What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
What is one place you dream of visiting?
It’s amazing what we have access to these days.
The ability we have to travel across the world still amazes me. 😱
This is a picture of Bristol, England from my trip to Europe before Bobbi was born.
It was a kind of baby moon. 👶🏻 🌙
I’m so so thankful for the places I’ve been.
And I’m dreaming of more travels in the future with my whole family. 🙌🏻
Just reminiscing this evening of past vacations while I dive into some much needed self-care goodness (i.e. eating homemade donuts from @thewholefooddiary treat book, painting my toe nails while watching a cheesy movie, and face mask from @wholemaker.co 🍷👋🏻)!
Happy birthday to my little 3 year old! How can you be 3? Even though you are a little girl now, you are still my baby.
As you enter your 3rd year, this is what I've learnt about you so far: - you're a real character - you're (mostly) a happy, bubbly girl - you already love your friends fiercely and they are the favourite part of your day - you're smart and already cheeky - you're feisty and know how to throw a good tantrum - you've got FOMO and never want to miss the fun - you never went through the phase of saying incorrect but funny things because your mastery of English is amazing - you love books and we read you 7 library books every night - you love puzzles, play dough, ponies and Frozen - and we love you so much and live for your giggles and funny comments
Hey guys! THANKS FOR 10K!!!! I’m loving having you here and following this creative journey of mine. As I expand my business in lifestyle and products, I’ve decided it’s finally time to start another account where I can grow the Phoenix and the Ocean product line. You’ll still see pops of it winding through my feed here, but this is going to be a place that focuses on my designed collection over at @phoenixandtheocean.co. Head over and follow along 😘🖤
EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK.
There is a magnet on our fridge that says, “everything is ok in the end. If it is not ok, it is not the end”
A few years ago, we were at the beginning of our not OKness.
Frankly, we were in the quicksand of hell where breathing was impossible. Going through evaluations and waiting on diagnosis’s feels like eternity. When it is for your children, it becomes a black hole of unending agony.
At almost four years old My Darling couldn’t walk down stairs, drink from an open cup, constantly fell out of chairs and toppled over while walking for no reason at all.
Participating in society was too much. The sounds and lights and expectations were impossible. So we didn’t. And then we didn’t realize just how removed from the world we had become.
Jay and I sat across the table staring at each other. It was our fifth anniversary but we were not celebrating. We had just come from another specialist giving labels, statistics and probabilities to our Goose.
And we were scared.
What on earth does her future look like ?
Will she be able to exist in the classroom?
Will she be able to learn to read? To write ?
Kids can be cruel. Will they break her spirit?
And the deep down dark and twisty terror
What did I do wrong ?
Did I somehow cause this?
What could I have done differently?
WITH A LOT OF PRAYER & INTERVENTIONS +
FOUR YEARS LATER
We wanna shout it from the rooftops that we know EXACTLY what her future looks like —
WHATEVER KIND OF HEAVEN SHE WANTS
So. If this note finds you in quicksand of impossibility or in a black hole of agony my heart travels with you my friend.
But if you have one ounce of faith hold onto the wisdom of the magnet “everything is ok in the end. If it is not ok, then it is not the end”
And if the Tao of the Kitchen isn’t providing much relief. May I share with you the picture of my most prized possession from a little girl they told us might never learn to write or to read.
Everything is going to be ok.
Love you forever.

Sweet sleeping Addie has me dreaming of spring in her stormy blue petal blouse from our Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Take the poll in our stories and help me decide on a green shade for our next collection! .

Storytime! When I was 16 years old I got my first ever ‘job’ as an usher at @nuffieldsouthamptontheatres, it was a volunteer role but one I absolutely loved as it meant I got to watch productions for free. Fast forward two years and at the age of eighteen, I moved to London convinced that I was going to make it as an actress. If you’d have told me six years that I wouldn’t be a successful actress today I probably wouldn’t have believed you, that’s how sure I was that I was destined for the stage. A year of rejection and theory study that didn’t interest me later and I moved back to Southampton, I’d totally fallen out of love with the theatre and that left me feeling so lost and with no idea of what I wanted to do instead.
I dabbled in retail, worked my way up to being a buyer, worked for charity and then fell pregnant and had Darcie. I made the decision to be a stay at home mum but still felt so lost. What was my identity outside of being a mum? I needed more than that, something that was just mine. So Little Snippets was born, and I can say with absolute certainty that I am finally doing exactly what I am meant to be doing. I love ‘mum life’ and I love blogging along the way. Yes, there are hard times - like these last two weeks - but generally I feel so content because I know that this life is right for me.
When @nuffieldsouthamptontheatres asked me to review Humbug! their Winter kids production, I jumped at the chance because even though I’ve come along way since the theatre obsessed girl I was eight years ago, it will always hold a piece of my heart. And sharing that with my daughter today was perfect💖
(I realise she looks miserable in this picture but she absolutely loved the show and got SO involved which was amazing. My review will be up soon!)
That’s quite enough ramble from me! What did you want to be when you were younger? And what did you end up?
It’s been 8 years since she stormed into my life. After a horrible labour, there she was! Capturing my heart, making me feel love in a way I never experienced before. Happy 8th birthday to her, and to me, for doing all that hard ass work 8 years ago. Boom 🎉

Does everyone have their tree by now? In our home we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas so we waited until the last night of Hanukkah before putting ours up. I love hunting in the woods for the perfect tree. Maybe one year we will do a tree farm, but I love the anticipation of driving down mountain roads hoping just maybe, this will be THE road with THE tree. We drive just far enough that snow is all around us, to really get all the winter feelings of the season. Because what’s Christmas without snow, amiright?! #treehunting#willamettenationalforest
I never wanted to be a stay at home mom. When I pictured and planned my life, I was always the working mom. Then when I had Lyla I was working with her in tow. And these days I’m more at home mom than working.
I think I’ve tried to fight it all for a long time but i t’s funny how God does these things. Sets your life up for you the way you wouldn’t have set up for yourself. And if you let it, it can lead you to the happiest version of you yet.
Blairy fairy’s nursery 💕 I love this room and everything in it. It’s so feminine and earthy at the same time. It’s full of rainbows, oils, crystals, natural timber and macrame. All of my favourite things and hopefully will become Blair’s favourites too. ⠀
Blair’s baby camera and my piece of mind is from the wonderful @lollipopbabycamera. ⠀
See my stories in the coming days for a review 😉
Taking this little cutie to the theatre for the first time today 😍
We’re off for a festive day today of lunch, shopping and then to see Humbug! at @nuffieldsouthamptontheatres and I couldn’t be more excited 🤗 The play is only 50 minutes and sounds very relaxed with beanbags etc so I’m reaaaally hoping that it’s an enjoyable experience for us all!
Have you ever taken your children to the theatre? Hit me with your horror stories 😂
Holy Guacamole, we sure love avocados around here! Our favorite way to eat them right now is by the spoon or as a healthy chocolate pudding. Blend 1 large avocado with 3 tablespoons of cacao powder and 3 tablespoons of maple syrup for the yummiest treat. Toddler approved! What’s your favorite way to eat an Avo? @nz_avocado_au #ad

We made a little magic happen today. ✨
It’s not Thursday, but I’m #throwinitback to the magic of my childhood. Tea parties + @thereallittledebbie , specifically the white Christmas tree ones with red ribbon icing and green sprinkles 🎄😍
So you can believe how happy my heart was to see them in this moment.
#ad Moments that are truly treasured and kept comfy by @paradeorganics jammies. Their hand printed designs and fair trade promises are the sweetest thing since iced cake.
I think I should put this whole moment on the blog, it’s just too darling and heartwarming.✨
