This right here is Ashtanga Yoga. My beloved colleague and friend Samantha Lucas, with her shala host Patricia, after led class today. 💗💗💗 Samantha gave a talk, sharing gritty heart-felt specifics about how yoga practice has helped to sustain and heal her in the past 2.5 years, since a traumatic accident in which she lost part of her leg. Today she emphasized that for all the equanimity, heart and razor sharp clarity shared with us, she is not a superhero. Healing trauma is a long, gentle, daily practice that happens on all levels of body, mind and spirit. Especially the emotional body. Today I feel how Samantha’s character has deepened and strengthened because of the choices that she makes day by day. By thousands of moments in which she has chosen Yoga, mentally emotionally and physically, when there were so many reasons not to. You can’t fake character like that. It’s skill and grace. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Samantha’s presence in my life and in the field of yoga is such a blessing. A veces busco compartir algún texto inspirador que este ayudándome en mi proceso. Y luego pienso que tal vez es mas sencillo y humilde compartir mi texto personal.
Llegué al momento de “Inclinarme en reverencia a mi misma”. Y lo mas loco es que todos los grandes maestros y libros transmiten el mismo mensaje: el poder del Universo esta dentro nuestro. Tanto tiempo buscando afuera o inclusive en titulos, profesiones, vocaciones, vinculos, relaciones... y todo eso es importante y hermoso, pero hay algo mas...
Mas adentro, mas profundo, atemporal, permanente, de por vida y mas alla de la muerte, que no voy a ponerle titulo o palaba porque eso mismo lo estaría encasillando o perdiendolo por no poder capturarlo.
Sabes de que te hablo? Cuando te sentis vivo? Cuando sonreis y disfrutas genuinamente y sanamente? Qué te prende fuego y te enciende a expandirte y entregarte en estado de amor? Qué te pone en estado de Gratitud Divina?
Todos lo llevamos dentro y esta en nosotros ponernos en protagonistas y salir a buscarlo. Recordarselo a otras personas, SER inspiracion, una consciencia externa. Y tendremos momentos que lo estamos siendo y momentos que no, lo importante es apegarnos a otros cuando nos sentimos perdidos, otros que funcionan de Faro.
Agradezco que me leas y espero haber provocado un chispaso de fuego, inquietud o pasion por vivir esta experiencia espiritual que es la vida. GRACIAS 💛🙏

I had typed the max number of characters on here when I posted this. I had listed how many many things my original teacher, Stacey Lee, Authorized Level 2 Ashtanga Instructor,(holding her son, Lavi in the photo) thoughtfully showed me during the 6 day workshop that concluded today, but they all got lost and wouldn't post (they just were not there after I posted) so it isnt meant to share in such detail i suppose so i am going to just say that this was by far the best workshop personally for my own practice development that I've ever attended. On having a daily practice - The consistency has a psychological effect that helps you feel grounded and in control of your life. But sometimes there are obstacles in the way of your commitment to it- such is life. When this happens, be nonjudgemental and be kind to yourself, just pick up the next day and continue. If you set out for perfection at all times you don’t give space for error and therefor you don’t give space for growth and learning. Practice is setting a chunk of time for you, this will help you evolve and process things. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sobre tener una practica diaria- La consistencia tiene un efecto psicológico que nos ayuda a sentirnos enraizados y en control de nuestras vidas. Pero a veces hay obstáculos que se interponen en nuestro compromiso con ella- Asi es la vida. Cuando esto ocurre, no debemos juzgarnos y debemos ser mas amable con nosotros mismos, simplemente continua al día siguiente. Si te propones la perfección en todo momento no das el espacio para cometer errores y por ende no das el espacio para el crecimiento y aprendizaje. La practica es establecer un espacio de tiempo para ti, esto te ayudara a evolucionar y procesar cosas. 💓
