SUNDAY SUNRISE SWIM.
Despite yesterday’s fling with storm Deirdre we got up early for our ice cold dip and we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise.
The sea temperature is certainly dropping but we still had a fantastic turn out, even from those that slept through their alarm and still managed to make it (@gmc_36 )
Run towards the light. There are so many bright things on the horizon - I can hardly wait to get there. This past week has been filled with work on new and ongoing projects that have me jazzed up. And running, always running. 🌌🤘 #grindharder#loveyourwork#exploretocreate 📷@carehighman
Slow and Steady.
Strive to achieve consistency over the long term versus intensity in the short term.
Train for the long haul versus short term gainz (again with that 'z' - it's a millenial gym thang 🙇♂️)
As you look at your "big picture", the marathon event that we call "life", there will be periods of higher intensity that you must accept and be prepared for... but you cannot run the entire marathon distance at a sprinters speed.
Pace yourself. Know when to surge and know when hold back a little ... it's called a game plan - and yes we have to be prepared to be adaptable with that plan.
And the bottom line .. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
some of my favorite gals helping to bring my birthday week in right. it’s been a little bit of a bummer, some people aren’t here, and the rain is putting a real damper on things...but you all help me stay bright. excuse my goofy face...can’t ever stop laughing with you guys.
We had an office come in and bring some goodies to us (yum)... A past couple worker messaged me after she saw this picture and asked if I had lost weight... What a compliment!! I mean it really made me feel good!
Then I think about how I haven't worked out in like over 2 weeks.
The first week I have myself a pass. I haven't stopped in forever...
The second week I justified it bc work has been so stressful.
And I have been eating tolerably well and haven't gained anything...
But boy, I don't feel as good as I do when I work out. I feel more crabby, more edgy, more blah... I don't wanna fall back into my old and bad habits. So, this coming week, come Hell or high water, my butt is gonna be up and working out! I'm gonna keep on this awesome path, and I'm gonna get back to normal!
Happy Saturday, y’all!
Here’s a peek inside my workout from this morning...
Anyone up for a little “Core On The Floor” routine?😉
Give it a try!
Russian Twists X 40
Crunches X 20
Leg Lift-Reverse Crunches X 20
Bicycle Crunches X 40
Side Plank Crunch...Things🤷🏻♀️ X 20 right, 20 left (I apologize, but I have no idea what those are actually called😳, but they’re tough!😁)
Do 3-5 rounds circuit style, and get ready to🔥
Trust me, if you don’t feel this one, you’re not human!💀
This routine will not give you abs. These exercises will help improve core strength and stability, but they are not fat burning exercises. Core training is designed to strengthen the muscles of the core, improve posture, help with everyday tasks (sitting, standing, bending, etc), alleviate or at least help improve back pain, improve workout form, etc.
Training core IS important, but it’s not really about abs.
Soooo my trainer Emily @maximum.health.coaching asked me today if I’ve seen a side by side picture of the beginning of our training 7 weeks ago to now and I said no. Tbh I had a hard time logging food and taking measurements etc. I’m a “feel” kinda person. I really have no idea how many inches or % of body fat I’ve lost but when she sent me this I was shocked. I feel amazing, strong, confident, and like I have a body that’s capable now of keeping up with my desires to experience life to the fullest. Thank you Emily for your program and for sending me this. The results of all the hard work has payed off for reals!! I’m excited to see you in February in the phils #ididathing#hiredatrainer#putinthework#youonlyhaveonebody#playallways#neverstopmoving
Klomp riding out of some of the thickest trees I've ever "skied" through. @stefanboers, @sam.klomp, @gnargnarmeadows, @_alipaul, Lucy and I went on an early season hunting mission straight into the bush, pulled up the mountain through deep powder by an elusive open face. It quickly became apparent that the walls of bark and twigs would keep us away. We spent 6 hours and 8 minutes from car to car, made 3 or 4 linked turns and probably spent more time moving downhill in skins. Today was about type 2 fun and taking "tree skiing" to a new level //😂🌲
Running through a haunted, magical forest that has no beginning and has no end. If you are truly trying hard at running, you will get chewed up and spit out a thousand times before you even get close to your athletic potential. But if you keep on putting yourself out there and working for the love of the sport, you go to etherial places along the way. #trailrunning#seekbeauty#selfpropelled#intothewild
