Some of the best moments in my life have been when I have given and/or sacrifices in some way, shape or form, financially! These sacrifices force me to focus on what is most important in my life. So when I decided that I wanted to take a break from my career to adjust to a new state, schools, neighborhood, and change in general, I had to give up some of the things I liked getting the most.... lash extensions, highlights every 5 weeks, manicures/pedicures... etc.... And in stead of looking at all of those as sacrifices, I look at them as opportunities to allow new growth physically, emotionally, and mentally. For me these sacrifices are ways that allow for change and for the shedding of the old skin and the coming of the new. It makes me appreciative, grateful, and present in the moment. My main reason for taking time off from my career is to be with my kids and husband as we transition to and through all of the changes. Being able to be a full-time mom and wife over the last three months has been so rewarding and I am so grateful to have this time with my babies! Moving so far away from what you considered home is overwhelming, exciting, and adventurous all at the same time! While I have given up so many things, I also realized that I am not ready to embrace all signs of aging, specifically my gray hair. It is a small thing that has driven me crazy over the last two weeks. It is like you wake up and all of gray comes in overnight! I am not ready for gray hair, yet. My take away- I wish I had known that NOT having gray hair was my only necessity a long time ago! I would have saved so much money and time! I am in a really great place even with all of the change!! Things are really great! #blessed#nograyhair#thesmallstuff#payattentiontothesmallstuff#thelittlethingsinthislife#prayoften#listen#observe#learn

I’m not ready to rock gray hair yet lol But I’m #gettingOld#noGrayHair#boxHairDye#diy lol 😂 #StillThirtySomething lol for like 5 more months 😜😂😆🔥♥️
When moving to a new place, the new and unknown can be a bit stressful or overwhelming. For me, one of the little stressers is finding a new hairstylist. Last week as I was exploring Burns Court area, I walked past Derek The Salon and my favorite hair products, Oribe, were displayed in the window. So I decided I would try this salon. What an awesome choice! I found a very talented colorist & stylist, @brivanhoven, and a great salon, @derekthesalon.
Bri is friendly and professional and listened carefully to what I was hoping for in a hair style. She is the first stylist in 5 years since I’ve been coloring my hair to suggest low lights. I absolutely love my hair color. I’m also very pleased with my new sassy hair style. It’s very flattering and it makes me look younger. Take the stress out of looking for a new colorist and stylist and book an appointment with Bri.
Back in the day when I was first starting my career in TV I was a regular guest on the Martha Stewart Show. So many great people and memories from that run. This pic is from a segment where I recognized Martha’s property in Katonah, NY as a @nationalwildlife Certified Wildlife Habitat after I helped her hang owl nesting boxes in her woods and barn.
“I’m gonna wash that gray right out of my hair.” I started thinking about the things that make me feel better about me. I can be so critical about myself. One thing that always makes me have a little more self-confidence is my hair. Funny how I allow my hair makes such a difference for me. I am trying to learn to embrace my gray hair but not there yet! It’s so important to find something that makes you feel better about you! #NoGrayHair#LoveYourself#BeYourOwnHero
**ThrowBack Thursday** If I may use Hoss Cartwright's favorite statement... "Dad burnit!" Saturday, July 28, 2018 was "National Day of the Cowboy" and I missed it! So, I submit this photo for your consideration. I'm on an actual "quarter horse". I was doing some great riding until a kid came by and stuck a quarter in the slot and the horse bucked me off!! Remembering the happiest, most fun, hot and humid day of my life seven years later wishing we could go back in time❤️Thank you to everyone who endured our wedding, sweated through their outfits for us, drank all the Crown Royal in MN and made us laugh until we cried.
