I want to live every day in a way that inspires my son and I want to model a healthy lifestyle in hopes that he will emulate the same in his life as he grows.

This post has been a couple weeks in the making! As finicky as the scales can be, I wanted to make sure I was maintaining 20lbs lost for at least a week before I posted! 20lbs for some might not be a lot, but for me and my body I think it’s amazing! And I still can’t believe I did that! I have never worked this hard for my health and fitness, and I had gotten complacent and figured I was bound to be stuck where I was. It's Monday again! Time to do the things I need to take care of my whole self. That means getting my butt up, fueling it with good food and pushing play. I'm not an early morning person but I decided that getting up early and getting my workout in was worth it because I am worth it.

Week 8//: does the scale matter?

So I took last week off... the combination of the heatwave and consistently feeling nauseous I did not go to bootcamp🏋🏼‍♀️ and I didn't focus too much on my eating

And I lost weight🤷🏼‍♀️ not a lot but the scale still went down so to be completely honest the scale is a useless tool😂 literally... I just don't quite understand the logic in it and yes I know there are a lot of different factors to consider BUT still sometimes it does not make sense🤷🏼‍♀️ So... I am trying to not let it dominate my feelings about me. Still find it so hard to post these kinds of pictures of myself because it’s confronting for me to see how I used to look, and also how I look now, knowing I still have so far to go, but I will take this little moment to celebrate how far I’ve come in just 16 weeks! The weight difference between these sets of photo’s is 31.5kg’s.
I’m stoked with how my back is looking. I’m so much closer to being a normal size. I love that my body is doing what it’s supposed to be doing. 
I don’t know how much I weigh at the moment, I couldn’t handle knowing how much I weighed when I started this, my lovely friend who puts these photo’s together for me records my weight for me once every 2 weeks and I’ve decided I’ll find out once I’m under 100kg’s.... hopefully not far off that now!

Dang proud of getting into #onederland today!  I didn’t think I would ever get to be under 200 lbs again.  As you can tell from the chart it isn’t always a straight loss but from March 1 until today I have lost 17.9%

I still have 19 more lbs to lose to get to my original goal weight of 180.  When I started out losing over 60 lbs seemed impossible, so I have tried to do it in 5 pound increments as goals.  This has made it so I’m not discouraged or overwhelmed at the big number, that I thought was out of reach.  Onederland back into having a 1 at the start of my weight is HUGE for me.  #dontgiveup if I can you can too.

Also, have modified my goals to include being healthy and strong 💪🏻. Getting back in the gym has reminded me how much happier and healthier I am when I workout and eat right. Im not a salad person whatsoever lol 😆 I would not be the type to eat any type of vegetables or greens just because it just tasted so blah 😑!! The thought of eating like that sounded crazy to me lol 😆 ..

It wasn’t until I started eating healthier and loving the way my body felt after a healthy meal!! I’m learning more about my body each & everyday, honestly, what you put In your body is just as an important to what you do to your body!! FYI 😃 I learned that adding lemon, apple cider vinegar, a little bit of Himalayan salt & black pepper can help you eat healthier a long way lol 😆 😉 ..

Although nutrition and exercise are both key components to a healthy lifestyle there is still one thing that trumps them. 
And that is SLEEP. Sleeping is your bodies time to repair itself and so many people take it for granted. It can even help with weight loss and speed up recovery from injuries.

There is no “one size fits all” on how long you should sleep as no two people are the same but I’m guessing 4/5 hours a day is probably not enough. I’ve settled on between 7 and 7 1/2 hours per day. That way I wake up feeling fresh and ready for the day.  On 5/6 hours I’m just tired and lethargic.

I’m no expert on this but if you want to know more about sleeping do yourself a favour and listen to Dr. Matthew Walker on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast or Shawn Stevenson on the The Genius Life podcast. Both have amazing insights on the benefits of sleep and how to improve your sleep.

One thing I’ve found to improve my sleep is to sleep in a cooler room.  It has made such a big difference. Even with 7 hours sleep I still woke up groggy but by changing the room temperature I now wake up feeling refreshed on the same amount of sleep.

Komplett kostenlos hat diese ab mir vor Augen geführt was ich so zu mir nehme.
Mit der App kann man tracken was man so isst.
Entweder tippt man ein was man gegessen hat oder aber man scannt den Barcode.
Beim ersten Start der App gibt man seine Daten ein. Größe, Gewicht, Zielgewicht und was man erreiche will.
An Hand dieser Daten errechnet die App den Kalorienbedarf.
Natürlich zählen dazu auch Getränke. 
Durch die App habe ich gesehen das ich zb. früher locker 3000 kcal nur per Softdrinks zu mir genommen habe.

Mir hat es sehr die Augen geöffnet. Wenn man ein wenig schlauer ist geht es sicher auch ohne 😂

They are so easy and SO GOOD 🙌🏼 and they fit perfectly into my meal plan. I love to enjoy food so “meal prepping” the same meal over and over does not work for me at all. I like to cook my meals fresh and eat them as soon as they’re done 😋 I also love to switch it up and have different things most days and weeks. My meal plan has taught me how to easily fit yummy and DIFFERENT meals into my menu so I don’t have to eat chicken, veggies, and rice for 5 days straight. I can have pancakes, fish tacos, burrito bowls, pizza, pasta, BROWNIES (these are all my favs 😂) it’s all about flexibility and allows treat meals so I don’t have to deprive myself of foods I love. There’s definitely a learning curve but once you get the hang of it your perspective about food will be completely changed.

I used to let food control me and how I felt about myself. If I let myself eat one “bad” thing I would totally throw away my progress and let myself spiral into weeks of bad eating habits. I love to enjoy food so “meal prepping” the same meal over and over does not work for me at all. I like to cook my meals fresh and eat them as soon as they’re done 😋 I also love to switch it up and have different things most days and weeks. My meal plan has taught me how to easily fit yummy and DIFFERENT meals into my menu so I don’t have to eat chicken, veggies, and rice for 5 days straight. I can have pancakes, fish tacos, burrito bowls, pizza, pasta, BROWNIES (these are all my favs 😂) it’s all about flexibility and allows treat meals so I don’t have to deprive myself of foods I love. There’s definitely a learning curve but once you get the hang of it your perspective about food will be completely changed. • • I used to let food control me and how I felt about myself. If I let myself eat one “bad” thing I would totally throw away my progress and let myself spiral into weeks of bad eating habits. Now I know better. Food should be used to fuel us not tear us down!
