📌5 Reasons Junior Female Athletes NEED Strength and Conditioning!
➡S&C acts as a 'neuromuscular spurt' in females. Following puberty female athletes decline in strength and performance, and their injury risk increases. S&C induces measures of the neuromuscular spurt to ⬇ injury and ⬆ performance
➡S&C decresses ACL injury risk in female athletes. Females are 10 x more likely to do an ACL than males AND the highest incidence occurs at 14-16 years.
➡S&C improves landing mechanics. After puberty girls change the way they land from a jump ⬆ injury risk. S&C improves lower limb biomechanics during landing.
➡S&C improves performance! Increases in strength, jump height, sprint performance, SL hop distance and VO2 max have all been reported in the literature following participation in a strength program!
➡S&C improves psychological wellbeing. It induces feelings of empowerment, confidence and strength which transfers into all aspects of their life.
It all an honest accidental. Saw my classmate fell and i picked up her baton and ran for her. I won...2 years ago.and this year i won #goldmedal for all elementary schools sports competitions. As today I managed to #run 10 laps every day and now I am a #netballplayer for my school.
I didn't like it but have no choice, #thegamefoundme#itfoundme
Netball athlete Hannah performing Barbell Back Squats
The back squat is an absolute staple in all of my athletes programming to;
✔improve lower body strength
✔improve ability to drive force into the ground (increase power)
✔improve sprinting speed
✔improve jump height
✔reduce ACL injury risk
✔increase knee joint stability
Keep your eyes on the prize 👀🏃🏼♀️⚽️ .
When I need a little motivation to exercise after a long day in the office, I’m so glad I don’t always have to slog it out at a sweaty gym. Instead, every Wednesday, I play netball with @hearst_hotshots and every game reminds me of why I love team sports so much and why I am so glad to have made it back from injury to play again 🌟😊💕
So when I'm not doing yoga I play Netball 🤾🏾♀️
It's always been a part of me. It's one of the ways helping me stay fit 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
I've played since I was 7 years old. Yep yep yep. Grade 1 😅
When I went to university I decided to study engineering so yeah...📖📖📖 books became my life. I tried to play here and there but the pressure got too much so I stopped. I finished my studies in 2016 but I still didn't go back immediately 🙈 ...BUT NOW I'M BACK 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 This year I decided to rekindle my love for this sport 😍😍😍 We're playing our first game today and I just wanna say I'm grateful to Midrand Action Sports for being my new home. A place where I can share my passion and play my heart out on the court.
I'm ready!!! Let's do this 🤾🏾♀️💪🏽
