He just so happened to be in the perfect pocket of green 💚
This little guy was curious and came out of the brush to greet us. He hung out with us for a solid 5 minutes until he went back into the shade to catch a nap. Appreciate his spirit!
Overly stoked to get out and soak up some vitamin d and explore the mountains tomorrow 🏔

Thanks to @gowestycampers we’ve got a fresh transaxle headed our way today and we can’t wait to start trekking toward Alaska on Friday if all goes well with the replacement🤞
In the meantime, we’ve started a small campaign to help balance the unexpected costs of this giant project.
Check out the link in our profile if you’d like to buy a personalized Ruby postcard and help keep us rolling down the road.
I was captivated by the beauty of this place. Feels like I have arrived to Mars. Such incredible rock formations all around me with so much history behind it all. Truly an inspiring moment.
White herons are everywhere on this island 😍
#TransformationTuesday || It’s been nearly 4 years since my first true “outdoorsy” experience.
It was a backpacking trip that began with the excitement of shopping for my first pack, breaking in new boots, and borrowing all of the other gear I needed. That excitement quickly dissolved into tears within the first half mile, when I realized that I had just committed to lugging all of this heavy borrowed gear, in a backpack that I didn’t know how to adjust, while wearing boots that I hadn’t broken in.
Nearly 2.5 miles later, my tears grew into a big cheesy grin when I reached the campsite and realized just how much I was capable of.
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend @appalachianmountainclub‘s 60th Annual Mountain Leadership School, where I, along with 7 other ladies (and our instructors), took part in the first ever Women’s Specific Backpacking program.
Over the past few years, I’ve shed a few more tears on the trail, but I haven’t lost that big cheesy grin. I’ve had amazing backpacking adventures in the White Mountains and along the coast of Maine, but my experience at MLS has left me even more eager to explore areas that can only be reached on foot, and to share them with others.
📸: My turn as “leader of the day” guiding the ladies along the Franconia Ridge this weekend ➡️ Hitting the trail on my first backpacking trip (before the tears)

Never know where the path will take you. Unless you've been there before. Then you'll know, but you know what I'm getting at.
Home from a lovely trip to Bologna - it was beautiful but very hot... ☀️ so hot that there was a little bit of reminiscing about the snow! ❄️ this was taken half way up Mount Titlis, around (a frozen) Lake Trübsee 🌲🌊✨
