Lately I’ve been noticing that I’m way more of a morning gym person than anything. If I don’t go in the morning, then I’m most likely not going at all😅 I just prefer to get it out of the way I guess🤷🏻‍♀️
I was going to film my entire workout.. but my phone ran out of storage, so here’s what I got for you ✌🏼

I spent a lot of time food shopping and cooking this weekend... more so than is really logical usually 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I got Buffalo Chicken Casserole (Meal Two-from Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook @paleomg ) and Chicken Pot “Pie” with Mashed Potato Crust (Meal Three-from @thymeandjoy / @whole30recipes ), along with butternut squash soup and salmon cakes, so I feel like I’m starting the week off on a good note. I don’t know what’s going on with me but this is my current situation.

Cold, clamy, nauseous, stomachache, headache, body aches. .

I was disappointed I didn’t wake up ready to press play after a recovery day. I haven’t had an appetite or the motivation to meal prep. Sure I’ve been doing all of my workouts but they haven’t felt like I’ve been giving it my all.

I’m going to take this evening to myself, go to bed early & hopefully wake up ready to start week three! 💤

While I'm not too into the group x classes (I get nervous with the choreography) you will totally see me jumping in on the group personal training classes when I can.  So far with my crazy two job three kid life, I've been able to take Sam Sculpt (seen here), Performance Platform, and Gainz.  I love the classes because you get the benefit of motivation from not only the trainer but the other people taking the class too.  Sometimes, when you're by yourself if you don't feel like working hard, you don't.  But, it's human nature that if the person next to you is going all out, you're more likely to do the same.  If you're looking to get an intense workout, great motivation, and even lose a few pounds in the process, I highly recommend trying one of the small groups.  P.S. - first class is free. So many people debate what time is the best time to hit the gym/get your daily exercise in, whilst it isn’t exactly the nicest hour of the day to be up, I can’t get past an early morning workout and start my day high on endorphins, feeling like I have accomplished something already.

So, my daughter missed a PE class a little while back and she needed to make up the “run” and log it for her teacher. 
All she told me was it was a “approx 6km trail run”. She is not a runner and has been dealing with a bad hip lately so I knew we’d be a slower pace than what I would do. I was ok with that because today was about HER and getting this accomplished.

Ummm, little did I know this was hardly a run. The first little bit and the last little bit were a trail run, yes, but ummm that section inbetween was a HIKE!!
My legs are gonna be sore tomorrow!
We are both enjoying our recover drinks now - definitely  earned them!!

Someone near me recently said, “ugh, WHY anyone would willingly subject themselves to a marathon is beyond me!” and I was so surprised by her strong sense of abject horror that I was speechless at the time.

But this morning, as I woke up in the dark, got all my running stuff ready, laced up and headed out [still in the dark, trying to not make eye contact with the creepy Halloween decorations💀😱], I thought abt what I would’ve liked to have said in response. I would’ve said:
.
 Training for a marathon and running a marathon completely changes you. 
It teaches you. Humbles you. Shapes you. Forces and carves out the better version of you that you never would’ve thought existed — that you might never have even imagined COULD have existed!
.
The marathon teaches you humility, respect for others, and respect for yourself. It builds your confidence, not on inflated platitudes, but on proven results. 
It breaks the limitations you didn’t even realize you had placed on yourself.
.
The marathon is not just a means in growing in physical fitness — it is an OPPORTUNITY that asks of you: 
Do you want to see just how far you can go, how high you can reach?
.
Yes, the marathon is hard, and it demands all of you, and that might feel “beyond” comprehension to some. 
But for me, I want to know. 
I want to find out. 
I want to see. 
Just how much I can be capable of, 
and what else I might discover.

I DID NOT want to get up & workout today due to a terrible nights sleep (cough cough thanks lil L); for sure could have stayed on the couch watching Disney movies with my boy. For the past two weeks I have been feeling sluggish and unmotivated to workout. 
Today I finally felt tired of feeling that way, threw on my favorite workout apparel (@amariactive ) and l got my ass back in the gym! 
I had a great booty workout (I also threw in some ab work towards the end) and feel great!

Today is the start of my consistent workout plan. No more slacking, time to make these booty gains and snatched waist happen!

It feels so so good to kick start my mornings with a good workout and healthy nutrition, and daily I see the change that is occurring within my physical body, through increased energy, my body craving better foods, and more motivation! Not only that, but I have better focus throughout my day, more confidence, and I find my mood levelling out, and for someone like me, that's a big thing to achieve!
