The Water Element 🌊// Today I started my morning by teaching an early morning XL yoga class based on the water element. The water element is connected to the kidney and the urinary bladder organs and associated with winter season ❄️💧Listen to your body, nourish yourself, take time to calm down are important things to keep in mind during the cold months. Today we practiced a lot of postures for stress relief and softening the body & mind. A great start of the weekend! 🧘🏽♀️🕉
Today i did it! I almost feel ashamed to admit it, but i was a fan of the snooze button!🤦🏻♀️ I knew it was bad, but I used to find all kinds of excuses in the last years: i am sleepy, i am not ready for the day yet, 5-10 minutes of sleep will make the difference, the bed is warm and cozy, I am not a morning person and so on🙈
But today I woke up right after the alarm rang (I actually hit the snooze button by mistake, but I was already in the shower when the alarm rang the second time and it surprised me – I was sure I turned it off, but it seems my finger doesn’t know yet how to turn off an alarm without any snooze). And I survived! And guess what?! It was in fact easier to get up this way and also healthier and more productive✌️
I watched a video of @melrobbinslive more than a year ago and I thought it was genius, but it did not convince the spoilt self to try the method…until now! When the alarm rang, of course I was tempted to snooze and get few more minutes of sleep, but instead of that, I started counting backwards: “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” and then got out of bed. Why counting? Mel says: “You have about a five second window in which you can move from idea to action before your brain kicks into full gear and sabotages any change in behavior. ‘Cause remember, your brain is wired to stop you from doing things that are uncomfortable, or uncertain, or scary. When you understand the power of a five-second decision, and you understand that you always have a choice to go from autopilot to decision maker, everything in your life will change.”🤯
So, I am starting the weekend taking the first step to break a bad habit – because any day is good for self-improvement, right?!🤷🏻♀️
Enjoy your weekend, my friends! Lots of love💕
If you want to participate to my birthday challenge, there is one week left. Please check my previous posts or highlights for details 🙏 #turning30soon

YOGA FOR FLEXIBILITY ✨
Recently I’ve been spending more time stretching because my body has become really stiff and tight from strength training especially when it’s legs day.
The stretches here are a progression and I usually hold them for 20 breaths. This sequence is suitable for beginners and anyone who wants to gain flexibility or release tightness in the lower body. However if it creates pain and discomfort (not feeling like a stretch) please ask a yoga instructor.
Inner thighs: Use hands to gently push your knees closer to wall keeping shoulders down in Variation 1. Keep chest lifted & spine long in Variations 2 & 3.
Hamstrings: Keep knees bent to protect lower back.
ITB & Glutes: Flex foot to protect knee & keep spine long in Variations 2 & 3.
Today is day ✌️ of #yogidecembertidings challenge and I'm so pleased to see so many wonderful people from all over the world taking part & sharing your stories with us! Some amazing first day pose choices too 😍 Today's pose is a forward fold. I personally find this pyramid variation works deeper into my front hamstring, it's a burner 🔥 a few alignment cues .
◾ensure both feet are tracking towards the top edge of the mat ◾square off those hips, think about drawing the front leg hip back and the back leg hip forwards to protect that SI joint and ensure we're isolating that front hamstring ◾reach forward with the chest and start to hinge down from the hip, use a block if you need to, props are friends! ◾Inhale and reach, exhale to melt into the stretch, continue for 5 breaths notice how the muscle begins to soften and release. ◾make sure to work both sides 🙌 .
Looking forward to seeing what you all have for us today! Please see my co hosts for their variations today, also follow & tag all hosts and sponsors to be eligible for prizes 🙏🏼
@yobaby_hk My gorgeous bra!
Early rises aren't my favourites but after headstanding (another word for our dictionary 😉) in the local church courtyard everything seems brighter in my 🌎 I am in such a happy mood today and it is an amazing feeling 🥰 How are you today? Are you excited for the weekend? ♥️ #beeayogi
So as this is an image sharing platform I’m sharing this but I want to be clear I’m not advocating this as good practice, nor am I even really saying it’s yoga.
There was no warm up, it’s below zero, totally for the camera (for my records first then I thought I’d share it).
I got up, saw the frost, got all excited & thought I’d check in with my body after 3 days of no shape making; just all the other elements of yoga; being kind, compassionate, generous, truthful, connecting with myself & the earth etc.
Seems I was rewarded with a fairly stable although a little stiff pincha so thanks Universe 😘🙏🏼 #biglove ❤️ .
What you see on here isn’t always yoga (although my captions usually are! 😜) but actually on reflection it is still yoga.
I measured my breathing and was totally non-attached to the outcome just totally immersed in the process.
So yeah I guess although I totally #diditforthegram this was a one take, I didn’t retake coz it wasn’t perfect, this was me straight outta bed checking in with my body ☺️
This is just a reminder for all of you that just coz you can or can’t make certain shapes with your body doesn’t mean you can’t practice Yoga.
Asnana practice is just one limb, and has been confused visually with gymnastics, calisthenics, dance, circus - but that’s ok we are all working towards the potential of the human body expressing our selves through movement! 🙌🏼
BUT it’s a different experience for all of us, and it’s a journey!
START WITH WHAT YA GOT WHERE YA ARE AND ALL WILL BE YOURS WHEN YOU’RE READY!
Come play today @trikayoga
LOVE YOURSELF FIRST 😘.
You can hear Maxwell barking at the bin men 🤦🏼♀️ sometimes they bark back it’s funny to see his face like WTF?! 🤷🏼♀️😜🤣.
I’m so exited to go home today.
I love spending time with my family, and it’s about time I get to do just that!
I’m also really excited to be back at the place in the video! This is a flow I did last winter, before class. This place was the location for my first 8-week yoga course that I set up all by myself. And next week I’m back to teach some more yoga! Wednesday 19th at 18:30-20:30!

The word yoga means to unite, to yoke. We might ask – what exactly are we uniting, or yoking, together? I think there is no limit to the ways we can “yoke.” In fact the more yoga we prac- tice, the more this seems to happen. We yoke the body to the mind, becoming aware of how the body yokes to our feelings and vice versa. We get yoked to people around us as our natural, inherent compassion awakens, and we cannot help but empathize with life all around us. At some point, we feel that there is no difference be- tween life forms. We may feel as much a connec- tion to trees, plants and strangers as we feel toward loved ones. The inherent interconnectedness of the world is revealed to us – it’s just a breath away. #mindbodygram#motivation#morningpractice#movement#myyogajourney#myyogalife#perfectlyimperfect#practiceandalliscoming#practicedaily#practicemakesprogress#practiceyoga#selflove#spreadtheyogalove#strongyogi#strength#surrender#transformationtuesday#worldofyoga

Sometimes we fight hard, we speak loudly, we are all determined and yet such vulnerable humans. Sometimes that’s not our battle to fight. Sometimes we just have to raise our hands and let it go. Let. It. All. Go. It isn’t necessary anymore, it isn’t your choice, it isn’t your problem, it isn’t your job. Some will listen and discuss, others will disagree on anything or everything you say. It’s not worth the hassle. It’s not worth the pain, the unhealthiness, the effort or to lose your own happiness. Sometimes you just have to raise your hands up, even in the smallest little battles, and tell yourself “it is time to let it go”. It will all come back, whether you do good or bad.
Yesterday I was speaking to @yuko_yoga about choosing happiness and it make me think deeper. We are the sole controller of our own mind, nobody else. Sounds familiar? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but at least we have to repeat it to ourselves. Choose love. Choose your battles. Choose your own beliefs, your own opinions and your own words. If that doesn’t resonate with everyone, then so be it. If they won’t consider your opinion, then so be it. The fact is, you cannot control other people’s choices. People are going to say what they’re going to say or do what they’re going to do due to what they are feeling or processing, or what they have learned they’re supposed to say, or supposed to do. My self worth and self love is not determined or dependent on other people; what they say or what they do, or what they won’t say or won’t do.
Love yourself always. Because nobody is going to do it for you. It’s hard. My God, it’s hard. Battling with depression and anxiety makes it even harder. But just remember this, in the back of your mind.
Let it all go, and focus on yourself and your growth. Let all of the anger, the doubt, the insecurity, the pain go.
You’re worth the happiness.
FRIDAY GOOD DAY || .
- - - 🇬🇧 Few hours till the weekend 🙌🏻 I’m lucky to have found a new job enabling me to have my weekends off, for the first time of my life. So every time I complain about little things about my job, I remind myself how my everyday life is better now. Do you use to work on weekends? What’s your job? .
“The edge of an Idiom”:
I may have bit off more than I can chew and counted my chickens before the eggs hatched.
In the heat of the moment, I find myself on an edge.
An edge that brings me to see eye to eye with her and she.
To keep a long story short- there is a method to my madness.
Yet, I seem to be caught between two stools- so please don’t judge this book by its cover.
I’m at the tip of the iceberg- and I’m giving myself the benefit of the doubt and sending you a penny for your thoughts.
I won’t beat around the bush any longer:
If I were to take flight or just stay right here- would this cloud still have a silver lining?
Will this, too, be water under the bridge some day?
