Well it took few weeks but here it is - double 32kg turkish get up!!! 💪💪 I believe it is first time I got it so very happy with it. It is about 80% of my bodyweight.

I think I stop here because wish not to take higher risk while trying to reach heavier weights. I got this great idea from my handstand online student and had to give it a try. I have always avoided muscle ups with bar because it did not feel good on my wrists and elbows. I've done them but preferred rings. However with this "machine" I can take off half of my bodyweight so it actually felt very good conditioning for the forearms and elbows. And of course I had to try some planche push ups! 😅

Not sure does this ever improve any real skills but for conditioning and for playing it is great! Maybe I start liking that pull up bar... Glute ham raise is one of my alltime favourite drills for the hamstrings. It is sad that I stopped doing them because "didn't have good place to do it" 🤥 really I was just lazy and silly! Few years ago I was able to do the harder version of it and must say my hamstrings were strong and healthy then!
Today no chance to do the full version but I promised myself I will do my weekly GHR's from now on. Lets see how does this progress. Last week I spent filming new material for my upcoming courses / online courses and other projects and for the weekend we went to our holiday house for some recovery time. Today I started testing how things work and because I felt doing something out of ordinary, I picked up few kettlebells and did few set of random drills. This one was actually very nice one 👌

Perform 1-3x/day for stretching and stability purposes, specifically if you have back pain from excessive sitting.
1️⃣ Wall Angels (keep your hands and elbows touching the wall at all times and move slowly) x 10-20 reps
2️⃣ Shoulder Blade Squeezes (move from a relaxed position to squeezing your shoulder blades together. Hold for 5 seconds) x 10-20 reps
3️⃣ Wall Marches (keep your back and palms of your hands pressed to the wall and try to keep your pelvis completely still as you start to march) x 10-20 reps
4️⃣ Cat/Cow (I like to add forward/backward rocking for additional stretching) x 10-15 reps

Elevated shrimp squat - how to do it? With any squats you must control your body alignment. So just like back squat focus on retracting(squeeze) your scapulas and keep upright position. By controlling ypur upperbody, rest is a lot easier!

With shrimp squat you also need to keep the free leg tight against you glutes so take a good grip! Then you just need to squat. Your glutes should work a lot at the bottom position so try to lift yourself by using your butt muscles. Once you get off the floor the quads (front muscles of the leg) and especially the VMO part is very much loaded.

If you cannot perform it, it might be that you don't have the necessary strength but it can also be lack of mobility or coordination for this very special movement. But it is doable pretty easy if you wish to achieve it.

Regarding the physical aspect of this movement system. It’s definitely hard for the wrists. After 40 min my wrists got very tired. It’s good for the core and general fitness level. For sure, I will incorporate some of these movements into my daily practice.”

It must be more than two years from the last time I did TGU's. Wanted to try how does it feel with no supporting arm. I think all the straight arm work and rolling around the floor has helped a lot. This is why I love and believe movement in any given form. It does not only teach you to be strong or mobile, it creates better knowledge of how you can use your body in different situations. German hang - nice combination of skill, strength and mobility. Really not that difficult to learn so technically very simple but to do it without kipping or bending legs, you must build strong (and flexible) foundation.

Here is few drills that I used to achieve it. There was many more aswell but these should get you to right path. 💪

There is different tools for each of them and even though there is always some overlap, you must understand what kind of movement resonate at which way. Skill spesific mobility for stalders does not come with spinal waves but stalder press does not necessary help you if you have hamstring issues or back pain.

So know your tools and then use them wisely!

 Of course my alignment need some adjustment so it would not go 🍌 but it is important not to let the perfection stop you doing. You need to start from somewhere and let the magic happen in the long run.

It's main job is to make it easier to get down and stay there without too much of muscle work. Some conditioning work with kettlebells. Not my "cup of tea" anymore but I do them occasionally because it is good to give different tasks for the body to deal with. But still it is good to lift external weights occasionally and this floor drill is something I used to do a lot when I lift kettlebells. Evening practice included some body levers and because we don't have any stall bars, I used kettlebells for the counterweight.
