📍Tongariro Northern Circuit, New Zealand •
•The first Great Walk I will talk about is Tongariro (aka Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings )
•This Great walk takes about 3-4 days to do the whole thing. You can also do an 8 hour hike up to the red crater and the green & blue lakes 💧
•In total there are 10 Great walks in New Zealand, many of them taking many days. HOWEVER, you can do portions of any of the walks if you are limited on time 😉
Solo travel day today involved making friends in kayaks (and the guide then cropping them from the photos), empty beach exploring, coffee and a journal catch up and checking into "The Cell Block" hostel.... And reuniting with friends for amazing Thai food 🚣♀🏖️☕📒
Oh how I’ve missed the ocean 🌊
Been stuck in Wellington city for over 2 months now. I really needed some fresh sea air 🌇
Wellington does have a harbour, but it’s not the same as clambering over rocks and looking out into the abyss 🌌
I’ve missed it. Being a beach baby, born and raised only a few minutes from the sea, I’ve always found solace in sitting on the sand staring out into the open water. Getting some headspace and enjoying the sound of waves crashing 🌅
It important to take time out to be with nature. To walk barefoot on the ground. Listen to the sounds of Mother Nature. Go on adventures. Explore the earth 🌏 .
A story of a trail. In 2017 I did a long hike from Mangawhai Heads to Cape Reinga. It was roughly 380 km by walk. I'd like to share with you my story and encourage you to step out from your comfort zone. 🤗
1st day I found myself alone walking along the road and I felt the ultimate freedom: no job, no place to stay, only me and my backpack.
Just a three-hour drive or 35-minute flight from Auckland, the Bay of Islands is one of New Zealand's most stunning regions of natural beauty (and that's no easy feat when there's such fierce competition).
Climb aboard a sailing catamaran, complete with private cabins, a spacious lounge, outdoor dining space and trampolines in the boughs for relaxing and dolphin watching.
Sail through the archipelago, stopping off at remote beaches and Maori cultural sites. Swim, snorkel, paddle-board and kayak through the dazzling blue waters to soak up the idyllic surroundings.
Home to some of the world's most breathtaking landscapes, all courtesy of Mother Nature, here you'll create memories that you'll cherish forever.
As a young British female, that has travelled and now living New Zealand. I can honestly say that I have never felt unsafe. My heart aches for a stranger, her family and friends. The story of Grace has hit home for many of us. This evening, a town in Auckland had a turn out of around 200 people. We lit candles, laid down flowers. We sang and we cried. We stood in the pouring rain. We will remember you. I’m sorry it was for these reasons. #gracemillane#newzealand#northisland#auckland#remember#sea#sunset#candles#flowers#goodbye#imsorry#flyhigh#rip
