Role reversal for monsters & humans tonight...the monsters went on a short trip to "Human World" recently ( something like Jurassic Park?) & if living under the humans' beds all these years hadn't thought already convinced them of the humans' brutality, their trip to Human World was the final straw. ....thanks to @drfritzcartoons for creating & posting this image. At least one of his cartoons was posted here previously. Online he reports that he grew up in Iowa & now lives in San Francisco, where he earned a BFA in illustration at the Academy of Art.
Speaking of monsters under the bed -- many of them go away for the summer because it's too hot under there. Thanks to rare photos from the monster paparazzi squad, we now have photos of them at the beach. Cartoon by Amy Kurzweil who draws for The New Yorker & has also published a graphic memoir titled "Flying Couch." Image here posted by @morosoph_books ...Artist @amykurzweil
To fight the shame that can live in the shadows we have to be fully known and know that we are fully loved. So often we don't share about our mental illness or internal struggles because of the shame and rejection we assume we will experience from others. But to live like followers of Jesus we have to be known in both the good and the bad and we have to love it each other in both as well. #monstersunderthebed#bykota#fullyknownfullyloved

With all the ghouls and goblins out tonight sometimes the littles imaginations run wild.
When they feel like there are monsters in the room, just whip up this simple spray to “scare” away the monsters so that your littles can have a good sleep!
In a 4 oz bottle:
2 oz Witch Hazel (get the good stuff so that it’s not scented like chemicals)
1.5 oz distilled water
8-10 drops Lavender
4-5 drops Vetiver
1 little squirt of fractionated coconut oil and voila! Done!
Spray all around the bed to keep the monsters away. 😉
DōTERRA uses the purest and most potent oils available on the market. So you can feel free to use less if you think it’s too strong for your liking. Everyone has a different preference.
Lavender oil is all things calming. It has relaxing properties and smells so beautiful. Side note- it is also very relaxing to your skin. So it’s perfect to mix in with a cream to help any skin irritations, burns, or anything that needs a little help healing. It is a great one to add to a night cream.
Vetiver is a very grounding and sedating oil. It has a very earthy smell and I prefer just a few drops of it because I find it very potent. It is a great one to add in at night time. My little is very wired and he needs all the help he can get to turn his brain off to sleep.
If you don’t have these two oils you can always mix and match with other calming blends!
If you are using oils be sure to refer to the best resource - The Essential Life book. Message me if you want to grab a copy for yourself! I purchase through oillife.com and I have a discount code for you!

No Such Thing by Jackie French Koller, 1997.
Howard's mommy tells him there's no such thing as monsters. Monster's mommy tells him there's no such thing as boys. Then they find each other on the opposite side of their bed.
This cute parallel bedtime story of boy and monster rings true, and it will make you smile.
