I get asked a lot how do I stay so positive and motivated. When I couldn’t answer, it got me thinking.
I’ve discovered that a large part of why is my ability to be grateful.
Whenever I have a knee-jerk reaction to something negative, I remind myself that every positive and negative event in my life has contributed to my advancement in one way or another.
Being grateful isn’t about being thankful. It’s being thankful on a deeper level. Whether that’s to other people, nature or a higher power. I personally don’t believe in a higher power, but it does play a role in many religions. For ex, in Judaism you are encouraged to start every day being grateful for waking up again. I love that.
It is hard to be in a negative place when everything you have is a bonus.
If you are able to read this post, it means that you are rich in life. You have a roof over your head, you can feed yourself, and you are healthy, which is something that cannot be said for a vast proportion of the world.
Waking up every day with the attitude that you have everything you need and more there is very little to be negative about. Life is good no matter what happens.
This isn’t just mumbojumbo, it’s fully research backed. Studies have shown that being thankful or grateful in general results in an improved sense of well-being, better life satisfaction, even better physical/mental health to the point that if people with heart failure completed gratitude journals they had reduced inflammation, better sleep and much better mood after only 8 weeks. Even being more willing to forgive others and less narcissistic (unless you’re into that 😂🤙🏽)
Even in 2014 it has been shown that being grateful has shown much greater levels of self control. Imagine the application of that, especially when it comes to your nutrition.
Now, there is no point knowing all that if it doesn’t add to your life. I ask you to do one thing for the next 3 days. It’s very simple.
Before you fall asleep, just think of three things that you are thankful for. That’s it. Watch what happens 😉.

So i am still working this weekend....feeling grief and blue as usual BUT i have seen 4 posts recently ..one of the grand canyon, flying over vegas and the Hoover damn, a helicopter ride and just now the bodies exhibition and last night in a movie on netflix was a good old song Highwaymen that has a line about working on a damn and being buried in the concrete....now the significance of ALL of this to me was reminders of one of the best vacations i ever had when i went to Vegas, flew in a helicopter to the bottom of the gc, saw the bodies at the Luxor, travelled miles inside the Hoover damn...I used every ounce of my vacation time up for care and funerals sadly this year so...i have been taking days here and there as i earn them to keep my sanity. Long story, long (sorry)...i have a 3 day weekend staying on St Pete Beach this coming weekend and it cant come soon enough! I heard this on the radio this morning and it reminded me that we can all take ourselves higher in life. We can all achieve more and go further. We're only limited by our own thinking.
If we don't like where we are in life, we have the power to change it. 💪 We just have to decide to change it. We have to decide to improve and we have to focus on that daily.
We all experience setbacks and temporary failures, but we must press on. ⛰ We must keep climbing.

Three years ago I joined the gym after pretty much skipping out on my health for the entirety of my college years. My boss and mentor really encouraged me to get back into the gym because it was such a passion of mine in high school and, let's be honest, I was packing on some pounds.
Flash forward these three years, and I've logged 658 workouts. I typically try to go 5 days a week at 5 a.m. 🕔 and never on the weekends, which adds up to 780 days.
There are many days I don't feel like going or am just too tired to go, like yesterday. I beat myself up for missing a day here or a day there. But in reality, with 658 lifts in 780 days, I've had a success rate of nearly 85%! I suppose the moral of the story is, don't beat yourself up if you're not hitting your goals 💯 Focus on the daily discipline and, if you have a bad day, don't give up or forsake the whole week. Get back on track tomorrow or as soon as possible.
