Hallstatt is more than just a pretty town. It’s actually considered to be the oldest still-inhabited village in Europe, dating all the way back to the Iron Age. In fact, the early Iron Age culture from 800 to 400 BC is known as the Hallstatt culture, an era marked by farming and metal-working, long-range trade with Mediterranean cultures, and the rise of elite classes and social distinction.

Hey GLT!! It’s @witandfolly here again with one more photo from Japan- this time in Kyoto!
We ended up making Kyoto our “home base” & stayed an extra couple days, because I completely fell in love with this city ❤️
Why did I love it so much?👇
It’s a city that many consider the heart & soul of Japan, steeped in rich history where the formal traditions & culture of Japan can be seen & felt all around you. Yet it’s also still modern, with Kyoto Station being one of the most architecturally unique & beautiful train stations I’ve ever been in!
It’s a perfect starting point to visit nearby attractions, such as Nara Park, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Osaka, & Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. There’s a million things to do in Kyoto, but it’s also a convenient location to explore outside the city as well.
Early mornings here are the best! 🙌 Kyoto is a super popular destination (for good reason), which means there are loads of tourists everywhere during the day.
I loved walking around in the early morning, when the streets were empty, quiet, & so serene- feeling as if I was transported back in time.
But perhaps above all else (& this really is about Japan in general), I fell in love because the people are some of the kindest & most gracious I’ve ever met while traveling. I love how thoughtful & considerate they are, & you can feel that respect permeate all aspects of life in Japan 💫
I’d love to know- have you been to Kyoto? Where have you been that deeply touched you & made you fall in love?
Stay tuned for more stories on Japan throughout the day!
Happiness is only real when shared 🌊🏙
Sometimes when your photo gets photobombed it comes out even better than what you had originally anticipated. ✨ the views of this city are impeccable.
May you never be too busy to stop and breathe under a palm tree 🌴

Left alone by the crouds, Jatiluwih rice terrace is a stunning UNESCO world heritage site where you can witness the true cultural landscape of Bali which consists of rice terraces and water temples (The temples are the focus of a cooperative water management system of canals and weirs, known as subak) 🌾 [ The subak reflects the philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana, which brings together the realms of the spirit, the human world and nature. ] 💧🌍 .
So obsessed with flying the drone, especially at such a beautiful location like @discoversoneva // Unfortunately we crashed ours into a palmtree on our last trip in Bali, but I just received the news that it can be repaired! Today is a good day! :)
Yay for (almost) Friday! I had a busy, but productive day which always makes me happy. There’s nothing like checking something off a to-do list right?
Also we are ordering brisket and iberico pork ribs for my husband’s birthday so I’m kinda excited.
What has made you happy recently?

I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. Suddenly you are five years old again. You can't read anything, you have only the most rudimentary sense of how things work, you can't even reliably cross a street without endangering your life. Your whole existence becomes a series of interesting guesses. ✈️
Can honestly say getting into Rome at 4am was the best thing that happened to us, as we got to spend the golden hours watching the sunrise over a completely empty Collosseum! Where was your favourite sunrise??

Just love this cute little corner of St. Augustine! It has me dreaming of Spain, which is near the top of my (very long) bucket list of travel destination.
What are the top 3 destinations on your list? For me it’s: Machu Picchu in Peru, Spain, and Argentina. I think.
Do you know that some passengers stay more than 5 months on board? For example 4 moths of the World Cruise and few cruises before or/and after it😱
Could you handle it?😉
