"The heron stands in water where the swamp
Has deepened to the blackness of a pool,
Or balances with one leg on a hump
Of marsh grass heaped above a musk-rat hole.
He walks the shallow with an antic grace.
The great feet break the ridges of the sand,
The long eye notes the minnow's hiding place.
His beak is quicker than a human hand.
He jerks a frog across his bony lip,
Then points his heavy bill above the wood.
The wide wings flap but once to lift him up.
A single ripple starts from where he stood."

Yesterday was just one of those days!
You know the ones that most parents can relate too... dealing with “she pushed me”, “she hit me”, “she’s not sharing”, “she’s taking up too much couch”, “I’m hungry” to the point of being driven completely insane!
By late afternoon I walk into the kitchen to discover Miss Three with black texta all over her face (thankfully not the permanent type), and one section of grout on the floor turned a lovely shade of pink with a suspicious pencil laying nearby! 😫
After madly scrubbing the floor and confiscating all pencils and textas in sight while Miss Five stomped around, I decided a change of scenery was needed for all!
It was getting close to sunset, but there was rain on the way. Right. Put some warm clothes on, and get in the car, we are going for a quick drive to see if we can spot a sunset!
We did a lap around Corinella, stopping in a few spots where I could jump out of the car and snap a few quick shots before continuing on. We didn’t find a sunset, just some clouds and rain.
