Thank you, @niavardalos , for bringing this to my attention! Help rebuild an orphanage in Greece that was ravaged by fire. I am honored to donate to help restore a home for these displaced children. Visit @the_hellenic_initiative for more information and a direct link to donate!
Name one thing you did this week to be kind to yourself. Go!⠀
I got inspired this week with #NationalKindnessDay and how so many dear peeps are reaching out to help those who are devastated by the CA fires. I got to thinking that these precious peeps must really take good care of themselves to want to reach out and help. I know from my own experience that it’s so important to be kind to ourselves first before we are able to be kind to others.⠀
Be kind to yourself so you can be kind to others. Keep practicing random acts of kindness for yourself and others, my friends. #bekind#someonenotsomething#dogood
So fun spending the day talking all the things with you @katemahonralls @reneearnoldhair
Thank you for listening with love, sharing with honesty and never judging my crazy tornado 🌪
I’m forever grateful for friendships in our 40’s 💕✨
‘No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted’ 👩👧👦 My kids decided to sit on me and massage my back. As you see, my daughter is not massaging my back...this she calls ‘Bum Shiatsu’ it’s more like using the glutes in a manner than resembles Taiko Drumming...
It was a sweet and unsolicited gesture that really made my heart swell and our connections grow. What have you done for someone else today? What simple, genuine act can you perform to make someone’s day a little brighter?
Lots of love and a shoutout to my Awesome Coworkers and Principal @mapleridgepride I don’t know where I would be without them! #nationalkindnessday @crystaly_clear @angalimabean @angyoud @aolsen87 @byumurph @monicabair1 @melissqanderson @megan_a_olson @morg_stokes @udontknowschmidt
Morning! 🌊 I took an extra minute to drive to the coast and take in all this prana (energy). How do you start your morning?
Besides my normal wake - shower - breakfast/lunch prep for daughter - get dressed for work, I do not have a morning routine. My hubby is so good - he stretches and meditates every single morning.
Do you have a morning ritual?
If not, why? If so, share what it is..even the simplest routine may spark ✨ interest for someone else.
#tbt terrified first-time-mama trying to hush her aggy newborn to sleep.
4years in, the fear has dulled into a low-ebbing general anxiety that rears its ugly head when I watch my son climb playground apparatus on his own, or when I agree to let Pete take him away for the night to ‘give me a break’, or when he wants to pour his own milk on his cereal (“WATCH WHAT YOURE DOING, TWO HAND ON THE MILK BOTTLE!”). I always thought as a kid that these grownups had everything figured out and that when I became a real adult then I would too...
Turns out that’s all bullshit 😂 we are all still bloody clueless, just winging our way through adult life and hoping we are fooling the kids (and sometimes our partners) that we have our Shit Together.
I forgot it was National Kindness Day yesterday, so consider this my belated addition. To all mamas (new, old, trying to be and ones whose journey ended in heartbreak) - think kind thoughts about yourself, say kind things to yourself (especially if little ears can hear you) and give yourself permission to mess up sometimes. It’s all good baby xx
When I spotted this on @tru.spine’s IG account a day or two ago I said to myself: PERFECT timing!!! After all the destruction & devastation of the wildfires this week, this quote comes to mind. Being a week away from the Thanksgiving holiday again this quote is most appropriate! Feeling grateful for the goodness in our lives, paying it forward here in Southern California, working together, sharing & caring for family, friends and others, it is time to think, reflect and take action my friends. Lead by setting an example of how-to be a good human and I promise others will follow. This kind of positive contagious behavior needs to grow, spread & flourish everywhere. Being that it’s #nationalkindnessday DO IT today & always! *
What?! It was National Kindness Day and I missed it! Thanks to @bravoandy for brininging it to my attention. Kindness is the value I put the most importance in my life because I understand the peace it brings me and the contentment it provides me. It also allows me to feel empathy for others and strengthen relationship bonds. It’s the value I most stress in my children to uphold and the one that I most admire in other people I meet. I often ask my clients to take inventory of their values and go observe themselves, making note of whether they are living congruent to their values. It’s a worthwhile exercise that can actually help you uncover a lot about yourself! Try it! What are your #top3 values? #kindness#values#morals#parenting#lifegoals#therapy#family#weston#davie#broward#nationalkindnessday
Happy #nationalkindnessday ! We spread some kindness by taking in this abandoned male Pittbull & we’re hoping it works out. He’s a real sweetheart who loves to hug everyone. He’s well behaved & someone trained him very well, BUT the cat hates him & there was an altercation that scared me half to death. The cat won’t come out of the bedroom so we’re giving them a couple of weeks & we’ll see how things go. For now he’s kept on a leash & he’s doing very well. He has a skin & ear infection so we’re treating him for that & hea going through the deworming process. We would appreciate good thoughts for Buddy (dog) & Blue (cat) to get along. Thank you 💜 Materials: Rendr No- Show-Theough paper by Crescent & @karinmarkers. . .
Did my good deed for the day. This little tiny guy crashed hard into our sliding glass door this morning. I was *sure* he was dying when I looked outside and saw him lying on his side on the porch, stunned. I picked him up and set him in my flannel shirt on a chair and brought Sam (my hunter cat) inside, and after about 45 minutes he recovered enough to fly away. He managed to still crash into the side of the house a little bit on his way out, so I hope he made it, but I like to think he did. #gooddeedfortheday#birds#babybird#savedabird#nationalkindnessday
Yesterday was #NationalKindnessDay and the love that someone gave me will have me feeling special for many days to come. .
We had a doctor’s appointment yesterday and as I got into the elevator to go to the third floor, another lady about my age entered the elevator too. On the way up, we talked about the weather. How cold it has been and if we thought it would snow soon. When we got to our floor, we went our separate ways. .
About an hour later, Alex and I entered waiting room 2 of 3 and sat across from the same lady and her husband. Waiting rooms aren’t the best. Multiple waiting rooms are the WORST. Yet, as I sat there, I tried to pray for what was ahead. It’s been a few months since we were here and I just needed to calm myself. The lady and her husband were called to go back, but before they left the crowded waiting room, she handed me a folded piece of paper and said, “I want you to have this.” She squeezed my hand and walked away. .
I opened the paper to see the most encouraging note. “You’re in the right place for whatever you’re going through. Many of us have been sitting in similar shoes. Best wishes in everything you’re going through.”
Okay, so yeah, I bawled my eyes out. What an amazing reminder. What perfect timing. And what a God moment! I couldn’t help but think of our elevator ride. Two strangers riding in an elevator, battling the same (or similar) struggles and we never would’ve known had we not been in that waiting room together. .
You never know what someone else is going through. I know people say that a lot and by now it’s become a cliche but it is so very true. You never know what other people are going through. That’s where kindness, gentleness, and faith come into play. When God puts a person on your heart, whether it be a long time friend or someone sitting across from you in a waiting room, step into that calling and love on that person as fiercely as you can. You never know how your actions and love can change another person’s day, or maybe even their life. Pay it forward & be kind. #booecrew#1in8#infertility#babybooe#infertilityawareness
It’s #nationalkindnessday and this is the perfect day to bring @lsscentralohio to light and the amazing things they do! LSS provides services to those affected by domestic violence regardless of sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, native language, gender or race. We will be collecting items to donate to those in need! Email or message us if you would like to contribute to this great cause. Special thanks to @rachrenmonfort for heading this up! #instagood
Sometimes #nationalkindnessday takes two days. My new role as a restaurant delivery person. Delivered a lunch catering order for my friend’s restaurant dressed in my Andrew Marc down coat , Gucci Sunglasses and Gucci handbag. It’s powerful to be the best dressed delivery person! The tips can be very good when you know what to wear !
It’s #worldkindnessday ! I believe we should be kind every single day! You never know what someone is dealing with and the way you treat them that day may just be what saves or breaks them. ❤️ Help that sweet older lady at the grocery store by pushing the cart back to the store. It’s easy for you but that extra walk may be hard for her.
Instead of judging that Momma at the mall who’s toddler is lying on the floor screaming bloody murder give her a caring you got this smile, better yet tell her!! Believe me she thinks she is failing!! When your waitress makes a mistake try to remember this might be there first day! You had a first day once too!
When you are having a bad day and you don’t know how you can do one more thing show yourself some grace. You deserve Kindness too!
If you can only do one thing today, BE KIND!
