It’s as simple as the term “calories in calories out” but calories in vs calories can be a tricky game.
Christmas is around the corner and we are ready for the family roast... cake, ice cream, fudge, cookies..... but this is all a recipe for weight gain.
Aside from the fact it’s a season we are surrounded by soul food, we need to understand how weight gain happens. It’s seems pretty simple however there are ways we can increase our eating without increasing the numbers on the scale.
Understanding our current NEAT (non-active-activity-thermogenesis) as well as how much we are currently training is important. Our neat could be how many steps we walk in a day... by increasing something this simple we increase the “calories out”. A few tips to remember...
1. Track your calories
2. Know your NEAT
3. Know your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure)
4. That Soul Food will always be there and it’s not the last meal you will have during the holidays so please calm down on the giant sized plates.
Remember your priorities and remember the reason you began making healthy choices. Be smart in your decisions - avoid fried, crumbed, and foods with tiny vegetables in them. Pick the beautiful seafood ! Fill up on the wholesome food before we consume those empty calories.
