I’ve been waiting for months to give #punchneedle a try...and it is every bit as addictive and flexible and exciting as I’d hoped!!! .
Mixing in some of my handspun with these gorgeous yarns from the @woolandwow punch needle kit! Combined with the incredibly talented help of Lindsey and her @hellohydrangea punch needle class, I’m almost done my first piece and can not wait to start my next!!! #fibreart#punchneedle#handspunyarn#neverstoplearning#makersmovement
🎈Yesterday was my 46th Birthday and I made sure I spent as much time as I possibly could playing piano 🎹💕 (which, now always includes a large portion of singing) This is (honestly) one thing that has literally 'saved' my life in many ways. I had the fortunate luck of getting it for free a year & a half ago, (this is when I began to agressively self teach)
😉👌 But yesterday, I was reflecting on 'what are some of the most valuable things I have discovered (& continue to discover) up until now?' Well, one of the first things I thought about, that so many generations are unjustly adorned with believing. We do not have children for any purpose which is of 'service' to us in any way, or to (either subconsciously or not) fulfill some vision we may have of what our child(ren) should be. And as such, we discover this as being a huge part of what it means to become an adult and an individual in every sense. I am actually very anxious to be sharing this short clip, but I also feel somehow I am obligated. Music is an Extremely meaningful part of what makes me an individual (and most people, tbh😉) 💕🎹🎤 #lifelearners#music#musictherapy #🎹 #unschoolers#plantbased#vegan#mentalhealth#specialneeds#neverstoplearning#keepyourselfalive#psychology#philosophy#neuroscience#reassessyourideologies#orwhatever#yeahofcourseiamdramatic#art#music #💕 #happybirthdaytome #🎈
Wrapped up a BEAUTY EDITION class today with a fabulous group of ladies! I am so thankful you wanted to learn from me and I look forward to more classes like this in the future, I can’t think of a much better way to spend an afternoon than gabbing about beauty for a few hours and running home to love on your babies and families. ✨ // you can see more from the class on IG stories if you’re interested! // #thelovelyhairclassbeautyedition
Sunday scaries... do you get em?
I’ve found that for me any kinda Sunday anxiety stems from putting off properly preparing even the simplest of things. Here’s a peep into some of my favorite simple Sunday activities to get me set on a good foot come Monday:
🥒 I like to cook my grains (brown rice, quinoa, pasta) and prep my protein (marinated tofu, hard boiled eggs, veggie burgers) ahead of time. Mix in different spices and veggies the day of, and have a variety of meals halfway ready for the week!
📆 plan out my week on google calendar. Always schedule in family/friend time, workouts, and a “done” time for the day. Always try to get the hard stuff done n out of the way first thing
🌱 take your towels, sheets, blankets and throw them in the dryer with some essential oils on your wool dryer balls. Aromatherapy y’all. And some invigorating or calming scents to get your head right for a new week. Plus those wool balls bring some softness back to your linens!
☀️get outside. Take your mind off the to do list for a bit. Grown ups need play too.
What are some of your Sunday rituals?? 👇🏼💛
Today marked another milestone in my life and career. I officially graduated from the Loma Linda University Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. It has been a challenging but transformative year. The countless hours studying, sleepless nights, early mornings, time away from family, and high expectations of the program. All of it has made me a better clinician and person. I am grateful and proud to have gone through it. I want to thank my loving and supportive wife @yganzon. She has witnessed and heard all the highs and lows but yet she continued to cheer me on. I also want to thank God for the continued blessings. Without Him, none of it would have been possible.
Intoxicated by possibility.
Who else is blessed with the overwhelming possibilities unfolding in their life?
A possible collaboration, working with X company, traveling for a retreat, hosting a retreat, beaches, tropics, Europe....
It all sounds shiny and exciting. Honestly, most of it is distracting noise.
I’m experiencing this. Many decisions to be made and incredible opportunities ahead if I choose. However, I know myself. And I know how easily I can be distracted from what my why is and what I wish to create.
I often allow myself to be distracted. And to be honest, ego plays a huge role. How exciting it may look opposed to how I truly feel and where my heart and soul are being called to incubate and create.
I want to remind you, and myself that if your calling at this moment is to stay where you are - continuing a curious birth of a project - then let it be. Focus on your truth. Trust.
The exciting opportunities will always be there. Complete your thing first. The thing that is yours and that is meant to be shared with the world.
Let everyone else do the same. What others are doing with their lives has nothing to do with your purpose. Keep focused and follow your intuition. Listen to your heart. I know it sounds easier said than done.
But you know the answer of where you’re meant to go, and what your next steps are.
Quiet the distractions and be aware of the intoxication of all the possibilities.
Stop. Get quiet. Tune in to your truth. Listen.
Focus, and take action.
What are you currently creating and where do you wish to see yourself with this creation in the next year? What actions do you need to make to get there?
Focus on that. Stay in your lane. And enjoy the fuck out of your personal life journey. Lessen the distraction of watching others enjoy theirs. 📷: @nikawildfox / @wildfoxflow
No filters, wet hair, not the best lighting but mannnn I learned how to do ombré #highlights and I'm SO in love with this beautiful dark root paired with the transitioning pops of color! #Rosegold to copper to warm caramel gold! 🙌 Ugghhhh so GORGE! 😘 #Matrix color really is phenomenal and versatile. Sectioning horizontally where the head changes shape instead of your traditional quadrants is a game changer... 👍 I decided to place my foils in a bricklay pattern to give a more natural approach to placement since she's a curly girl with no true part. ⚡#lightmaster#ColorSync#stylistintraining#stylistshelpingothers#hairhero#neverstoplearning
