Cold days are here, soups are calling! Check out this creamy zucchini soup recipe:
🍴 2 large zucchinis (chopped)
🍴 1⁄2 medium red onion (chopped)
🍴 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
🍴 2 tablespoons olive oil
🍴 2 cups organic full fat coconut milk
🍴 1 cup vegetable stock
🍴 Juice of 2 lemons
🍴 1 teaspoon sea salt
🍴 Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
In a medium saucepan add olive oil, onion, garlic, and zucchini. Cook until fragrant and tender, about 15 minutes. Add vegetable stock during this cooking process to help steam cook the zucchini in the skillet (about 1⁄2 cup use the rest for blending). Place what you’ve just cooked and all remaining ingredients in a blender and blend until thick and smooth. Taste test to adjust for any seasoning, or add a squeeze of lemon juice and re-blend. • • • .

RELIEVE SCIATIC NERVE PAIN.

⚡These are some movement options to help relieve sciatic nerve pain. This little sequence is one that I've found helpful for many of my office workers because it can be done right from the office chair at work and integrates easily into their daily life.

Many people who deal with sciatic pain tend to be intolerant to flexion. And sitting for prolonged periods in flexion can often lead to some irritation for them. So in order to help them get the pain to calm down, we have to make some temporary modifications at work.

☝🏼 My number one recommendation is to figure out how long you can sit comfortably and then set a timer on your phone to get up and move before that threshold hits. If you have the option of a standup desk or a sit to stand desk (mine here is from @ergonofis) then you can easily just change positions as needed.
.
At times though, we get deep into work or maybe it's just a "bad day" and we didn't sleep well the night before or you're stressed and the pain is coming on a bit more than usual. While I still want you to take that break to stand and move, having a little routine like this can really help to calm things down. I have patients run through 20 to 30 seconds of each movement (hamstring, priirformis, and the appropriate nerve glide) per side to help everything chill out.

Did you know that where you are feeling pain might not be the problem?

Quite often, the OPPOSITE side of your body is restricted. For example: when hiking with a pack, you might start feeling upper back pain. You might think it's your back that's tight, so you round your shoulders forward, trying to "stretch" it out as you continue.
But it doesn't help. Maybes it's even worse. Why? Because the tightness is coming from your chest (the opposite side!). Towards the end of a long hiking day I will stop consistently to stretch my chest against rocks or trees. This can bring down the pain or even prevent that upper back pain from happening at all 🤘

The hardest bit for me was learning to work with my body, not against it. My head was seriously wanting to train ‘hard & fast’ , but my body was so NOT ready for it. ⠀

Learning to slow myself down physically was a huge challenge. Forced to find ways to feel good in my  mind & body (that didn’t involve hard & fast exercise) meant exploring new way of moving & connecting with my body. It also meant exploring meditation, movement mindset, body image & overall self perception. ⠀
⠀
Finding alternative ways to connect with the body & with self is ‘the missing piece of the puzzle’ for so many women. Whether they are wanting to improve performance, recover well postnatally, enjoy a positive birth experience or improve self image & body image. Feeling inwardly, & going on ‘that journey’ is for me the most important piece. ⠀

✨Connect with your body & with yourself. ⠀
✨Be willing to start where you are at. ✨Ask yourself the ‘hard questions’. ✨Find self compassion, & self kindness. ⠀
✨ Take the TIME.....⠀

Be warned though, once you begin this journey there will be no looking back!

Trying adding in rolling exercises to your daily routine! The floor is a great way to stretch and self massage the areas around your ribcage and shoulder blade in a variety of vectors!⁣

This has to be the most thrilling job I’ve ever had. Everything I absolutely love to do (directing, choreographing, dancing & movement coaching) for the one and only @leagueoflegends 🔥 Due to animation, there were certain limitations on movements for choreography. For example, head whips would make the girls bald for a second lol. The limitations actually helped me to focus more about the characters and who were playing the characters which made this creative process extremely fun. I studied every characteristics of the skins from their personality even to their fingers. I thought about movements that would enhanced the animation from the MV to stage. As for movement coaching, I wanted to make sure to keep every single aspect of each artist true to themselves since they were specifically chosen for each skin. I don’t like to change people too much. I think they’re absolutely incredible as is. I’m just there to create more ideas, emotions and vocabulary to their natural habits. Thank you @riotgames for having me be a part of this insanely one of a kind performance. I am forever grateful. A combination of two skills I came up with last week. I’ve never done the backward cartwheel on this side, but it felt pretty good to do it after slow forward cartwheel. Once you understand certain principles of movement, it is easy to transfer it to a different scenario. Build solid foundation, so you don’t have to struggle with advanced movement patterns. ⠀

Sometimes, you have to train your ability to do things wrong. Not just to physically fail better through different movement options. 
But also to mentally fail well. You’re response in defeat is as important as your response to a victory. 
I used to be that kid who “liked falling” all the time. When I went to class I used to deliberately mess things up to practice that contingency plan. 
Even to this day, I will sometimes use that process and enjoy it. How’s your relationship to failure?

The last 4 months of my life have been crazy, beautiful, full of growth, new and old connections, decisions, transformations and plenty of pinch myself moments. ⠀
I have been so in it I haven't had a moment to reflect let alone share my experience with all of you on the gram. ⠀
Studying dance in NYC > embarking on a life changing Tantra training in the UK >  teaching my Still Movement Workshop in London > and spending time exploring the alleyways of Paris and the countryside of France. ⠀
A week ago I landed in back in Cambodia to continue on my journey teaching at the beautiful @vagabondtemple. I am SO blessed to be here sharing my passion. As I write this, looking out upon the beauty that surrounds, my heart feels HUGE and touched by all the people I have met on the way. I AM SMILING.

Naast topsport geef ik bootcamptrainingen aan kids en ben ik sinds kort begonnen met small group training aan 3/4 vrouwen die graag fitter door het leven willen gaan. Deze vrouwen zijn o.a. vriendinnen van mij. De win - win situatie is dat ik:
- Mijn vriendinnen vaker zie;
- Het is super leerzaam;
- En ik een kleine groep mag motiveren voor een actieve en gezonde leefstijl.
Na de les merk ik dat zij zich voldaan voelen en dat geeft mij extra energie. 
Ditzelfde gebeurd bij de trainingen die ik geef voor @bootcamp4kidsnederland. Ik krijg daar energie van omdat ik zie hoe effectief het is. Dit alles kost niet veel extra van mijn tijd en ik kan mijn trainersvaardigheden vast ontwikkelen.

When we get blue or deep on ourselves we can give a huge amount of authority away to self deprivation, past experiences, social imprints and negative thoughts. We lead from these parts in our life and let them be the only teacher. 
Have you thought about going in there to stare it in the face? Ask it what its purpose is? Why it needs to send you in a loop? It is the truth now? 
Can we instead observe the thoughts and then decide on a new narrative to start living by and allowing that to weave a new vision for us to live by. Just thinking.

As individualised and unique as each of us are, I’d love to hear from you, what makes you feel strong(physically)? .

For me it’s being able use my bodyweight in a variety of different feats through controlled full range of movement. It’s being able to properly execute all the fundamental movements of humans(Squats, Push, pulls) and then take all that and level it up to constantly challenge and grow in this art of mindful movement. ☁️ .
