Ppl say I am a strong person. It seems to amaze people that I can just easily let go of something or someone .... I can completely walk away from anyone without dealing with them without getting upset. The truth is, I do get upset but I have to forgive and let go. It's not easy at all but I learned it's something we have to do for our own peace of mind.
When I was recovering from my 10 year depression I realized I gave alot of people my energy who didn't deserve it. Allowed my anger and resentment towards others turn me into someone bitter, and negative. I hated myself and everyone around me. I heard so much about forgiveness and how it helps. I didn't want to forgive. I was too pissed and thought they didn't deserve my forgiveness. I learned forgiveness isn't for the others it was for me. It was for my sanity and peace of mind. And once I realized that I was able to forgive and I not be 100% but I can tell you my baggage is A LOT LIGHTER!!! #forgiveness#peaceofmind#mentaltransformation#mentalhealth#ilovemyself#realwomen#reallife#choosepositive#positivevibes#youcandoit#realifequotes#inbabodybuilding#inba#moveforward#movingon#letitgo#baggage
We can hardly believe winter is almost upon us! However, the cold weather and patches of snow lingering on the ground here in the Northeast are a constant reminder today.
As you know, we like to update our reading lists during the transitional time between seasons. This gives us a chance to reflect on what we have read and learned and allows us to prioritize new books and new skills.
Here’s a glimpse at one book on our shelf. Teresita is currently reading Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman in Spanish. She states that Goleman “shares how to increase mindfulness” and she “recommends this book to anyone who wants to continue developing their personal growth and become more focused leaders.” #whatwearereadingwednesday#winterreadinglist#danielgoleman#focus#mindfulness#lifelonglearners#moveforward

Today we celebrated my Grandmother’s 89th Birthday and attended the second Annual Mary E. Campos Scholarship luncheon. It was honestly the best decision I made bringing my son to attend this event. He got the opportunity to hear first hand what my grandma experienced as a Hispanic youth growing up in the US. The hard labor her parents put in to provide a dream to their children, being confronted with racism and overcoming major barriers as a Latino Woman. She was the first in her family to graduate high school and go to college. And she to this day fights to that opportunity for the up and coming generations. She is my positive influence. She embodies passion, power, purpose & integrity. She is one of the Top reasons why I continue to move forward with my dream to make a reality. Happy Birthday to my force of nature grandmother! And I wish you many more! #mygrandmotherrocks#humanrights#secondaryeducation @alexitoia #moveforward
Speaking and living in our truth is so hard sometimes. It can seem that everything is working against us, trying to keep us quiet, trying to keep us small. It is uncomfortable to change, and even more so to shout it from the rooftops. .
“If you bring forth what is within you it will save you. If you do not, it will destroy you” -Stephen Cope. .
Sobriety was like this for me, it stirred in my life for years. I knew I was bound for it, knew it was the only way I could live a completely authentic life. The concept was so overwhelming though. Eventually having alcohol in my life became more overwhelming than the idea of giving it up, so I did it, and it saved me. Now I can move forward, now I can stand in my truth, now I can get big.
Your journey towards improving your physique is similar to taking a journey to a destination you’ve never been before without a Sat Nav 🤯⠀
You know where about’s you wanna be, but you don’t know the full detail and route of the journey... 🤷🏽♂️⠀
Anticipate taking a few wrong turns, expect a few diversions but don’t stop... As long as your goal or destination remains front of mind you’ll eventually get there 👊🏽⠀
