HOME PRACTICE VS. YOGA CLASS
🧘🏻♀️ I’ve been thinking a lot lately about attending more yoga classes in a studio setting rather than in my home. When I am in a class setting though, I find myself having too many thoughts, especially the ones that compare myself to other people in the class. Ugh I hate those thoughts! I feel like it somewhat ruins my practice. I find myself trying harder to do the physical asanas to a point that my body might not be ready for. I sometimes forget about my breath. Today, I took a vinyasa yoga class at my gym. We were doing a revolved triangle pose and I needed to use a block to help me because I still struggle with this pose. Instead of focusing on myself, I kept staring at this one girl who was badass at this pose. Lol! I was like how in the hell is she so flexible! And my fuckin ego clouded my judgement and I didn’t use a block. 🤦♀️ I feel like when I am in the class I have to work much much harder on my mental practice, which is so difficult! Oh and another thing that I’m like super conscious of is queefing in front of the whole class. I mean obviously women can’t help it because the air slips in your vagina and needs to come out somehow especially after inversions. However, since our society is so strict on how women should act, it’s hard to feel okay with silly things like that. This particular thing made me avoid taking yoga classes for a long time, but now I’m like fuck it. There is no shame in being a woman! 😄💪🏼

Day three of #mindfulomies was up dog. Today I am grateful for the way music hits me. A couple of my favorite bands recently released new music and it’s been great. Some songs give me goosebumps when I listen to them. It’s just such a beautiful feeling. It makes me feel all the feels. Especially lucky ☺️💗
