7/10 HOP hikes complete! This location was a quick favorite! We saw so many wonderful wild flowers that made for good color practice! We also saw an empty snake nest, raccoon and deer tracks, a deer bedding area, some tadpoles and minnows, and learned a new trick about stepping on a boardwalk in high water. We also added the word "🐝" to Harbar's vocabulary so now all bugs are either "Ackey bug" or "🐝". Lol! Only 3 more locations to finish Harbar's hike challenge but I think we'll be back to hike several of these locations again yet this summer!
For many years now I’ve thought about what this sweet little girl will learn from her Aunt Nicole and how will she remember our time together. We love to go on little adventures. We walk a lot, she hates that. We ride the train too, she prefers Ubers. I like hanging out at coffee shops and she loves smoothie bars. I also take her to the gym and she gets to see me being strong. I live uptown in a fancy place and she knows I work weekends to pay for it. Today we got icecream (it’s 100 degrees outside) and then I asked her if she wanted to check out this nursery next door and pick out a plant to take home...and she begins to tell me little things about plants that she’s read in books or picked up from working in the garden with her Nanna. It’s amazing to think that kids can have little things to teach us too, from their own set of adventures. While I was taking pictures of her, she became concerned because I got too close to a plant that apparently eats bugs or people and she was worried about me lol. Take the time to get to know your littlest bffs y’all. This one is the light of my life. #auntieniecetime#clt#southendclt#greenthumb#orchid#flowerchild#naturekid 👭🌷🌿🌱☀️🍦
