But I have to remind myself that things did not just come to me and I didn’t get here because of luck.  I had to work for everything I have.  It wasn’t always a straight path.  It took dedication, persistence and hard work.  But that’s the way I like it.  It feels better to earn something with sweat and tears than to be handed something with no effort at all. Also truth: I work my ass off every day because I can control that. Ehh... there it was, a dull, irritating sensation to remind me, I would not be running pain free today. I pushed through, highly over compensating at first, and then I hit a downhill and fell right back into my groove. Standing tall, core, and glutes engaged, and feeling good... mostly.

My motivation has been low lately. I took a much needed total rest on Monday. Yesterday I skipped my strength training session and my track workout. I even got on the treadmill but couldn’t bring myself to push play (the storms didn’t help). I know I haven’t been eating enough as my mileage increases or getting enough sleep and I’m working on that. I said forget a plan or mileage today and just ran. It took a few miles to get into it but I finally feel like maybe that spark is coming back. Moral is a few missed workouts won’t change your goal. Sometimes our minds need a rest as well as our bodies. We always reminds others of that but to so hard to follow our own advice. -

One of the reasons is due to an increased consumption of antioxidants from fruit and vegetables. Went along to the local running group and explored some bits of Northampton.
. 
Nice long downhill straits, trail, abandoned railway track, bit of an incline and some pretty views.

The running bits of this run were mostly around 9mm so few runs out with this lot and I’ll hopefully soon be on my way back to fitness!

After Monday's barbells & kettlebell workout, I didn't want to work out AT ALL yesterday. . .

I got my mind right running through the Guang Ping Yang style form...uhh... I pretended to #beaunicorn🦄 😂😂😂. I decided to try one of those infamous 300 swing workouts with a 24kg. . .

It was easier than I thought it would be, but you know what? . .

Back in the middle of June when I committed to getting on my #BruceLeeFlow I couldn't do this workout. I gassed on the first round of 50 swings.

Life lesson 101. Don’t eat a ton of veg protein before you train 💩😂
I love the saying “no-one cares about your protein intake until they hear you are vegetarian “. ( Oh please, give me more unsolicited advice- I love it, really!). It can be used in all walks of life. Tell people you are trying to lose weight and you get bombarded with lots of information and miraculous eating plans.
Want to know the 5 simple steps to staying healthy and/or losing weight? 
1. Portion control
2. Eat more veggies 
3. Cut out processed food & sugar
4. Prepare to fail, fail to prepare ie,
Meal Prep
5. Limit your alcohol and drink more water
There are many other tips, but I find these to be the main ones.  It really boils down to 
Eat clean and don’t eat too much. Eat to fuel your body, not fuel your emotions. ( Believe me, we are all guilty to scarfing down chocolate on period day, or ordering take out when tired and emotional). Now I’m off to attempt round 2 of my yummy dinner. This time, I’ll let it digest properly. PM me for falafel, hummus, sweet potato or quinoa salad recipes

Talking about choice is important. Understand that a personal choice should only affect you. Saying eating animals is a personal choice is wrong because the animals killed dont want to die and sacrifice their offspring. More importantly it is the leading causes to health illnesses and planetary destruction. Protein, calcium, omega 3 and B12 in not produced by animals, know the truth.

Actually you are normalizing the unhealthy diet and cruelty that the food comes from. Teaching children compassion is one of the greatest things you can teach them. The first form of hate that is taught is that one animal is special and another can be tortured and killed to produce 5 mins of pleasure for taste buds. There is a reason kids go to pick apples but not to a slaughter house.

Talking about choice is important. Understand that a personal choice should only affect you. Saying eating animals is a personal choice is wrong because the animals killed dont want to die and sacrifice their offspring. More importantly it is the leading causes to health illnesses and planetary destruction. Protein, calcium, omega 3 and B12 in not produced by animals, know the truth. Missing the trails of the Peaks and Dales. I’ve spoilt myself recently with some bloody gorgeous runs and hikes. I’ve always been obsessed with the countryside, hills, trails, lakes, rivers all my life, but always as a walker. Now I’ve started running off-road and I love it, and tonight pounding the tarmac track of the park just didn’t cut it. I felt sloppy and uninspired and had no motivation to even attempt a sprint session 🙈 note to self: go to club for speed! So excited to be back running here on Sunday for my long run. 15miles around Derwent and Howden reservoirs 😍 I have 16 on the plan but this is undulating and far more challenging that 16 out and back down the Monsal trail like I usually do 😝
