I fell in love with these plates when I saw them and despite not having many household items to my name at that point, I had to have them! I still love them now but FYI they aren't so good for eating soup. 🍵 🚫 😂
When your mum tells you shes been making your favourite buns it would be rude not to visit her right? 🙊 She gave me the rejects to bring home but i think even they look amazing 😍😂 Yesterday Alex returned the favour his cousin did for us just over a month ago and was best man at their wedding, and we had such a lovely day from start to finish ❤ A relaxing night was definately needed tonight! 😴
Go bold or go home! 👊
Last weekend I stayed in the possibility the most instagramable hotel ever, @room2hometels. And given it classes itself as a 'hometel' I would say that qualifies for #myhousethismonth
I love the idea of a floor to ceiling headboard. It creates quite the statement.
Thanks for having us Room2! We'll be back. 👍🏻 #Day16#accentwall#Room2
“No act of kindness however small is ever wasted” - Aesop ✨
I went for reflexology today and had a chat to my reflexologist about something difficult that happened recently.
She has the most beautiful, well-kept garden and we often talk about which flowers are in season as she knows I love flowers too.
When I was leaving she cut these beautiful garden roses for me to take home along with a hug and some kind words.
I know to her this was the least she could do for me, it just made sense to her to show kindness in that moment. It did not cost anything or take a lot of time but it genuinely meant so so much to me.
We each have the power to turn someone’s day/week around with an act of kindness; and no act of kindness is ever too small ✨💕 #actsofkindness#beautifulsoul#noactofkindnessiseverwasted#gardenroses#homegrownroses#freshflowers#nihomes
The shower door is going on today and tomorrow! 😁 We should be able to have an actual shower by Thursday!!! *Faints*
This post probably won't knock anyone's socks off but I love my new bathroom floor. 😋 It works with the rest of the room so well.
Can't wait to share the finished room with you all. Ekk!
THE HIDE ... Don't ya wish you could just hide away here for a few hours with a mug of coffee... or a glass of wine... it's 5 O'Clock somewhere, am I right? 🙌🏻🍷and watch the birds frolicking in the bird bath? My mother&father-in-law have the most fantastic garden. This little hideaway is tucked down at the bottom and is the most delightful little summerhouse you will ever see 🏠 how I wish I was there right now 💐
I am really enjoying finding little ways to bring this shade of pink into our bedroom. It lightens everything up and compliments Dove Tale so well.
These pink velvet cushions are from the cushion masters @hmhome 👏🏻
Monday Blues.... Why do Monday's always seem like the worst day of the week? What makes them so different from Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday really?
Well today got off to a slow start at nitravelnews HQ but has been mighty productive since then and tonight we have a guy coming to he house to show us some options for guttering and facia 🙌🏻🏚 #nihomes#niblog#niblogger#nibloggers#irishblogger#irishbloggers
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and you're feeling ready to get stuck into another week. 💪🏻
I was so pleased to find this little basket for my console table. It is such a good colour match it just blends right in. 😊
We have had so many questions in recent weeks asking about the layout of our kitchen, the size of it and where exactly the pantry/larder is at, so I hope this angle can help you visualise it. Our kitchen / diner is 8.5m x 4.7m and the island is 2m x 1m. The door to the left of our fridge units takes you into our larder. A few people have been asking about hidden larders where the entry door is concealed as being part of the kitchen. Although these look amazing we never really considered this as we wanted our pantry to be a separate room where we could add extra insulation and keep the food cooler. For this to work the door needs to be sealed as best possible to keep the heat out which I don't think would be easy to do using the same door as the kitchen cabinets 🤔
Our kitchen has stayed clean today as we were invited to my mum and dad's house for Sunday lunch and Alex's mum and dad's for tea. We love Sundays spent with family, even better when I don't have to do any cooking 🙊
This week we ordered the new windows and front door for No.28. We ordered full size single pane tilt and turn windows for the entire house and a brand new front door package 🙌🏻 and I'm trying to convince Alan to paint the pebbledash (he's one of these strange beings that actually likes the stuff) so I've pinched these pictures off the internet for inspiration.
I'm leaning towards white window surrounds with a light beige on the rest of the house to compliment the new black front door. What do you think?
If you want to know our feelings on swapping out the original sash windows for upvc you can read all about it on the blog (link in bio)
So the whole egg chair situation has progressed.. 😅 I couldn't help myself but get a wee bit creative with it. 🌺
This isn't the best pic as it is missing it's cushions and throw, but you get the idea. This is my little corner of the garden. 💖
So we have had a bath in our dining room for the last 6 months! #nojoke
There have been moments when I have thought about just throwing a sheet of MDF over the top of it, along with a table cloth, and just making do. 😅
But thankfully the warm weather has meant we have still had somewhere decent to dine! 🛀🏼🍴#diningalfresco
Don't think we have ever shared this angle of our kitchen before, we love this open planned living space ❤ This morning we woke to find that 3000 people are following our journey 🙈 We made this account for inspiration whilst designing our home and never once thought people would be interested in seeing ours! It's been a long 2 years and a lot of hard work and DIY from Alex to get us to this point of living in our home and we still have a lot to do, but we are excited for what is to come as we continue to finish our home room by room ❤
This chair was my mum's when she was a little girl. It will always have a special place in my heart. ❣️ It definitely has the vintage vibes!
I could never bring myself to paint it. It's scratches and scrapes tell it's story.

Let's be honest, this post is really about the shoes. 💁🏼♀️ Any other secret shoe lovers out there masquerading as interior lovers? 😉❣️ A bit of late night instagraming for #myhousethismonth as it has been a busy day with lots of progress in the bathroom. Can't wait to post about it. In fact, I might go and do a little insta-story right now... #patternitup#day6#sophiawebster
Last week was our first proper Sunday in our home and we decided to have 20 people over for Sunday tea 🤷 I think our open planned kitchen and living space passed that test with plenty of room for everyone ✅🙌🏼 This week has definately been more chilled out, we have taken the term 'day of rest' very literally and done nothing allllll day. The perfect Sunday ❤
Bath or Shower for #myhousethismonth .. ha ha ha 😂😂😂😂😭 I would literally take anything at the moment, bath, shower, paddling pool... bucket! 😅
These photos were taken a year apart. The first one is how the bathroom stands today and the second is from when we optimisticly started ripping out the old bathroom 52 weeks ago. I think it is safe to say there have been lots of lessons learned. 😉
Hiding from the holiday packing upstairs and this is probably one of my favourite spots to sit in the house.
It looks into our ensuite and also our over the hills towards the mournes.
When we built I didn’t want a door from our bedroom into our ensuite as I wanted our bedroom to feel like a sanctuary.
The bath had to be free standing and I just love the mocha colouring of it.
Although I love how a bath looks, i’m definitely a shower girl!
Playing along today with #myhousethismonth day 5.
I love how these shelves add to the feel of my kitchen. I am constantly playing about with the layout of the different bits and rearranging the plants. It's the perfect spot for my herbs too.
