Outrunning the monsoon like bosses
Big thanks to @glennswansun and Josh for keeping me motivated. We conquered Abineau to Bear Jaw this morning. With about 2,000 ft of elevation gain in less than 3 miles this is a super tough 7 mile loop. The views and aspen groves make it totally worth it though. The pictures really don’t do them justice.
It feels like Scotty can't catch a break with his running at the moment... But although yesterday didn't turn out how he'd hoped, there were definitely some positives to take away from the race. And I think every race that he competes in should be celebrated, whether he wins or doesn't finish! Because the same amount of hard work and training goes in to getting to the start line, the same dedication and commitment is required, and he has to take the same amount of time away from his two favourite girls!
Ultra running is an incredibly tough sport to be competing in, both physically and mentally! And if I'm being completely honest, it's hard on the ones that love the runners too!
Once we arrived back at the hotel yesterday, and after the athlete soaked in the shower, the three of us cuddled up in bed before dinner. Sienna was giggling away, stroking Scotty's face and gazing into his eyes as she so often does! Scotty and I both agreed that moments like that put everything else into perspective! 📷: the incredible view of the Eiger from our hotel room balcony in Grindelwald!
