Day #15 - Halfway through the month and managed to gain 5LBS !
I was agitated today, so tired of dealing with garbage! This explains my sluggish run but i still did it! Yeah, i can be introverted and insecure with a smile on my face. Doesn't mean a thing i still sing!
The T.V. is talking
The telephone's ringing
The lights are all on and the radio's screaming
A million distractions are stealing my heart from You
I'm tired and empty

It weakens my knees and it breaks my defenses

Running before having our son and running after is definitely different. As would be expected. 💙
Before I had him I ran whatever I had on my schedule without question, ran through whatever course I felt like that day, didn’t take much along, and could choose whatever time of day I wanted.
After I had him I learned quickly running wouldn’t be on my schedule much anymore, I had to pack for 2 and always make sure I had my phone and lots of snacks, it takes twice as long to get out of the house, and sometimes my schedule has to be adapted.
BUT guess what! I also get this amazing little training partner who sees this world through completely different eyes. Who I get to spend these wonderful moments with that I’ll never get back. And who truly makes our lives so much more wonderful 💙👶🏻
It’s not always easy and my type A personality has had a hard time some days adapting BUT it’s been the most rewarding experience of my life!
Today I wanted 8 miles and we got in 6 because he was done being in the stroller 3 miles in. I wanted to end the week at 50 miles and ended at 48.5 miles instead and I can honestly say I don’t care! You can look at runs in 2 different ways (the positives and negatives):
1️⃣ I got in 13.15 MILES! My longest run in a while!
2️⃣ I felt so much better than last week.
3️⃣ It was overcast the entire outdoor portion.
4️⃣ My legs felt surprisingly fresh after a couple tougher runs lately.
5️⃣ Effort felt much easier today.
1️⃣ I got poured on the last 3.5 Miles (though in some ways I could look at this as a positive).
2️⃣ To fit my run in with our schedule and a toddler today I had to break it up and get 5 on the treadmill early and 8 outside about 1.5 hrs later.
3️⃣ My treadmill messed up this morning so I got less in earlier than I’d wanted.
4️⃣ My iPod was dead when I went to use it which means 13 total miles with no music 🤷🏻♀️.
5️⃣ My stomach wasn’t happy for half of my second run. .
We always have two choices - look at the POSITIVES! 🙌 13 miles in the bank for Saturday and a fun family day ahead! ❤️👪

Back in the #PNW and another year of fiery summers.
The smoke covered the sun as it came out this morning.
We got to figure this out.
I usually don’t put my full work outs but @myers.andrew told me yesterday that he was going to do x2 whatever I did. So on top of the run I did 25 100lbs ball over the shoulder and 50 45lbs plate floor to ceiling.
An infantry man’s workout should be easy for a grasshopper that carried a light carbine.
