A new cute little bar/deli opening this week just round the corner from me. This end of town (Preston Park) in Brighton is really changing for the better and its lovely to have watched the alterations over the last four years. Free coffees at Bubgaroosh apparently tomorrow if they manage to stick to their opening day targets. It’s going to be waaaaaay too easy for me to get treats now! I will barely need to move from the sofa! #bungaroosh#delicatessen#barsinbrighton#brighton#prestonpark#regeneration#neweatery
POMO: 30 minutes wait for a half-empty restaurant.
To be welcomed by a group of servers is a bit overwhelming, especially when you’re unable to accommodate your guests. Learning that we've to wait for at least half an hour, we all walked out hoping to find another new eatery to explore, but it did occur me to re-check with them on the waiting period for a half-empty restaurant. Upon inquiry, they were understaffed hence taking additional time to serve food which should have been stated initially. .
As a blogger, I knew how to kill time: photography, and food-watching (closely watching what others are eating). .
Review: Coming Soon!
Most of us are familiar with the feeling you get when you're having your mood swings and you know that only food can fix it. Yesterday was one of those days. Taking a risk, we decided to try this new place in town, The Brasserie. I was not disappointed with the risk we took.
I was impressed by the variety they had on their menu card, the great ambiance, the amazing decor, the courteous staff.
I ordered Chicken fillet with sundried tomato sauce from their special menu, it was recommended to me by the waiter himself, he told me it was spicy. Being a fan of spicy food, i ordered it. The sauce was good, the chicken was properly cooked, but it didnt had the spice level that i was expecting. I mentioned it on the comment card. Being courteous as they were, they presented us with a free dessert after the meal for honestly mentioning the flaw of their dish.
Next we ordered Spiced Grilled Chicken. The marination it had was truly finger licking. I loved the presentation and idea of Quinoa Salad served along with the chicken. Dishes like these make you feel good about what you're eating because it's also healthy.
Lastly Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo was very light and creamy. Taste was a bit bland but the the chicken and Garlic Bread complemented it well.
A very economical and beautifully decorated place. Must be visited by everyone! The service, the food quality is great, you wont be disappointed!
I officially ate the worst poached chicken tonight. The chicken was not fresh and tasted off. Friends know how much I love eating chicken and for me to refuse a fresh plate, you can jolly well imagine how awful it was. Not worth the risk of getting food poisoning.
Just when I was about to leave the coffee shop hungry, a lady walked past me with a plate of fried gyozas. They smelled good. And I was not disappointed ~ they actually tasted pretty good! These gyozas are deep fried and served with chilli oil and ginger in vinegar. 10 pcs of gyoza for RM8. I’ll be back for the steamed ones one day! Happy that there are now two coffee shops in my hood serving gyozas.
Nighthawks 461 Broadway @5th St Troy NY now open. Cheeseburger with hand cut fries was well worth a return visit. Hoping they do breakfast sandwiches soon too. Staff very friendly. Bright space is appealing with a smallish bar. Oh, and the original tin ceiling is key. #TroyNY#neweatery @chefsconsortium
Just had the most tastiest meal the new @fayreshare in Victoria Park village. Gorgeous old kitchen style surroundings with a menu focused on sharing big plates! Beer chicken, wild mushrooms and butterbeans, sticky wings and ribs and artic roll for dessert. Great food, great staff, great prices #stuffedasf#neweatery 👌🏽
Turk Pazari: where’s the atlas?
If you see a photo of Santonri hanging at an eatery that’s named ‘Turk Pazari’, you’re bound to question their geography.
In fact, there’s nothing Turkish about the place except for the tea and the delights. Surprisingly, you’ll even spot Mexican sandwiches and Fajita Pizza in their very limited menu.
However, Turk Pazari takes you back to those good ol’ days when Pizza Hut served flavorsome pizzas. (Only 90s kids can relate.)
Mexican Chicken (sandwich)
Istanbul Delight (pizza)
@barcelos.pk - A new eatery in town!
It is a medium-sized, well lit place located at Boat Basin, adjacent to Tao.
The decor, ambience, logo, sauce bottles, and the entire menu gives you a very Nandos kinda vibe, but it has much more to offer. A greaaatt taste, quality and good value for money!
What we ordered?
Chicken Stir Fry 🍛 - chicken and lots of veggies sautéed in their veri peri sauce. Ordered it on staff’s recommendation and glad we did. Generous serving size and great taste. 8/10.
Flame Grilled Chicken 🍗 - Juicy, succulent chicken, covered with their veri peri sauce, served with a side of fries 🍟 It was such a delight. I personally liked it better than Chicken Stir Fry. 9/10
For drinks 🥤 we ordered - .
🍸 Mint Lemonade - always a treat!! So refreshing to sip down with our main course. 9/10.
🍋 Portuguese Lemonade - this lemon, chilly and mint infused drink 🥤 was slightly different than the one i have had at Nandos! It was more on the spicy and tangy side, and nothing I would want to order again.
I would prefer mint lemonade over this one anyday! For me, it gets a 6/10.
Overall, Barcelos is a nice, cosy place to hangout with friends and family. The rustic setup with bulbs, wooden walls, frames and bricked walls gave a very vintage feel. We had a pleasant experience there, and definitely going back again :D
