This week has been mental (I feel like I say this every week but I promise you, it’s true!) it’s been the sort of week that could throw me off track and find me huddled in a corner power eating Doritos. To be fair, I’ve had a lot of banana bread from the coffee shop by #noregrets - I still stuck to my exercise goals and drank my shake. So I smashed it!
Driving home from a vendor event and the rain was pouring! I knew it was going to rain, but not this much this fast! I had to put on my emergency lights and drive close to 30 mph with stopping at multiple points. I saw three major crashes through this with police and ambulances. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sacred out of my mind thinking “Am I going to make it home?” Then your mind starts thinking about your life and how incredibly happy you will be when you get home. To see your family or to see your pets or your bed-the love and comfort..sometimes you just can’t put into words how much that means and how much we can, at times, take that all for granted.
I said a prayer over and over again that this rain would let up, and I would make it home. 🌧 The rain didn’t let up, but this truck was in front of me until I got off on my familiar path I drive all the time. It’s lights blinking and showing me the way yard by yard. That was my answer to my prayer. I’m very grateful for that.
Now I’m home, and I’m so happy to hear my crazy kids again (at least for now 😉) looking forward to movie watching and helping get everyone feeling better after this week’s stomach flu #scared 😱 #rainydays#driveslowly#turnthatradiodown#prayersanswered
Alright ya’ll, REAL TALK... what is the NUMBER 1 struggle you deal with that prevents you from achieving your health and/or fitness goals?
Is it body image? Sleep deprivation? Maintaining a balanced/healthy diet? Self-confidence? Patience and kindness towards other people? Motivation to workout?
I don’t know about you, but during prep, all of these things definitely come to mind for me personally. In order for me to get/keep me motivated, I make sure that my mental state is in the right place. I need good music that I ENJOY cause come on—no one can hear or judge what you’re listening to, so blast that guilty-pleasure boy band you love so much 😉 ALSO, I need to keep my fitness attire updated. Shopping therapy is a thing and if I feel I look good, I workout harder 💪🏻 Not only do I do part-time fitness coaching to give myself obligation to be healthy, but I also follow a CRAP TON of motivational people on Instagram and I keep my #fitfam close because support is EVERYTHING! Don’t surround yourself with people that tempt you to fall from your goals. Make sure you have someone who understands what you’re going through and who you can count on to bring you up! Tell yourself you’re going to be happy today. Tell yourself that you are going to put in full effort to be the BEST YOU! During HIIT cardio, visualize the stage and what you want to look like. #NoRegrets Treat yourself to come coffee and protein ice cream and binge out on Netflix and naps cause you can 😘
