RIP Stan Lee, who made dreams into heroes into reality for so many of us. Our favorite was Silver Surfer -- a cosmic surfer, poet, messiah of sorts, nobel and tragic. Like #StanLee . Like #surfers . Like us.
Taking a moment to honor a fallen hero known as Stan Lee, the legendary man behind marvel and the man who made my childhood special and inspired me to become a better man to this day. It’s very sad to see such an inspirational and moving individual pass from this earth but he is in a better comic book world where he will achieve greatness the same way he did while he was with us all. Let’s never forget how he created characters that touched our hearts, made us laugh, and made us all cry when they died in the same way that Stan Lee did to all of us. I can never forget all of his cameos in the marvel cinematic universe and how each brief moment made the movie better and his legacy will live on throughout the marvel characters and the universe as a whole. R. I.P to not only a legend but also a real life hero that will forever be in my heart. #love#marvel#restinpeace#stanlee#deadpool#moonknight#artwork#passion
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows PS3 (2008)
The traversal is amazing, and the best I've ever experienced (other than Spiderman 2). The boss fights and interactions with other marvel characters are spectacular (swapping punches and slashes with Wolverine and Venom on the city streets is thrilling). The voice acting is excellent. The combat system is exciting to watch in action. The score by Jamie Christopherson is also fitting, and even pays tribute to some other Spider-Man properties, notably the Raimi trilogy.
But then we get into the negatives, and it really drags what would potentially be a 9/10 game, down several notches. So disappointing.
There is no post-game freeroam, so unless you were smart enough to make an extra save file way earlier in the game before the city gets embroiled in chaos and grime (which, luckily, I was), you're stuck reloading the nasty looking endgame section to swing around.
The collectibles necessary for things in the game (such as swing speed, health and special meters) are fun to seek out at first, but become a drag as the game goes on. This also manifests itself in the obnoxious sidequests designed to pad out the game with filler content. Quality over quantity, folks.
There are quicktime events (the weapon of choice for lazy and disconnected game designers) in some of the most inopportune places, causing unnecessary frustration and anger when I have to rewatch an unskippable series of cutscenes for the 10th time due to a mistimed or unexpected button prompt.
Symbiote, symbiote, symbiote. Symbiote this and that. Very tiring and one note. Also, Black Widow.
I absolutely LOVE some aspects of this game (I mean, I even got to chill with Moon Knight!!). It had the potential to be the best comic-spidey game of all time, and that's exactly why it hurts me to give it this lowered score.
Score - 6/10
