I sometimes wonder if new inventions are making our lives better.
They certainly claim to make our lives easier, but are they making our lives happier?
A simple example is the new Westfield 'ticketless' parking. A great idea absolutely. It allows us to drive straight into the carpark so that we can get to where we are going even faster.
Very convenient, I agree. And seems so much better than stopping the car, winding down the window and reaching for the ticket.
However those small pauses in our day allow us to slow down just a bit and get present.
So next time you are using something that makes your life easier, maybe just check in to see if it is also making your life happier.
Holy 💩 balls I just made the most amazing (healthy) peanut butter crunchy caramel slice!

I feel the rainy day activities have been pushed to the max in our home. A whole month of rain (not that I am complaining, I love the rain) Today my mum and I sat on the beach, no one else was doing the same, we felt the soggy sand between our toes and looked out at the horizon. A mother and daughter moment that we are so blessed to have. So thank you rain, for that!

Tryptophan, an essential amino acid, is one of these. Essential in that our body can’t synthesise tryptophan so we must obtain it from food.
Tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin which is a precursor to melatonin, our sleep hormone.
