Sculpture on the Shore is happening again this November. It’s held in the Old Officer’s Mess at Narrow Neck, Devonport. My old stomping ground back when I was in the Navy!! 😊 I’m going to be super organised this year and start making this week!
Well it's not winning any ig beauty contests but I am SO HAPPY to have a dedicated art space for the first time in my life. Here's my metalsmithing area! I put an old writing desk on wooden bed risers to bring it up to a good bench height. With my chair lowered I can work at about chest-level for sawing. I roll my chair to the right side to work at the bench pin or the flex shaft. My soldering station is a sturdy metal file cabinet with a milk crate for height and a rotating pan, in front of a window with a fan. (Ventillation seems to be ok. Don't worry, it's very stable.) There is more storage than I need at this stage and it meets my needs well - all thrifted, gifted, borrowed and found. #mystudio#myworkapace#metalsmith#metalsmithbench#artspace#makerspace#diy#thrifted
I shared a little back burner project with you the other day and here is back burner project #2 - my Pottery Barn spoon and fork. I bought these a few years ago but didn’t really like the color, so I bought some turquoise craft paint and some metallic silver craft paint to transform them. I want to put the turquoise underneath the silver but then distress them so all the layers come out. And I just haven’t done it! Putting it out there so maybe I finally get it done! I think I need to do a practice run to just get over it! 😂 #backburnerproject#potterybarn#forkandspoon#turquoise#silver#cottagestudio#cottageproject#mystudio#myhappyroom
