Movement is a must.
I’d say that’s a truth for everyone. We are made to move, we have the most amazing body that with a little bit of will, guts and work can learn the most beautiful things! And stir some balance into that, and you’ve got well-being. For body, mind and soul.
And if you’re one of those people that say “I’m not a physical person, it’s not for me”, maybe you just haven’t found your movement yet?
I don’t find all movements fun (like running? Omg snooooore 💤 😴) but stuff like yoga, acro-play, pole dance, inversions... that shit just makes me a smile on two legs. ❤️
After teaching my Sunday class today, we went to #rålambshovsparken and so much movement was going on (pole dance, acro yoga, cheerleading, juggling, fire dancers, samba dancing, beach volleyball and more) and the atmosphere was freaking oozing with inspiration and happy vibes. So awesome!😃
What do you think? Is movement for everyone, or is it just easy for me as a movement-junkie to think so?

"How can laying still virtually doing nothing be the hardest pose in yoga, and perhaps the most important? Savasana is also known as corpse pose, or dead body pose (...) [In Bikram] Stay there for a couple of minutes without moving, with your eyes open fully aware of your breath and practicing letting go of any distractions. For some, and many new yogis, this is the most difficult thing to do, not moving, not scratching, wiping sweat away, readjusting, whatever it is that keeps our mind running and causing a reaction.
This pose calms the body, allowing it to soak in all the hard work that was completed in the first part of class. It slows the heart rate down and gets you prepared for the second part of class. It also works to calm the mind even after class has ended and in a prolonged way if practiced often. During this posture, you are not just laying there doing nothing, you are training your mind to stay in the moment, focus, draw the mind way from distractions, and back to the breath.
By practicing this pose in the studio, you may notice you become less reactive outside of the studio. There’s a change in how you handle stress and unfavorable moments because you have been practicing letting go of the distractions, disturbing nuances, or whatever it may be that comes our way in life daily.
Make a point to improve your Savasana, your mind and body will thank you. "

If you attend my classes regularly you know that sometimes I play music, and sometimes it’s nothing but .
I often practice alone with no music as well- for me it’s important to once in awhile not let the mind escape in sound- I think it’s equally important to allow yourself to escape.
Maybe one day I’ll certify in yogance or buti yoga 🧘🏻♀️ because there is nothing like surrendering movement to sound 🎶 #yogance .

Try this one for strengthening the glutes (mostly!) and the core! 💪🏼
Start laying on your side with your band around the thighs just above the knees. Support yourself with your grounded arms, and you can keep your fingertips resting behind your neck/head. Try to keep the toes together as you ‘abduct’ the thighs, or pull the knees away from each other, trying to keep your grounded knee connected to the ground as your doing the exercise. .
I said something in the video about looking in towards the core to keep it engaged as opposed to looking all about and allowing the core to be open and unengaged. Always keep an awareness of the core in any exercise you’re doing, for the full effectiveness with the least amount of ‘reps’. ☺️👌🏼
I could give you sets and reps, but I often just try to work until muscle fatigue! Challenge yourself! You can always bust out a few more than you think you can! 😅👏🏼
I’ll share the set I’m using on my stories! I’m using the X-Heavy band out of a set of 5. You could start with a lighter resistance and move to a heavier resistance over time! 😊
