*Today was a good day*
In early 2011 I learned what a LPC was for the first time. How they are very client centered, and can practice psychotherapy independently. I felt a strong calling towards it as I was already working in the mental health field since 2009, and had an even longer history with counseling and mental health since being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003. By fall 2011 I had transferred programs (I was in a Psychology masters program at the time) into a Clinical mental health counseling program. (Shout out @keanuniversity). 3 transformative years later, I graduated. Due to moving from NJ, who only requires 2 years of post graduate supervised practice to become a LPC, to GA who requires 3 years...it took me 4 years post graduation to finally be able to say I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor!! So after going to school full time, while working two jobs with internships, graduating, moving which forced me to start from scratch, having 2-3 jobs at one time, soo many supervision hours, and endless paperwork and applications- I am damn proud to be here.
“Day 1: CREATION”...
So excited to be creating, expressing, designing again. Next year I will be releasing a whole series of pieces I’ve created! After almost a year in a half of “taking a break” and getting my life together..after living so long not doing or being who I wanted to be, me as an artist I felt blocked. I’m overflowing with creativity right now in what seems like forever! It’s funny how where you are in life reflects the gifts inside. I’ve gotten to have the privilege of having my very own art room and teaching/inspiring youth through art this year. I’ve learned and gave so much! Now I’m excited for the next chapter of releasing my artistic aesthetic. #liberation#freedom#release#acrylicblog#inspired#staytuned#moretocome#imback
2018 has been a great year of some good races and training, although I have the feeling 2019 will be bigger then ever as I have made the decision not to do year 12 to fully focus on achieving my dreams in running. 🏃🙏💦🏆🏟🔥
