Breaking chains is a mental stage I progressed from while soul searching for who I am. Anything that held me down became a chain and it began to pull me down keeping me further away from who I wanted to become. I’m still a long way from where I wish to be and sometimes I feel like I’ll never make it there. @layes__art said he only had an hour to work out today then said better yet if we can squeeze it in 40-45min itll be better. The work out was 500 pushups 500 squats. We broke it down into 20s each but nonstop back and forth 20 pushups 20 squats with the goal of getting done in 40 min. We ended up finishing 34 minutes. Say that to say it doesnt take much time at all. If you focused. We definitely had to put the phones down so we can get to it, but we got it done. Great work bro 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

December payday is here! Reflecting on my November goals, it was a bit of an #orange month (using traffic light system) for me but I think I've made #progress - used my credit card 45x which us reduce significantly from 83x in October
- I tracked most of my expenses using the #WALLET app but slacked off this last week
- I didn't quite get to 10 items (I'm a bit of a hoarder). 2 pairs of shoes were donated to charity; the other 5 items have been placed online to sell but to no avail - started building muscle mass and did at least one session a week. Have to do more though!

This is another case of it depends. I can't say which grip is the best since they all have their pros and cons. These 4 grips are probably the most common grips people utilize for the deadlift.

I personally like to use straps so I can put all my strength into lifting the weight and not have my grip fail me or take my focus away from the lift.

⬆️ Gained 4.4 pounds of SMM 👌🏽⁣
⬇️ Lost 0.1% body fat 😞⁣

SMM at 53.1 lbs and PBF at 33.4%⁣ These next 3 weeks I will be focusing on maintaining my body weight goal of 145, increasing muscle mass, and decreasing my body fat percentage. ⁣

🍳MORNING FLOW

Morning movement is something I’ve implemented that’s been a game changer in starting my day off on the right side of the bed! Rather than dragging myself out of bed, pouring myself a cup of coffee, and sitting for another hour after having just been laying for 7-8 hrs, I get up and start moving.
.
This starts my day by moving some blood, slightly elevating the heart rate, and even helps to loosen up any tight or sore areas from my training. Not only am I reaping the physical benefit of moving, but there’s a mental boost that comes with it. The day is kicked off proactively. Rather than being reactive to what the day has to offer, I’m starting my day the way I want it to go. This small morning win leads to other small wins throughout the day, snowballing into a productive day. And of course I am much more alert! Throw in some coffee and we’re ready to rock 🤪☕️

The movements don’t have to be fancy by any means. Every day looks a little different for me based on what I’m feeling. Most days it’s a mobility flow like this, some days it’s a morning walk (get those steps in), and others it’s as simple as some squats and push ups. Whatever works best for you, do it! .

The picture to the left is me at peak week last June. Since then, I gained 15 lbs (mostly in muscle weight). Last year, I remember looking at some athlete who were bulking and saying to myself “WHY are they doing this to themselves???” They had an amazing physique and from my rookie point of view, it looked like they were destroying all their hard work... But now I understand!!... and I find myself doing the exact same thing!! 🤦‍♀️ Oh well, I’m a person who preach that our thinking always needs to evolve. That’s how we grow. So let’s do this!! It might not be the prettiest season, but beware of package 2.0 coming up next summer... 💪💪💪

When you are trying to build muscle mass, you gotta be able to let go of your weight. Every week or so, I see that scale go up... and up! 😲 But it’s normal and part of the process. After all, I am building 💪💪💪. But that’s where the mental game kicks in... And it’s not always easy!!!
