The difference between a master 💪 and a novice 👶 is that a master has failed more times than a novice has even tried. 😯 I am facing some set-backs this week, but new challenges have me feeling new under the sun (or clouds, ☁️ as the case may be here in north Idaho).
This is my first attempt at imaging the glowing Orion Cloud Complex surrounding the Orion constellation. ✨ Notice the magenta C-shaped cloud glowing in the center of frame — this is what I’m after... 📷 I have lots of room to grow into this new target, and I’m looking forward to frigid winter nights spent staring at the Hunter in the Sky. The trailing arm of the Milky Way galaxy is looking like bright clouds running up the left side of frame.
I shot this over a big round hay bale - this type weighs about 1,000lb (~500kg). 🏋🏻♂️ I made the foreground image here using a technique called focus stacking - notice the sharp focus on the hay bale... and also on the horizon... and also on the stars. 🤯 This impossibly sharp focus is created using multiple exposures, focused on different objects in the scene; combining the exposures into one image makes for sharp focus across the whole frame. 🤓
36 exposures stacked for noise reduction
Each 10 seconds, f/1.8, ISO 8000
2 exposures focus stacked
Each 4 minutes, f/2.8, ISO 400
All taken near Genesee, Idaho.
Here a pretty old picture of myself it was taken in 2015! This is without filter an anything, just firework😅
Do you like firework?💥🔥🎆🎇

Day 8. My first impresion when I stepped into Sentosa was, “Okay, this is such a huge capitalistic tourist attraction.” And then I saw this really, really huge Merlion... it struck me that, although yes, it is capitalistic, I also don’t want to reduce it as only that because the architects, engineers, builders, artists, dreamers, makers all worked together to give birth to this amazing man-made wonderland.
Side note: Is it only I who think that this Merlion looks like a #Direwolf ? Swipe ⬅️ #exploreSingapore#10000Ksteps#movinginbliss#nightshots
Day 8. I spent 40 minutes walking around Harbourfront looking for the monorail station going to Sentosa 😅. I wandered around thinking that the station was outdoors. The first lady I asked pointed me to a totally different location. Thankfully, the next one I asked was more descriptive and gave me a clear landmark.
Finally, after a year and a half, I discovered how to go here. Next time I’m here, it’s with @lezleigh_areen13 @lezlie_areen @lezlei_areen08 l. Ba’t dami mong account?!? #exploreSingapore#10000steps#movinginbliss#photowalk#nightshots
