#Mondayspiration *Lessons from Les Blue.* The 2018 Russia World cup will go down in that annals of history as one of the most interesting tournament in recent times - with wonderful lessons laden in it.
Today I want to speak to the conscience of a nation and her people; and the beauty (and victory) in diversity. After the 2002 Korea Japan World cup we can notice high level of integration of Non white players in the French nation team - this time 2/3 of the start up players are blacks. Diversity is not the problem, it is accepting the unique features it portends that does. Most of the third world countries are socially and economically backward as a result of this.
Remember when Musa scored the first Nigerian goal against Iceland, no one remembered his religion, neither do people from the south rejected the goal because he is not their son - we all rejoiced because it was victory for all.
Football has proven over time to be a yardstick to measure what we can do united as people if (and when) we shun all forms of animosity about diversity and pursue a cause.
I hope one day, Nigeria will be able to rise above pettiness and stand in confidence among the top countries of the world - and that will happen when we accept each other.
