New Zealand’s ‘Common Dolphin’ or ‘Kākahi’ we’re often described as Taniwha (water spirit) in Māori mythology but always as the hero - messengers between islands, canoe guides, kidnapping sabotages etc. ~

Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World 🇳🇿
Was a unique place offering visitors a sneek peek into the Antarctic expeditions and aquatic life. The tickets were a bit pricey considering you could traverse the entire place in a little over half an hour.
However, my favourite part was meeting the penguins. You can see them loiter and make an occasional noise with their dancing voice box that rolls up & down. Aquatic life on display was beautiful and I quite liked the expedition simulation sets that were made for the visitors (in 2 other pics of this post) to get a feel of those risky, gutsy journeys in the ship to the Antarctic.
