The stunning red rocks in Sedona, Arizona are full of hematite, the mineral form of iron oxide, which is what gives them their deep red coloring. We took this picture while we were hiking the Doe Mountain trail in Western Sedona. This trail is a 1.2 mile hike that brings you to the top of a plateau where you can take in breathtaking views of Sedona from all angles. We recommend going at sunset!
