we've watched sunrises slowly unveil the beautiful layers of sandstone, siltstone and mudstone. the afternoon clouds shadow dance atop the canyons, and the #sunsets painted every corner of the #earth & #sky . we would all sit, quietly gazing, at every inch of beauty that lay before us. this is #ourlife , and we are #happy .|

The mountains of the world are always beckoning to me, I must go to them to escape and be at peace. The goal that I am hell bent on making come to fruition is to make my life THE escape and make the “everyday life” the vacation.
Yesterday. Climbing to the Alcove House in Bandelier National Monument. This alcove is 140 ft. above the floor of the canyon. It is reachable by 4 wooden ladders and some natural stone stairs. In the alcove is a restored kiva. I can’t imagine climbing these ladders with the supplies needed for your family.
