In truth, there are lots of ways to do this. The easiest and probably most productive is to go to your existing contacts because they know you and your work (product/service). They can recommend you to their clients, business contacts and friends and lets think about it, if you want to know where to eat, whether to watch the film at the cinema, where to go on holiday, you will pretty much always go on recommendations. And don't worry if the recommendation is about a different product or service that you offer or slightly distant connection (ie a previous client from yonks ago) because lets face it we love a recommendation - look at the success of TripAdvisor and we don't even know the people!
So reconnect with past and present clients, just chat with them, hear about what they are doing, who they are working with and see what value you can offer.
