I was going to leave it alone, but then @anielates had this amazing post for #motivationmonday about celebrating your sexy and I felt compelled to think. The more I think, and reflect on the natal chart horoscope reading I did recently, the more I realize that I’m my own motivation. I push me to be better than anyone else and accomplish things I never thought I would. Andddd it’s helped me realize that I’m really my own worst critic. All the doubt and frustrations really come from my own self wanting to constantly improve and be better. But the good news is that I’m trying, slowly but surely, to be more forgiving of myself and really celebrate where I am now. Thanks universe for allowing me the space and time to grow into myself. Went golfing (golf range) for the first time and damn do I suck lol BUT because I suck I kept at it, I'm stubborn like that...legit first 20-30 tries I could barely hit the tee let alone the damn ball. Who knew it was so hard to hit something that isnt moving😒

If I want a donut, I have the dang donut! I don’t eat a dozen because honestly that makes me sick and I couldn’t fit that many into my macros (if you’re able to- teach me your ways please)- but I eat one or two, enjoy it, move on with my day. .

If I want fruit, I eat it and enjoy it. .

I drink diet soda because I love diet soda. Is it the healthiest for me? Nope. But I drink lots of water and stay as hydrated as possible when I do drink it. .

Stop viewing food as what you can and can’t have or this is good and this is bad. .

Does a plate full of vegetables have a lot more fiber and micronutrients than a cookie does? Yes! But if you want a cookie- eat a cookie. If you’re feeling hungry- maybe skip the cookie today and fill up on vegetables and have the cookie another day. .

I really truly believe that you should eat and enjoy all foods. When you stop limiting what you can and can’t eat, that’s when a healthy and sustainable lifestyle is found.

Before, I couldn’t even attempt to wrap a standard towel around me. And now, all I have left is a little bit of thigh showing. I can’t wait to see how much will change by this time next year!

1️⃣6 banded KB Sumo Squats
➡️banded walks to the next KB
3️⃣6 banded goblet squats
⬅️banded backwards walks back to the first KB
✨2x back and forth=1 round
✨Complete 3 rounds total resting for 30-60 seconds in between
✨You don’t have to squat all the way down during the walks, just a slight bend in the knees to keep tension in the glutes
✨Keep the weight in your heels-this ensures you’re working your glutes as opposed to your quads.

To some, this may not look “so bad”. But every time I look at this picture, it makes me say “thank god Im not in that life anymore”.

I was eating fast food EVERYDAY. I was in an abusive relationship. I was drinking heavily everyday. I didn’t even own a gym membership. I NEVER did anything active. •
It wasn’t just that I was overweight and unhealthy, I was sad, no confidence, low self esteem and not doing ANYTHING that I loved. •
Eventually, the universe responded and my things changed for me.
•
I started to find a healthy lifestyle AND find myself once again, and that was the start of a new life. •
Many life changing things have happened since that picture was taken but the bottom line is that I got myself out of a very scary situation I didn’t think I could. •
I want yall to know, that if you are reading this right now and if you are personally going through something similar, just know that you CAN be better and there is a light. 
Yes, it can take motivation and guidance, but ultimately it’s up to YOU to help yourself and say yes to a better life. You can do it. •
I don’t ever want to go back to that life again, and I will make sure of it today and forever. •

I have had a lot of “Day Ones” in my life. I struggled with my health and weight long before these pictures started. In fact I had lost over 40 lbs before coaching. It definitely was not a healthy loss most of the time, though. I was the queen of quick fixes and fad diets, I tried it all! The thing that is different though is that coaching came in the picture in 2014, and gave me the accountability to show up for myself because I needed to show up for others. No more crash diets, pills, weird fake foods, and no more quitting! It has not been easy {that’s why it’s called a journey}, but I have been following my workout and nutrition plans from start to finish, and running my boot camps for hundreds of people for the past 4.5 years.

Today was a new kinda “Day One”. I started an 8 week program, and I felt super proud of how far I have have come. Yes, I still show up for others. BUT, I have learned to show up for the most important person in my life everyday. That person is ME!

Tonight’s dinner is just random shit that sounded good at the time thrown together. Cheesy egg whites, marinara lentil pasta and cheddar broccoli. There’s at least 40grams of protein here. 🙌🏼 it really is delicious considering it’s so random. I feel bad for people who are picky eaters 😂

His whole issue with what God was asking him to do was that by being God’s messenger, he’d be giving, arguably, the most wicked people to have ever lived the opportunity to experience God’s grace and mercy.

I think it’s fair to say we’ve all held some form of judgment  towards a particular group of people or a certain person we’ve demonized. What I find interesting about the story of Jonah is God’s gracious correction on where true value lies.
.
God attributes value to both Jonah AND the limb tearing tyrants of Nineveh and gives BOTH the opportunity to experience his love. What I can’t tell is if Jonah didn’t know his value, or if he did so well that he feared what was actually possible through him.
.
I think most of us are either woefully unaware of how valuable we are and treat ourselves like awful tyrants would, or that we have a pretty good idea of how valuable we are and it terrifies us.
.
For many of my clients, my program is the first time they actually chose to invest in themselves and to commit to carving out time for their own well-being. What they experience as a result brings us both to tears. It breaks my heart that so many of us, somehow along the way, become stifled and hindered in living out the fullness of who we are.
.
Lack of self care is only part of it. At the core, there’s a limited view of how valuable we are, how powerful we are, and what an incredible ability we have to receive and give real LOVE.
.
When we look at the worth God attributes to every single life, even to the point of laying down his own, we can begin to consider our own value and what’s possible through us. And you know I can’t help but wonder? What if every person was as healthy as they could be, what kind of unhindered impact they could have?

Several of you know my story, but many of my new friends don’t, so I thought I would use today as an opportunity to share! 
Two and a half years ago, I had several mini strokes & ended up in the hospital for 10 days. I underwent every test you could think of...CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, a TEE of my heart, & a LOT of blood work to try to figure out why it happened. I found out that I have a rare type of blood cancer called Essential Thrombocythemia. I have to take a chemotherapy drug every day for the rest of my life & get my blood work done regularly. The doctor also said I have the hips of a 65 yr old woman & I suffer from joint pain every day. I went from training clients and exercising all the time... to laying in bed all day, every day for 2 months. I dealt with neurological issues (balance, vision, thought processing, etc) as well as anxiety and depression. All I looked forward to was food. The highlight of my day was what I got to have for my next meal or what surprise desserts my family would bring me to make me feel better. As you can imagine, I put on quite a bit of weight during that time. The pic on the left was Jan 2016. I felt so uncomfortable in my own body. I didn’t recognize myself. None of my clothes fit. I got breathless and had to sit down after just walking up a few stairs. It sucked... but I was determined that this “low point” was going to one day be an awesome success story. 
Day by day, I could move around a little more...make better food choices... I messed up a lot, but trying is always better than not trying. I finally got back to a “regular” routine and lost about 10 lbs by April 2016. But I was still not where I wanted to be. I felt “stuck” in a lot of ways...mentally, professionally, physically... I’ve always been self conscious and had body issues. I’ve struggled with negative thoughts about myself for as long as I can remember. I would over analyze every little flaw & no matter how good I looked, it was never good enough. 
April 2017, I quit my job spur of the moment and decided to take a chance. I started coaching & working out at Orangetheory Fitness Barboursville. The atmosphere...the workouts...the people...

I’ve been so bad y’all. I’ve been drinking tons of alcohol on the weekend. Indulging in my greatest weakness (Cheetos ❤️). I was more active last week got a good workout in Monday-Friday, but no heavy lifting. My eating was not on point I consumed all types of sugar. These last two weeks I’ve been soooooo tired, I feel like I can barely function. So I’m detoxing my body of sugar, it was fun being a sugar feen but my body doesn’t look or feel the way I want it to. My focus and discipline is low and my relationship with food is unhealthy therefore the sugar must go. Yes, you must have patience, but not PASSIVE patience.
•• Achieving success in anything is a process & like any other - it’s going to take time; but knowing that fact does not give us the permission slip or excuse to lay back and expect things to unravel in front of us. It’s a stepwise process and we must climb step after step, flight after flight, of the staircase. •

The difference between being PURPOSEFULLY PATIENT & being PASSIVELY PATIENT is the overall attitude & mindset surrounding the process. •

Having patience doesn’t mean that doing X, Y, or Z leaves the rest of the day free to bum out on Reddit, watch cat videos, or scroll Instagram and justify it with a mindset of: “it’s going to take time anyway—I’ve done enough for now”. •

This fallacious way of thinking is ultimately self-destructive as we hold the door and welcome in our shortcomings. We’re leaving the tank half empty. We’re not thirsting for a full glass. •

Another example in a completely different context: perhaps your goal is to lose weight or try to make better choices overall for a healthier lifestyle... Let’s say you ate 3 ‘healthy’ meals today and decide that you’ve now ‘earned the ‘right’ to go ALLL OUT (or in this case, all IN) on your old pals Ben & Jerry.

“Weight loss is process which I must patiently endure anyway, so this B&J pint won’t set me back by any significant amount of time that I wouldn’t be waiting anyway.” This type of thinking reflects passive patience and is certainly a half-baked approach (pun intended)

If we long for success, why don’t we also long to optimize ourselves along the way? .

For anyone that knows me you probably have never seen me wear shorts because I have always hated my legs.
Now thanks to this program I am no longer the awkward one wearing pants all summer !! I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. I know there are more people out there wearing things just to cover up.
