do in that round😐 I would get soo winded and not be able to even lift my legs 🤷🏽‍♀️
But because I have kept at it and continued with these programs I am now able to do several rounds of these burpee kicks🔥 YASS!! ——-

I’ve come a long way so today I’m clapping for my damn self 👏🏼August2012↔️August2018
I remember how uncomfortable I was in that picture on the left. Covered in clothes at the beach 🏖 because I was too embarrassed to walk around in a bathing suit. Shortly after seeing that picture was when I got tired of my own excuses and BS and finally made a change to a healthier lifestyle. I started exercising and eating healthier and stayed consistent with it! 6 years later and you’ll find me in the gym 5-6x a week because I enjoy being there (most of the time 😜). Fitness has really changed my life and my mindset. I challenge myself daily, face my fears, fail and try again,  instead of giving up. But the most important thing I’ve learned on this weight loss journey is loving myself again, and you can’t put a price on that. I’m a better Mom to my kids, a better wife, daughter, sister, Aunt, friend, etc... I am forever grateful that I decided to change my life and didn’t give up on myself! 💗
