This is what we imagine your breakfast bowl to look like filled with Almo. White rippling milk. As zen as Clair de Lune on @spotify or as hypnotic and calming staring into this minimalist piece of art can be. Angello Savelli 1981 ‘Love Letter...’ brought to you by @studiosix
As a parent do we need to know much about art to share it with our kids? Well, in my case the answer is a resounding no! We are fortunate to live in Melbourne where there are so many opportunities to share art with kids. In this instance at NGV’s MoMA exhibition. Coupled with a visit to their kids special New York New York exhibition kids are reminded that art can be whimsical and fun, and is anything but stodgy (even if they don’t like posing for photos) #melbournemum#melbournewithkids#ngv#travelwithkids#ngv @ngvmelbourne #rockthatmuseumkid#ngvkids
Australia is currently ranked 39 in the world for quality education. For a country who consistently ranks high for standard of living and quality of life it is concerning that our education system continues to fall behind. The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way takes a critical look at the schooling system in The United States, comparing it to Finland, Poland and South Korea who make up the top ranking schooling systems in the world. While the topic of education will always be divisive, Ripley’s research on education leaves the reader with useful tips for parents, teachers and policy makers. She explores the importance of high level teacher training, the importance of valuing teachers and what to look for in potential schools.

Apparating to, what I call as Wellington’s bigger-city sibling, Melbourne. This is the first stop. 🧐
Had an amazing time viewing classical to modern art collections housed in the numerous galleries. The ancient cultures are my fave. What art calls to you?
Andy Warhol was king of the Pop Art movement.
Although he worked in a number of media his most famous works were created using silkscreen and lithography. When he had achieved some fame, Andy began to use silkscreen to create his art and to mass-produce images.
Warhol called his studio The Factory. He hired many assistants to separate himself from his art.
In addition to creating art, Warhol started Interview magazine, opened a night club and created two cable TV shows.
Andy almost died when he was shot three times in the chest by Valerie Solanis. Valerie was an ardent feminist and one of many who thought Warhol was abusive and controlling. She thought that he deserved to die. Warhol was at one point pronounced dead, but was revived and slowly recovered.
Warhol had so many possessions that it took Sotheby’s a total of nine days to auction off all of his stuff. In the end, his estate was able to make over $20 million. He died at age 58.
A little while back i started making a mental list of my favourite artists and my favourite works of theirs and decided within my lifetime i would make the effort to go see my favourite piece from every artist i like. Today I saw 3 pieces on my list. 🌻#ngv#moma#vangogh
