Today was great. We went for a drive down a forrest service road in Mt Currie and found ourselves climbing high up the mountain through cut blocks of newly planted trees and discovered a forrest full of the most incredible mushrooms, dozens and dozens of species. They're so fun to photograph and it's amazing what you can do with some of the settings on the new Samsung Galaxy. Many of them really looked alien...I've always been fascinated by the idea that mushroom spores are the only living thing that they've found can survive in space 🍄👽 They communicate with trees in a symbiotic relationship. The hub trees (oldest and tallest trees in the forrest) get the most sunlight and thus produce the most sugar. Mushrooms have mycelium which are like little threads that grow around the root systems of trees to absorb the sugar and pass to the tree nutrients and h20 from the soil. Love these communal relationships. Give what you have. How do you receive gifts when both your hands are full ❤️🎁🙏
Snap shot from my Euro tour warm up laps on the sunny side of my favourite local mountain yesterday. I’m excited to be heading back over seas to rack some serious airtime in the alps over the next 10 days! || #learntocrow#mtcurrie#speedflying#coastmountains
When you go camping, raft for 2 days, flip the raft, arrive home battered and bruised but had the best time, then realise this is the only photo you have of the trip. Heading out to Lytton on Sunday the view of Mt Currie as we came through pemby was pretty gorgeous! (And slightly worrying for camping weather but the sun came through in the end!) #mtcurrie#stormyskies#rafting#campingfuntimes#survived
A recent fun little side project had me up-cycling old unwearable T-shirts and fabric off-cuts into dog chew toys! 🐶 ♻️
To help raise much needed funds for @pembertonpaws, you can purchase these toys at the PAWS booth at @pembyfarmersmarket today!
Also a big shout out to Rachael & PAWS volunteers who dedicate their time & expertise into saving and caring for the animals! ❤️ 🐶
PAWS~ Pemberton Animal Wellbeing Society:
Pemberton, BC’s own animal rescue shelter, PAWS is an organization developed to provide support and relief to local animals in need.
As the shelter runs solely on donations provided by the community, it relies on dedicated volunteers to keep it going. Almost every week another stray puppy or abandoned cat is brought to PAWS in dire need of support. With your help whether it be through volunteering, fostering or through donations, PAWS can continue to give these animals the help they need in order to start on their new journey.
Found our next camp spot on Lillooet Lake at Strawberry Point. The view is just alright 🤩⛺️!!! Now to overtake Lillooet Edge crag with my partner in “climb” (and everything else) with @carrie.mitchell.nd and Calvin!
